According to the manufacturer its actually +15k, so they also lied to me which is annoying. If I did go back, I would definitely not take their recommendations.

I make the drive from out in the suburbs and arrange rides to and from the shop when I need things done because the service and honesty is worth every bit of logistical hastle. I won't take my car anywhere else for repairs. Recently, I had an oil change done at another shop for convenience. They informed me that two of the CV boots had "blown out" and needed to be replaced. I scheduled a drop off to Starr, and sure enough the other shop was lying. Nothing wrong with the boots. The boots are $150 and surely even with Starr's reasonable labor prices I'd have been looking at least $200-250 in total to replace them. This shop is friendly, quick, and most of all honest. Their work is excellent, and they never recommend anything to be done if it doesn't need fixing. If it ain't broken, don't fix it.... and they don't! They won't try to get you to do things early, they won't hoodwink you, but they WILL meet you with a smile and an accurate timeline of when your car will be fixed and at least for me, the estimates have always ended up being accurate or the actual work being less. This shop is worth every bit of the drive to get your work done. I'll never go anywhere else.

Instead of inspecting that part, the shop replaced my starter and battery terminal posts, charging me $966. The problem was never fixed -- the Jeep still has the exact same starting issue. When I returned, Starr Auto admitted it might actually be the neutral safety switch and said they could repair it for another $200. That clearly shows the first repair was misdiagnosed and unnecessary. I'm a disabled veteran with VA disabled license plates, and I rely on my vehicle for daily mobility. I trusted this shop to treat me fairly, but instead I feel taken advantage of and disappointed by their lack of professionalism and integrity. I've since filed a credit card dispute for the $966 charge and would strongly caution other customers -- especially veterans -- to avoid this business.

They charged me an arm and a leg for the repair, which I decided to just eat at the time. But when I got the truck back, it was overheating after about twelve minutes of driving, to the point the A/C was blowing hot air. Which it was not doing at all before they'd touched it. I called them up, explained the issue, and they told me to bring it back so they could "take a look." I dropped it off the next day, and they claimed they couldn't find anything wrong. Then they offered to "fix" my A/C with a $300 freon recharge -- which made absolutely no sense. Even though I'm no mechanic, I wasn't born yesterday. When I got back in my truck, I also noticed they'd somehow damaged my driver's seat adjustment controls. At that point I took it to another mechanic in town, who immediately spotted the issue: the thermostat they installed was a cheap, faulty part. The second shop replaced it for half the price and I've had zero problems since. If they want to reply with some generic apology, that's fine -- it's too little, too late. I gave them a chance to make this right, and instead they tried to upsell me on something I didn't need. Either they're completely clueless or intentionally manipulative. Either way, I wouldn't touch this place with a ten-foot pole.

I kinda piled things up with my car and when I finally took it in I was looking for an oil change, new brake light, tire rotation, and air pressure checked. I was hoping I could have all this done for around $125. I left with an $80 bill and they fixed a problem that I had with a tire sensor that I have had for YEARS (MULTIPLE places have offered to fix this for around $200). I was completely blown away. My care needs full synthetic oil and I've been charged upwards of $100 for just an oil change. Southeast was more than affordable and I got one for around half of that. The printout they gave me was very detailed, they didn't offer anything extra than what I was there for and as mentioned before they actually took the time to put the right amount of air in the tires and informed me my sensor was never even broken to begin with. You do need to make an appointment (but I was still able to get in just 2 days out) and drop your car off in the morning. By noon my car was finished and I was able to pick it up. I will absolutely be back and it is honestly the best experience I've ever had at an auto service place. They are very very honest and if you are still considering someplace else, just look at the other 5 star reviews. Southeast is the best!

I came in for an oil change but he let me know I will need a transmission and radiator flush too. When I told him that was out of my budget for now he didn't pressure me or make me feel like I was making the worst decision of my life. He just said "I understand, I just have to let you know. I will put the notes on your receipt for you." What I really appreciated was that he brought me over to my car and showed me what the issues were even down to showing me what the bottle of oil that I should buy looks like and what a clean air filter looks like so I would know. He even explained to me how the coolant and radiator works, TWICE! I really liked that I didn't have to make an appointment and I could just show up. I suppose everyone knows that about Valvoline but it was refreshing to me. I would much rather wait in the waiting room than leave my car at some shop just to find out they couldn't get to it and I have to wait a day. I can trust that only the correct and necessary fixes are being done to my car. I spent more than I wanted to but I don't even feel bad about it because I never felt like I was being up-sold.
