I've been going here for years. One of the only auto places that won't try to fix what doesn't need fixing. Very honest.

Thankfully, that was not my experience at Turbo Tim's. From the very start, things felt different. Before my appointment, I received a fair and transparent estimate for the AC issues I was concerned about. When I arrived, Mike greeted me with a friendly smile and explained the process clearly -- no jargon, no pressure, just honesty. One big bonus? They offer a free ride service for locals to and from the shop. I've never had that before, and it made dropping off my car so much easier. They also communicated throughout the day via text with updates, which I really appreciated. When I came back to pick up my car, the bill was walked through step-by-step, and I was told that if the issue worsens, I can bring it back within a year for a free assessment or fix. It's clear they strive to make everyone feel welcome, no matter their level of car knowledge -- and it shows. I'll definitely keep Turbo Tim's in mind for future repairs. And on a lighter note, the shop's fish tank is pretty cool... and there are multiple friendly shop cats wandering around. I hope they're paid generously in treats and love.

As a busy Northeast teacher, it can be difficult to answer the phone in the middle of the day. Their service always makes it easy and goes above and beyond! Prices are easily comparable to the rest of the market if not even a little cheaper!

I…read morebrought my truck in because the check engine light kept coming on -- code said it needed a new thermostat. They charged me an arm and a leg for the repair, which I decided to just eat at the time. But when I got the truck back, it was overheating after about twelve minutes of driving, to the point the A/C was blowing hot air. Which it was not doing at all before they'd touched it. I called them up, explained the issue, and they told me to bring it back so they could "take a look." I dropped it off the next day, and they claimed they couldn't find anything wrong. Then they offered to "fix" my A/C with a $300 freon recharge -- which made absolutely no sense. Even though I'm no mechanic, I wasn't born yesterday. When I got back in my truck, I also noticed they'd somehow damaged my driver's seat adjustment controls. At that point I took it to another mechanic in town, who immediately spotted the issue: the thermostat they installed was a cheap, faulty part. The second shop replaced it for half the price and I've had zero problems since. If they want to reply with some generic apology, that's fine -- it's too little, too late. I gave them a chance to make this right, and instead they tried to upsell me on something I didn't need. Either they're completely clueless or intentionally manipulative. Either way, I wouldn't touch this place with a ten-foot pole.

Can you leave no stars? I have had my car serviced 3x by this location. The first time was an…read morealmost 4 HOUR ORDEAL. They DID allow me to use a loaner car after hour 2. They said it was taking the parts department a long time to bring the oil filter for my car, even though I made the appointment a week in advance and specified my vehicle make and model. They also comped the service since it took to long. The second time still took FOREVER over an hour, again blaming the parts department. THIS IS WHERE IT GETS SPICY. The 3rd time took a somewhat normal time. BUT I ended up with oil dripping out of my car. I waited to see if maybe it was oil spillage from the change left over on the pan. But it continued leaking. I drive a 2019 vehicle and drive like a grandpa. I brought my car in today and they got it on jacks and said "nothing looks wrong". "I had to put 2 quarts of oil in" I told them and they didn't really respond to that. "We don't see a leak and we tightened the bolt on the oil pan." To which I questioned "I thought you said nothing was wrong?" "Well yeah except the bold was not all the way tight" So they brought the car down and I went inside just to cancel my appointment I made later in the week so I wasn't taking up an open appointment. AT THIS TIME THE OWNER Tim Gleason said "yeah this is why we hate doing oil changes. I would be happy if I never had to do an oil change again. We lose money and it's a headache." I will be watching my oil leak situation and have them address it if it continues but I will NEVER BRING MY CAR HERE FOR SEEVICE AGAIN! I thought it was good customer service but it seems they attempt to be nice even though none of this should have happened. Oh well.

The same manager of the location (St Anthony) that obviously made some kind of mistake is the person that determined that my claim. Ok, so I'm trying to take them to court for my damages. Go through the process, I have to have them served the court paperwork at their Corporate location in Lexington Kentucky. Paid to send the summons and have it served by the local sheriff department there. Get this, the attorney at the Valvoline Corporate Office would not accept the service. He would not accept the paperwork, and told the Sheriff that they were not accepting/allowing the court summons to be served to them. In fact nothing can be served there. Look everyone makes mistakes. Why this Corporate giant is acting so thirsty is beyond me. I have had my cars serviced at Valvoline for as long as I remember. I am so disappointed at how shady and irresponsible they are acting. On the whole I know they provide reliable service to thousands if not millions of customers. But everyone makes mistakes so why lie and dodge legal paperwork? This is not right!!! I lost my job behind this. They never even properly investigated my claim. This is a company that is trusted nationwide and they should be held responsible for their screw ups. The manager at the St Anthony, MN location told me "you're on you own". 15 minutes after I got my l oil changed, there was no oil nor oil filter on my car., the engine seized. My receipt from Valvoline says all systems are go. So if there was a previous oil related problem they would have caught it. The fact of the matter is that before I got my car serviced there, it ran just great. I honestly had no issues with it. Now it just sits behind my house. This thirsty irresponsible behavior is not acceptable. Stand behind the service you provide. Do what is right! I know there are probably thousands of people with simular stories. We should all get together and hold them responsible for their screw ups. No one is perfect, Own up Valvoline!!! You are ruining lives and putting lives in danger with this faulty service you don't stand behind. My car seized while driven on the streets. What if I had been on the freeway? What if my car stalled and caused an accident that cost someone else their vehicle or their life? VALVOLINE, A NAME YOU CAN TRUST? I THINK NOT, BEWARE!!

Because there are family owned businesses, and they were judging me. I am a mixed-race American. Who has been judged many times but to be judged by a local service provider. Who was going to be working on my vehicle is an outrage. The service center states that they will charge you half up front for any service that is to be done so that they can purchase the parts ahead of time. Allowing anything different would mean that the judgment they made against me was purely race-related and not a business decision. I recommend you try another service station

They also said they had to replace the tie rods which was supposed to fix a squeaking when turning which never went away so I am not convinced they even did anything. Due to the tie rods being replaced I had to pay for an alignment, which is normal. Lo and behold, a few months later my car is vibrating on the freeway and I have to pay for another balancing and alignment elsewhere. On top of it all, I am not one to be mad about quick service even at the expense of friendly customer service. However, they were straight up rude. They said I had to get xyz replaced, and when I said I had to think about it, they asked, "Why?". Why do you think? I am a college student, I don't have several thousand dollars to shell out on command for repairs, give me a second to think.
