I came here because of the reviews. They had a green matcha smoothie that caught my eye. The guy at the front was super nice and mentioned that they've recently rebranded and do not have offer matcha smoothies. Which is fine, so I was going to opt for a coffee. I love coffee and very familiar with the differences. Their coffee menu is limited, I'm not a big fan of lattes because it has too much milk but did not want another shot of espresso. I asked for an iced cappuccino, which in understand isn't common. A man and woman, I believe are the owners, said there's no such thing as an iced cappuccino. I tried to explain to them, I understand, a latte has too much milk and I don't want another shot of espresso and asked if they can just add less milk instead. The employee seemed to understand what I was asking. The lady said don't take the order. The man said he didn't understand. I asked how many shots are in their latte, he said 2. I said ok, I don't understand why we can't add less milk. The employee showed a cup and said I can add milk to about here? Yes, exactly what I was asking for, thank you! So we met up here with our kids 5 and under and got some food and coffee to go and then the park. They have samples which was awesome my son and I tried the chocolate, vanilla, and pumpkin. They were all AMAZING. So I got a chocolate rose and a coffee ball, and a pumpkin spice latte. My son, my 11 month daughter and I have need up eating all of it right there while we waited for our friends to show up. It's the perfect texture creamy smooth, perfect flavors and taste like normal cheesecake filling. It had actual healthy things in it so I had no mom guilt letting my kids have some. We tried the chocolate coconut cold brew and chocolate cheesecake and we were really impressed with the quality, flavor, and healthy ingredients. Many businesses have not received much help since Covid and they rely on their local communities in order to sustain themselves, unlike large corporations. This business deserves far more support because I guarantee the majority of us have been significantly supporting Amazon who treats their employees like trash and imports almost everything from China. This local family does great work and believes in giving us a healthier and better option which is unfortunately not easy to find in the Southlake/Colleyville/Keller area. Oh. My. GOODNESS! These are the most creamy, flavorful, delicious desserts ever! But, how can they be this melt in your mouth creamy since there is no dairy or cream in them!? This is a MUST try! They will keep in the freezer but set them out about 30 minutes before serving, or serve directly from the refrigerator. For desserts with the creamy textured chia seed in the bottom, stir the chia through the upper flavored layer before eating for a melt-in-your-mouth party! Their portions are crazy small and they will call you cheap if you ask if they do custom orders. They have no midsize option between a $120 cake and a $9 two bite piece (this is for the turtle) and when I tried to ask if I could special order a $60 version of the cake in question, the owner basically called me cheap. No customer service skills, also what small business making CAKES won't do a special order? I have supported their business before and i wasn't objecting the price so much as it was the price for the quantity. I don't want to spend $27 on 3 tiny pieces of cake, I wanted to buy an actual midsize cake. I'm also the only vegan at my holiday gathering so I didn't need $120 worth of cake. Is it really that cheap to want a midsize option between tiny and enormous? I don't think so, especially when I was prepared to spend $60 or so. Not impressed with their lack of flexibility and manners. I'm vegan and used to paying a premium for vegan products but be advised that their premium is sharp and their portions tiny. I would still be back for the fact that they are vegan and ideally I want to support vegan restaurants- but the attitude and lack of flexibility aren't worth it. I have been to DessertsRx only a few times. I remember my first time coming here (it was pre-COVID) and the owner was very kind. She gave us free samples and told us her reason for opening her cafe. I am lactose-intolerant so it's so nice having a local shop that has dairy free options! However, I had to take one star off because the barista who took our order was not wearing a mask. She took our order and made our drinks without a mask. I probably would've understand if there was a plastic barrier, but there wasn't. Also, on their Yelp it states that the staff wear masks, but she wasn't. Their service is amazing. They're kinder people and their drinks and food are delicious.
