    I saw Dr. Dotson in the office and he was great! Super friendly and very efficient. I had very little wait time. Great dentist!

There was no triage process, no discussion, no examination, and no room for individual decision-making at all. He apparently doesn't care one iota why you may not want X-rays (thyroid issues, etc). I even agreed to a limited number of X-rays, just not the entire battery of them, and he still refused to see me. They also say that after the initial larger battery of X-rays that you don't need another set for 18 months, but they X-rayed my stepson again after 6 months without my or my husband's permission. We had no idea they were doing X-rays AGAIN or we would have objected. It's clearly a moneymaking scheme at the expense of people's health. Truly unethical. UPDATE: I saw another dentist, who only did 2 X-rays, looked in my mouth, and diagnosed me within minutes. He then told me how to solve my relatively minor problem with a couple of drug store products. When I told them about my experience at Dr. Weldon's office, they interrupted me about the battery of X-rays being good for 18 months and said, "That's not true, that battery of X-rays is good for 3-5 years, not 18 months." In other words, Weldon is apparently a bold-faced liar.

I had an implant done to replace a bridge when a new bridge could have been placed and would have been covered by my insurance and likely 1/3 of the total cost! His team told me that my insurance had been contacted and had approved the implant work inclusive of the crown which is a required part of the process. The non covered portions I paid as I completed each phase. Almost 18 months later I was presented with a bill for $1000+, after being told that my insurance did not pay (again I was told before the procedure that the process was acceptable to my insurance company). I would have never decided to incur the extra expense of an implant) esp since I had to make 4 trips back to Rome from SC for each step) if I would have known the insurance had not agreed to cover the crown (the final step). So this is a case of detrimental reliance. I asked the office to share in the responsibility and split the amount with me and they refused which shows a complete disregard for the fact that I relied on their professionalism in handling the insurance issues and then was blindsided with an incremental $1000 out of pocket bill 18 months later (after being laid off from my job of 35 years no less). I have literally spent 10000-16000 with this provider based on mutually agreed to insurance coverage only to be told 18 months later that I owed another $1000 because they did not do their job correctly! Moral of the story: I would not let this office do any advanced procedure until you get in writing that your insurance will pay!. I have never, ever given any provider a negative review, but in my mind this is very poor business practice. They also sent my account to collections (again a first for me in 57 years of life) even though I made an initial payment of the balance on 8/19/24. I will also be pursuing a report with the BBB. I just want to save others from the same unfortunate experience.

Dr. Hudson was highly recommended and he and his staff was the medical professionals we contacted after our move. Before we left our last home I had a thorough exam from my dentist of many years and he gave me his full recommendation of what my new dentist should look for and what needed attention. I didn't mention any of this during my first exam with Dr. Hudson but after his exam he made the same exact diagnosis and recommendations. Along with the accurate diagnosis his treatment is very gentle and thorough. Dr. Hudson's personality is very calm and friendly and everyone on the staff is extremely nice. Amy provides my wife and I regularly cleanings and she is very thorough with her exam and cleanings. The waiting area is clean, comfortable, and up to date as are all of the exam and treatment areas. I was surprised at some of the modern equipment, such as the Xray system that captures images without film and provides instant images. I don't think we have ever had to wait more than 5 minutes beyond our scheduled appointment time. If you are looking for a great dentist and with a friendly and accommodating staff I would highly recommend visiting Dr. Hudson's office.

But miraculously, I get an invoice for April 14, 2020 of 96 dollars due. I get a written note on the invoice stating that the insurance sent me the payment?! For what? They also violated HIPAA and text me instead of another Amanda about rescheduling HER appointment! This must be HER bill! But who knows?? I'm not footing your friend's bill. I'm definitely not letting you touch my teeth! This is absurd! Now I get to report this office to the board.

