Have loved this place for 20 plus years. Exceptional pieces, some with the price tags still on. I have bought classic Chanel, Belgian Shoes and a variety of items too numerous to mention. This place is nothing short of a revelation. My mother went for years and in 2019, I dropped in. Only open four hours three times a week so you have to plan ahead. I bought a beautiful Italian blazer and slacks I got too big to wear in menopause but now rocking! 50 bucks. Pair of jeans for 10. But you also have really high-end stuff that even used I can't afford. Those who can will save huge. I haven't been since before the pandemic but hope to go soon. My mom used to go regularly after her ballet class at Westside, not far away. My go to designer resale was The Cottage in Pacific Palisades. That closed some years ago (replaced by yet another ridiculously overpriced home goods store). My other go to was Jessica Consign in SB but I've bought next to nothing since COVID hit. And having lost a lot of weight/size, I'm wearing older things I couldn't get into. read more

The service was very good here! I had to write a review because I had an outstanding first experience: the volunteers were helpful and friendly. They helped me find a number of excellent accessories for my office comfort bar, as well as some nice jewelry. I also got a great pair of shoes for $10. The volunteers are also overall very supportive of the Childrens Network which the store's sales support. They have a nice and large store with a nice selection, and even some men's clothing (rare yet appreciated). A kids section would be nice also! Tip: Free parking in the back! read more

Philanthropic boutique acts as gossip mill for out of touch old ladies. I have several issues with this place but first I will say that there are wonderful items to be found here. My issues- the hours are very limited. Four hours a day only three days a week. Which would be fine if they were actually there those hours. Sometimes I drive all the way there to find the place deserted. Another time the door was locked and when I knocked and the woman inside waved me away with no explanation. The prices are very inconsistant. Some items are fairly priced and some are out of the world crazy. $300 for a Kate Spade canvas tote bag that may or may not be real? What are they thinking? I get the impression that these ladies value their donations way more than customers are willing to pay for. I've seen items in there for over one year and they are not willing to negotiate on prices. Also, every time I have been in there these women are arguing with each other. They are extremely passive agressive and actually gossip openly about non-present members with customers in the store. read more

My friend brought me here today and I found lots of treasures. They were having a 50% off sale and I found a bunch of neat pieces. There are a lot of vintage dresses, Blazers, hats, shoes, and clothing. There are a lot of big name brands too and products are all well kept. The ladies are all Nice and friendly. I bought a bag full of clothing for under $50! I am so coming again next time! read more

A great place to buy designer clothing. Yes, yes, You have to hunt and peck but there are bargains to be had and lots of terrific items!...you just have to search for them. Many of the items had very high original retail prices, you get quality - so don't expect to pay cheap/cheap prices, but there are sleepers! Yes, a suit could be marked high, but gee, it's a Chanel! I've noticed that many 'pickers' shop here, and then the item ends up in one of the high-end resale shops on La Brea Ave or Melrose. The only problem with this store is their limited hours or I'd give this place a 5-star. And the nice thing is that it's for charity: The Children's Institute. read more

Several of the posted reviews are inaccurate..I am a weekly regular customer and find the pricing much more reasonable than other resale stores. I have never heard any one employee gossip nor be rude and I have been shopping here for four years faithfully. The vintage pieces may be high, but they are also ONE OF A KIND. This was my first time stopping by the shop. I was in a rush to find flats to go with my dress for my baby shower that same day. I had gone to 3 other high-end shops in town and this was my last hope before giving up. I was never welcomed, in fact, I got a few side-eye glances from the volunteers. I imagine I got the stare down because I didn't look like the others in the shop. I am a young urban Latina wearing a baseball cap and sneakers, while everyone at the shop was over 60 and White Caucasian. I rushed straight to the shoe area and found a pair of white flats in my size at a great price. I was curious to see if the shop had shoes elsewhere in the shop. I was abruptly stopped by a woman sitting at a desk, who asked me where I was going with those shoes. I politely told her I was shopping for a pair of shoes and asked if this was the only area in the shop that had shoes. She told me there were shoes up front, and asked me to leave the shoes with her. I left the shoes with her and looked at the shoes upfront which I didn't like. I returned to her and she asked if I was going to even buy the shoes. I told her, I would like to try them on. And she reluctantly handed them to me. I tried them on and realized they would work perfectly with my outfit for the day. I returned to her to proceed to make my purchase, I said to her I'd like to buy these and reached for my purse. "You are?" was her response in disbelief! She wrote up my purchase, then I had to go to a different counter to make my actual purchase. Quite the process there! Terrible customer service!! I mentioned this experience to all my friends and family, as we have lived in the area for over 4 generations! My mother shared with me that she had also felt unwelcomed there when she had stopped by one day after leaving the bank next door. Unbelievable and Unacceptable!!! read more

