We finally stopped by for lunch on a Saturday after reading good things about this place. We got the egg rolls (cha gio) and two traditional banh mi, and my wife got the signature latte. It was a windy day and power cut in and out a few times. Staff were polite and apologized to everybody for the delay. Cha gio were decent but we would have preferred an accompaniment of nuoc cham rather than sweet chili sauce. Banh mi were also okay but I don't usually see a traditional version with ham. My wife enjoyed the latte. Decor is cute and friendly. Probably not our first choice but I'd be willing to try them again and order something else.

Really pretty interior - big, spacious, with high ceilings and comfy seating. The vibe makes it a nice place to hang out and chat or study or get some work done. Staff were very kind and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. Food was less good. I was excited to find a croffle in the wild, but it looked really sad. The matcha/chocolate on top was super thick and its sweetness was overpowering. Bao buns were on the dry side as well but still decent flavor-wise. I also got their popcorn chicken, which was similar to the bao buns (dry but with ok flavor). If I come back it'll definitely be for the seating and vibes. Next time, I'll try their drinks and maybe some other food items.

Grab your girlfriends and come to Gossip Tea Lounge! I am so glad I found this new cafe in Durham. They have bubble tea, buns, banh mi, pastries and other Vietnamese inspired dishes and treats to order. The staff was so friendly. It took us a while to read through the menu, but they were more than willing to assist with recommendations and explain anything we had questions for. You can also order by tablet/kiosk if you already know what you want. I personally tried their sparkling refresher, and I loved the fizzy taste and fun flavors offered. You can also order milk teas, fresh milks, and fruit teas, but I appreciated that you could get something caffeine free during the evening. All of the drinks come in a generous size. My friends ordered the bahn me and bun which they described as nothing short of tasty. The decor is cool and sophisticated. There are plenty of tables and comfy chairs to sit and enjoy your treats. It feels clean, relaxed and cozy. It's the perfect place to chat or perhaps even gossip a little bit. They are also open late until 8pm, so it's a great place to come after work. Lastly, there's plenty of parking in the shopping plaza so you don't have to worry about parking.

A new boba spot in Durham is such a win! Got the: - Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Boba: This was pretty classic! Strong tea flavor; pretty sweet- I'd probably get 50-75% next time. To note, by brown sugar boba, they mean crystal boba- a surprise to me, but I didn't mind bc I like the snappiness of crystal boba. - Honey Glazed Pork Bánh Mì: On the smaller side, but tasty- I appreciated the refreshing carrot/radish/cucumber mixture, spicy jalapeños, tender pork, & crispy baguette. - Ube Cheesecake: I feel like $8 is a bit steep for the size of this, but it was creamy with good Ube flavor. Was thrown off a little bc it didn't have a crust. The ambiance is so nice, spacious & super aesthetic- seems like a good place to get work done. Tons of parking available in the lot. Service was fast. I'd def come here for the boba again. 8/10 would recommend!

Gossip Tea Lounge is a Vietnamese café offering an array of banh mi sandwiches, small bites, boba, and coffee that recently opened in Durham, NC. Went on a Friday evening and ordered a couple of things to-go. It was a quiet evening and the food was prepared quickly. The staff were all super friendly and welcoming . They do have some seating inside and the aesthetic was bright, modern and clean. I tried the classic Banh Mi which included slices of jambon and ham as well as a slaw that included pickled carrots, cilantro and jalapeños. I was pleasantly surprised by the spice kick from the jalapeños. The flavor of the meat paired with the acidity of the veggie slaw was delicious. The bread was toasted well and all in all great. Portions were on the slightly smaller side. They also had several food options under the "street food" section of their menu including items like spring rolls, dumplings, and popcorn chicken which we did not try. I also ordered the Gossip Milk Tea with brown sugar boba at 50% sweetness. The brown sugar boba ended up being crystal boba, though this was not specified on the menu which threw me off at first sip when I was expecting regular boba. However, the milk tea was great and the 50% sweetness was balanced. All in all, a solid choice for boba and would return to try their other menu options!

Popcorn chicken

Nice crusty bread on their sizeable banh-mi. I got their recommend honey-glazed pork, which had nice sweet and savory flavors that worked well with the cool pickled veg. I also tried their popcorn chicken. It came out freshly fried, hot and juicy, and with a generous portion. I'd like a stronger flavor from their seasoning shake, but it did also come with a sweet chili sauce. They were still in soft opening when I visited, but it already felt pretty solid. The food was excellent and the decor was cute. My main recommendation is for them to add a water jug for folks who aren't into the teas.