On December 11th 2019 I brought my son…read moreto Children's Dentistry of Rome for his first appt (cleaning, filling/extraction evaluation, root canal and seeking long term care. First, I didnt want to judge a book by its cover but everyone seemed uncomfortably secretive. Parents are not allowed anywhere past the waiting area, we are not allowed in the back to see the facility or communicate with our children in anyway. Phones have to be checked in at the front desk or left with a parent or in your car (no phones past the waiting area). You have 2 levels of door security after the waiting area, the 2nd door has to be buzzed in order to enter. I felt concerened as if they had something to hide, had security issues or safety threats. My son was seen, we were given a plan and made a follow up appt. I found it very strange that the doctor NEVER introduced himself, he never came out to speak to me (the parent) about my son, his findings, address my concerns and I have no clue what he even looks like. The same lady who called him in the back room to be seen was the same lady who escorted him back out. I left feeling disappointed about my 2 hour drive back home and for even choosing this place. Needless to say that I called to cancell his follow up appt and moved on. The following month January 29th 2020 around 11:30am, i was at an appt with a new dental office and I called Children's Dentistry of Rome requesting a copy of my sons xrays to be emailed. The guy who answered the phone immediately asked me in an accusatory tone " May I ask why yiu need the xrays? Are you going to another dentist? After that question could feel his nails coming out! His tone made me feel guilty as if i was doing something wrong. I told him I was at an appt with my children and needed the xrays in order to proceed or they would have to reschedule us. He said " you will need to sign a release form." I was use to this as my son has had jaw surgery, oral surgery & a lengthy med history. I gave him my email. He then began to handle me with lack of care, with no urgency in his voice. His tone sounded more rude and careless, like a "not my problem" tone. I told him that i would be waiting to receice the email at the new office, he then said "unfortunately I wont be able to send the document until 4:30/5pm in the afternoon." Im thinking 4:30/5 in the evening??? I repeated to him that i was at the dr office and needed the xrays in order to proceed, my kids missed school it would be helpful if he could email the document so we can print, scan and have it back to him in no time. He said he was not able to do it until 4:30/5pm. He had the most calm and non caring tone as if he was literally waiting for me to snap and he was taking full pleasure in being difficult. I said to him, "that's not very nice, its only 11:30am I'm asking for help with this matter is there a manager or supervisor who I could speak with since you're so busy." He told me NO and that he was the head in the office today in a very proud tone. I then asked him for his name but i think he gave me a wrong name (Kcaney McStotts) the lady assisting me at the other dental office was looking at me with her mouth wide open in disbelief the whole time, she kept shaking her head. Long story short, i had to just pay for new xrays. Mr McStotts NEVER called me back or sent me an email with my release... and when I called him back at 5:57pm he sings a new song saying that there is a $20 fee for xrays and you have to come in the office in person to release your own records, no one but you could release it. Then i asked if the other dental office could fax a medical release request on my hehalf directly from their office since i live 2 hours away, he said NO. I was so drained, I felt discriminated against. I really hope that they can put their new policies in writing and share this info with their customers prior to service and properly train their staff on their "NEW" policies and to have proper customer service etiquette. I found it interesting that Mr. McStotts was the head of the department but had no knowled of this information at a dentist office, where wanting a copy of your xrays is normal. Some people make up rules as they go and lie to protect themselves. Please put your policies in WRITTING! This whole ordeal with Children's Dentistry of Rome has really affected my sense of power to my right as a parent to first protect my child and second, the right to choose the best medical care for him. My sons name is "Malik" im not sure if his degrading tone came from my sons name, my type of insurance or from my soft tone. Whatever the case, this is my first negative yelp review ever but this review was a MUST. I wanted to review them the first time around and I ignored the feeling and silently moved on but this second incident was a reminder that these people need to be supervised by the Better Business Bureau and future customers.

I was told the doctor wouldn't treat him unless I would allow him to be strapped to the bed! This is so unethical! I was told he wouldn't be able to get any treatment unless taken to the hospital and have sedated. I was mind blown on how horrible they communicate. They tend to be very offensive even over the phone. Will never return. I should've listened to my family member as they had the same feedback I am giving.