Amazing vintage and designer clothing resale store where the proceeds benefit Children's Institute (a charity that supports abused children in Southern California). I have found so many treasures here for myself, my husband, and my teenage fashionista daughter, at a tiny fraction of retail prices. On my last visit there, I scored a pair of Chanel snakeskin flats and a pair of velvet Lanvin flats -- both pairs looked brand new! The time before, I got a gorgeous turquoise necklace, an evening bag, a Calvin Klein car coat for my girl (size 0), and some dress shirts for my husband. If you want to pay $100 for a cotton nightgown, and $40 for an no-brand scarf, fur coats for thousands, from a very frosty volunteer staff, have at it. Out-of-style designer clothing is still out of style. No doubt quality here, but at what price? Wildly over-priced designer clothing reduced to sticker-shock levels. I run a retail and vintage business myself, so I know when people are pricing items correctly. If things are designer and currently in fashion, the price will be more. Designer labels in old ladies clothing, none of which is in style, is not worth the same amount. A ugly 1970s Chanel jacket in an awful color is not worth $200. Sorry it's not. I feel sorry for the charity. They are open such limited hours and with such awful prices, I do not think they are really doing much. It seems like a pet project for rich women with full closets and nothing better to do with their time. I have never found anything worthwhile here. I check back every few months and end up leaving angry, insulted, and empty handed. read more

I have shopped at The Colleague Room many different times and have almost always found some kind of great bargain. They have terrific designer clothes in good condition at very reasonable prices and also a good assortment of casual clothing. The space is clean and well organized and the volunteers that work there are helpful and fun. I have also found some really great shoes and love their jewelry department. This is an amazing store! The majority of the merchandise is vintage resale (men and women), encompassing about the last 10 years, but a small section is devoted to vintage designer clothing (women only). The store is very spacious and well laid out and bright, although the racks do get jammed with clothing and can be hard to move to look at the pieces. There is a lot, so make sure you have plenty of time to browse. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and designers, and there are many unexpected bargains to be found. For example, a classic Chanel tweed jacket was about $400, while a white linen Valentino pencil skirt was priced at $30. There are numerous sale racks too where the merchandise is half off (much under even $10), with many great deals to be found. The designers are usually classic, old design houses- expect to see Chanel, Valentino, Escada, Carolina Hererra, etc. There are many suits as well as other garments. The vintage racks are priced extremely reasonably, rarely going over $200 for even the most extravagent of pieces. Most were well less than even $50, and many by reputable designers, and dates ranging from the early 1900s to the 1980s, with a focus on the 70s and 80s. Sizing in all garments ranges from the very tiny to the very large. The tags were helpful in that they stated whether each item was "couture" meaning "designer resale" or "vintage" and the approximation of size, but did not state the approximate date of the vintage pieces. There is also an ample shoe section (although I think the clothing is of better quality) and is jewelry, purses, hats and other accessories to chose from. There are some antiques/furniture, too. The staff were elderly women and were not the most friendly- very grouchy, and not willing to help me even when I was carrying close to 50 pounds worth of clothing on my little arm. They were also rude when they thought I did not hang up a garment. Additionally, the store is open only Mondays, Thursdays, and the first Saturday of each month from only 10 am- 2pm. For these reasons, I did not give the store 5 stars. Another drawback includes the communal dressing room- do wear modest undergarments to avoid embarassment! The proceeds go to a good charity, and the merchandise is varied and unique, and well priced, so please make The Colleagues a priority in your next shopping extravaganza! read more

What a find. Fantastic clothes and accessories for women with mens things as well. Bought my teenage son 5 button down mens shirts which he wears all the time. Love the fact that all the workers are volunteers and the money goes back to the community to help abused children and families. Win-WIn for everyone. Great store and great cause! read more

This is very expensive Resale donation store! The have tons of vintage pieces but their price is the same as retail store. I thought Donation items should be priced less? The lady who worked there is very unfriendly and gossip all the time! The hour is not convenient. I drove there once, the supposed to open, but it was closed. it's a rip off! read more

I have shopped here several times and have found some of my favorite dresses and shoes. Incredible, hardly worn Oscar de la Renta dresses and M Blahnik shoes. Excellent prices. The people who work there are all volunteers (because the store benefits a charity that helps families) and some of them know the merchandise really well. They helped me find gems that were right for me. I recently visited and they have had a make-over of the store and it looks and feels great and is really easy to shop. I took my daughter into the shop last Saturday to pick up several blouses and jackets for her new job. It was fabulous. She purchased David Hayes jackets, Watney, Escada, Faconnable, and Ralph Lauren. All at 50% off. You can not buy clothes of this high quality anymore. Things made in Italy, France and USA, all of the stuff today is made in China. My daughter is young and loves to wear her jeans with the older channel looking jackets of high quality. She would rather pay more for an older designer item than 5 junky things from Zara. This shop is VERY RARE and we look forward to many more visits. read more

quite a LA-TI-DA ...."members only" feel ..selling establishment.....you feel the "priveledged monied" attitide in the air....very clickish environment...and a great place for gossip hearing (from beautifully coiffed ladies)........BUUUT, if you can handle this, and laugh at it all...it's fun to see if you can posssibly put your hands on something quite special these days ...(I have..but rarely now)! WOW...do I remember the "olden days " ...nothing like it used to be anymore....it's too intimate now .....and VERY small inventory (MOSTLY SMALL sizes) compared to years ago ....and the prices (kock me over!!!) ....sale events are the ONLY time to go....OH and YES......don't be surprised if you come from many miles away (WHAT A DRAG)...and they are closed...happened to me too......so call in advance.....and make sure that they are there...don't forget to make it a stop IF, you are in the aree...ON the right few days....and within those FEW hours ...if it is your lucky day....you may find a treasure to add to your collection read more