We can't believe we have lived near here over a year and are just trying it. They have tablets that make ordering fast and easy. Cute interior with lots of seating. This was some of the best most refreshing tea I've had in a while. Perfect balance of herbal and fruity sweetness. The chicken was our favorite of the food we tried. The bao was super soft and the veggies in the spring roll were fresh and crisp. We didn't really care for the pork belly though. We definitely be back next time we want boba somewhere close by.

Nice to have a quality boba/banh mi spot between Durham and Chapel hill! The inside is fairly large which means you can eat in or grab some boba and work on a laptop. Now onto the boba, as the shops name might suggest the brown sugar boba milk tea was tea forward which I often find difficult to pull off well but they did a great job! Im only giving them a 4 because $8 is slightly on the pricier side for boba but it may be hard to find a better tea forward boba option in the Durham/Chapel Hill area.

I was in the area and wanted to grab a drink somewhere and i'm so glad i stopped here! I came on a weekday afternoon and the cashier was friendly. I ordered at a kiosk. I ordered a strawberry matcha latte and it was delicious! Love how much strawberry they put in the drink. The interior was also super nice!

Love this place! Great service and cozy yet upscale ambiance. They have fruit tea, milk tea, and a host of entree and dessert options too. They also have really tasty banh mi sandwiches! You can grab a seat and play board games, read a book, study, and just vibe out. Parking gets a little tight since it's in a shopping area but usually there's some spots open a block down or two. Definitely will be coming back more often.

I was getting my nails done at Soho nail lounge in Durham, North Carolina when the owner was telling everybody about this café, she just opened up next-door. I was super hungry after my workout so I tried it out. The food is excellent very very fresh and the Boba is nice and chewy just like I like it. Kim is the owner and is very personable to the guests. I also noted the added a touch of bling on her food packaging very upscale! And the café is also decorated beautifully. She even let me plug into Wi-Fi so I could get a bit of work done while I ate. Gotta try it.

Foamy ice

I ordered a tiramisu coffee with oat milk and it was over $8. I ended up with a cup full of ice and some foam and maybe half liquid that I could drink. It tasted great but I was done in about four sips and left with foamy ice. Definitely not worth $8. Ambiance was great and very comfortable.

We arrived at 8p on a Friday night to a busy but fun scene in a smaller but chic restaurant. The waitresses and waiters were all very pleasant and sat us quickly. I had a lychee limeade mocktail and my husband had a San Miguel beer. We ordered crispy Brussels sprouts and Lumpiang Shanghai roles.....one word....delicious! Do yourself a favor and order these rolls! For dinner, I had a tofu fried rice and my husband had a chicken stir fry, which both tasted so light and fresh! Definitely worth the visit!! My friend is from that area of the world and on her recommendation we tried this new place in downtown Durham. It was terrific, what a find! The restaurant's unique handmade paintings on walls and other Philippino decor was very eclectic and cool. They had a hand painted mural of the famous Chef Anthony Bourdain Which was cool but he's from New York so I'll have to ask the owner about that next time I come back. Lol The place was packed and we were walk ins but the owner was at the reception desk and told us to wait and she might be able to find us a table. We were in luck and she directed us to the back room. The server was extremely knowledgeable about all the dishes. Since I had my Philippino friend along she told us what she liked as well as the helpful server. The food was delicious and had a beautiful presentation. What I ate I can't pronounce so look at my pics of the menu ;) I had a bowl w beef filet, onions, tomatoes, cucumber lining the bowl w Jasmine rice and a fried egg on top. My friend had oxtail and the other had an appetizer of Lumplang Shanghai and entre of Pancit Behon, all food was extraordinary and large portions. No doubt that was why the place was packed! It's a great place in downtown Durham to check out next time you want to have some adventurous dining. Kain Po Tayo! (Enjoy your meal!)

Unfortunately the jajamyeon tasted burnt initially (it is wok fried so maybe it was too caramelized and charred for my liking), but the chef remade it and the remake was great! There's not a ton of seating, but we got a table quickly. The service was quick, and even though the place was small, it felt more cozy than cramped. I liked having the menu on the wall! They had two vegan options, and my partner & I both got the Biang Biang noodles. It was good, and perhaps even better the next day (the serving was big enough that I couldn't finish it). My sister got the Jjajiang Mian & absolutely loved it. This was a very positive experience, but not mindblowing--I think that the hype around the "M" restaurants perhaps raised my expectations a bit too much. It's also possible that their non-vegan options are stronger than their vegan options. Overall, though, very yummy, the prices are very reasonable for Durham ($16 for the Biang Biang noodles), and I would come back & try the veggie curry if given the chance.
