BEWARE!!! I was…read morecharged $723 for a visit that lasted less than 5 minutes. I barely sat down before the appointment was over. All that happened was a quick conversation and I was asked to pee in a cup. That's it. Before the appointment, I specifically asked the front desk for an upfront estimate with my insurance (United Healthcare) because I didn't want any surprise bills. They told me the estimated cost would be around $243, which I paid upfront at the office. Later I checked my itemized bill and saw the total charge was $723. My insurance paid $0, and now I'm being billed another $141.57 on top of the $243 I already paid. So somehow a 5-minute visit and urine sample equals $723. What's even more ridiculous is I was told self-pay would have been around $275, meaning using insurance actually made the visit hundreds of dollars more expensive. This kind of pricing feels extremely misleading. If the office would like to publicly explain how a 5-minute visit and urine sample justifies a $723 charge, I'd genuinely love to hear it.

If you looking for real solutions and a game plan to resolve your issue, this is not the place. Their focus appears to be on prescribing higher doses of meds or surgery. This practice is part of Advanced Urology, who has offices in Snellville (main), Decatur, and Johns Creek. They also have a great patient portal available to all patients. I saw Dr. Prabharasuth in the Decatur office for a second opinion on a surgical need and a medical issue and he was far superior to the other physician I saw from another practice. The only issue is that for surgery, I have to go the Snellville surgery center because the Decatur surgery center is not in-network with Ambetter. NPWH=The office staff, doctors, phone operators, billing department, and everyone in between are RIDICULOUSLY nice. I totally recommend this group to anybody.

My husband had a terrible abscess that caused him to be admitted to the hospital for two weeks. I am very fortunate he was able to contain the infection before it could spread throughout his body. During this process Dr. Patel kept me informed and was a great sounding board. He made himself accessible. Words cannot express our gratitude. This is my first time writing on a blog but I felt compelled to go on record and tell everyone that he is the Greatest Urologist out there. I also want to give kudos to his staff. I had an extremely concerning experience with Advanced Urology in Marietta, Georgia, specifically…read morerelated to how they handle VA Community Care patients and billing. I was referred to this clinic through VA Community Care for a VA-authorized vasectomy. Shortly after being contacted to schedule, I was told I would need to pay a $250 booking fee out of pocket. As a veteran using authorized Community Care, this immediately raised concern. Only after I pushed back and involved VA Community Care did the clinic reverse that position and acknowledge that the booking fee should be billed to the VA, not the veteran. After the appointment was scheduled, I then received messaging from the clinic stating that the procedure would cost $149 if a post-vasectomy semen analysis kit was included, and $0 if it was excluded. I was repeatedly told by the clinic that this analysis kit is a retail product and that, due to how they operate, the cost is routinely passed to veterans. This directly conflicted with what VA Community Care confirmed in writing. VA Community Care explicitly stated that labs and pathology relevant to the referral are covered, including post-vasectomy semen analysis and post-vasectomy test kits, and instructed the clinic to bill Optum using CPT code 89321. VA also stated that if a veteran paid anything to the provider, those charges must be refunded. I have included screenshots documenting both the VA's written guidance and the clinic's messages quoting out-of-pocket costs. I personally spoke with the director of the clinic's benefits department, who stated that CPT code 89321 does not cover the vasectomy or the analysis kit and that the clinic cannot use that code to bill the kit internally. Despite VA's written clarification, I was told that if I wanted the required post-vasectomy analysis completed, I would need to arrange follow-up separately through the VA. After further confirmation with VA Community Care, I learned that the Atlanta VA does not even perform post-vasectomy semen analysis locally, meaning this proposed alternative was not viable and would have left me without proper follow-up or forced into paying out of pocket later. Because the clinic could not or would not provide VA-authorized care from start to finish, and attempted to shift the burden of their internal billing limitations onto me as the patient, I cancelled my appointment. Veterans should be aware that this clinic appears to accept VA Community Care referrals while disputing or declining covered components of care when they do not align with the clinic's internal billing model. I strongly recommend that any veteran considering this clinic obtain written confirmation in advance that all aspects of care, including required follow-up testing, will be completed and billed appropriately, with no out-of-pocket cost.

They truly cared about me as a patient and as a person. I moved to Knoxville, TN about 2 months ago for work. I've been seeing my previous urologist in NJ for years for my urological issues. My urological issues are embarrassing to me and it is very difficult for me to find the right person I'm comfortable with for treatment. I couldn't find anyone in Knoxville that could help my specific issue and that I was comfortable with as well. I did some research and I found Dr. Cornell and saw he had lots of experience with my issue and offered the same kind of treatments as my previous doctor. At my appointment today I felt extremely comfortable with Dr. Cornell. I was surprisingly more comfortable with him than my previous urologist I've seen for years. He is very nice and listens well. He offers excellent advice. And his treatment was even better and more effective than my NJ urologist as well. I am doing so much better right now and I'm grateful. I have to drive 3 hours each way to see Dr. Cornell but it is worth it to me. He is now my official urologist and I will be seeing him regularly. I am extremely grateful and relieved that I found him. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a urologist. Honestly I believe he is the best doctor and this is the best doctor office I've ever been to. Please check him out. He will help you. Thank you Dr. Cornell and Kim. - Christopher Neller

I was referred to Dr. Cornell by my internist, and I'm so glad I was!…read more I saw Dr. Cornell as a new patient today, and he and his staff could not have been nicer or more efficient. Once I got there and gave his office manager my paperwork, I only had to wait long enough for her to photocopy my license and insurance and start a chart, which took no more than 10 minutes. I was taken back quickly, and waited no more than 10 minutes again to see Dr. Cornell himself. Dr. Cornell was EXTREMELY thorough, and looked over my past history, looking for anything that could help him piece together a picture of what was going on with me; which I really appreciated. He answered every question (even if I accidentally asked more than once), made sure I knew exactly what was going on, and took as much time as I needed to understand his conclusions, course of treatment, and the reasoning behind it. Dr. Cornell listened and made sure he understood exactly what I was saying before coming to any conclusions or making a diagnosis. It was so wonderful to have a doctor that really listened and spent time with me. I cannot say enough about my experience with Dr. Cornell today.
