I always meant to do this review but I am finally just now doing it. Up front, I was really impressed with Gordon Sound. Their communication was spot on and they even met with us to get the songs ready for my wedding. In that meeting they went over songs that shouldn't be played at the wedding. Before my wedding day they called me to tell me they couldn't play my walking down the isle song. I panicked because I loved that song within a minute they said they could actually play it. On my wedding day they barely tried to get a microphone to my ceremony so that our guest could hear. They played EVERY song that I said not to. To top it off the DJ asked if they could take our cupcakes to give to the homeless. Feeling uncomfortable, those who were putting them away obliged. My husband and I were extremely bummed with the way the DJ was on our wedding day. I would not recommend this place! read more

I have been renting sound and lighting gear from Gordon Sound for close to 10 years. I have grown to really trust Gus' advice on the right gear for the "room" over that time. I appreciate their commitment to ensuring that my events go off without a hitch. When I return gear they always ask how it worked. I have been hiring them to provide festival/event sound and stage for the last 10 years. He and his staff provide excellent service and my entertainers often comment on how happy they were with the quality of sound and getting loaded in/out. Words can't even begin to describe how flawlessly Gordon sound dj' our wedding. I would have to say music was one of the biggest worries of mine as well as the directing of the crowd. Amy and her assistant Cole were able to not only do those things well but they really made everything run smoother than I could have imagined. We didn't have too big of a dancing crowd... Except for the 15-20 kids ranging from 2-10. I have never seen so many little kids dance for so long. Amy and Cole were able to roll with the punches and cater to the little ones needs. I'd definitely say watching and dancing with all the little ones was one of the best parts. Gordon Sound provided me with sound at an event recently and they are by far the most professional and and experienced sound company I've worked with in a long time! In the past I've used other sound companies that set up the equipment and leave a guy running whose main job is to make sure their gear doesn't get stolen not actually make it sound good. From making sure they had the right equipment for the venue to tweaking the sound during the event once the room was filled with people. Gordon Sound went above and beyond my expectations and I will absolutely use them again! read more

Used then for our September 6th wedding. We dealt with Sunny for the most part. She was good about confirming details and keeping touch regarding details of the event. My biggest negative with them was that when I originally booked I suggested they remain at our venue until an hour before our 9 pm "get out" time. Sunny told me no, that 5 pm would be enough time. Against my better judgement I took her suggestion. When the DJ wrapped up at 5 our guests were asking where the music went since they'd only just finished dessert and had practically ZERO dancing or "free time". Pretty disappointing. In the future I would skip on using them for the reception and just rent their equipment to mic the ceremony and reception. A cousin with an iPod would have probably been just as useful. read more

Really disappointed because our wedding day had many, many technological issues. Including mic cutting in and out for ceremony, not being able to request songs, a handful of the songs not working for our big moments, and many others. To top it all off, they were not kind when I reached out to them about the issues and turned right to the contract where they "protect" themselves by putting a clause about technology not always working. While I fully understand that, I still think better customer service would have went a long way. Would not recommend. read more

First impression: Affordable, small, hip, and fun. My husband and I had our wedding Veteran's Day weekend 2014 at Port Gamble. Gordon Sound was very workable with us and fit our budget options. They had us fill out a detailed script and went through music with us and gave us excellent suggestions for certain dances and entertainment pieces. They spent more time with us than they needed to during the consultation, and for that we are very grateful. DJ V was excellent and interacted with the guests just enough to facilitate a very good reception. His song choices were perfect for the dinner and dancing and was very workable for last minute decisions. Gordon Sound is worth every penny and DJ V was a large contributor to the success of our wedding. Due to Gordon Sound, our wedding ended up being one of the greatest I and our guests have ever seen. Definitely consider this professional for your special day or other large events. read more

Sunny was easy to work with and very helpful with any questions. The packet they give you is so detailed and wonderful that it takes much of the guess work out. We had DJ V who was hilarious and really interacted with everyone. The only thing that was a bummer was that mother nature decided to rain insane amounts and since our ceremony was outdoors we had no music to walk down to! When we got back under cover to finish parts of ceremony, no microphone was set up so we all stood around staring at each other until it was......things happen I guess. read more

One of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding! Very communicative and reasonably priced. Everyone we dealt with was helpful and friendly. Our DJ (Amy!) spent a lot of time getting to know our style and it really showed. Sound for the outdoor ceremony was perfect, dinner music was quirky yet appropriate, and she did a fantastic job reading the crowd during the reception. It can't be easy to keep people dancing at 3 in the afternoon but that's exactly what she did. Also did a great job MCing and keeping things moving. Three weeks since the wedding and I'm still getting compliments on the music. Hire these folks! read more
