Warning - this is going to be a pretty long & very detailed review because I am a very detailed bride (lol). I am also a fellow wedding vendor. My husband & I run The Afterparty Band, a wedding & event show band in Seattle, WA. We actually had worked with Crimson Haze on a couple of events prior to our wedding & thought - wow, what a great couple who clearly know what they're doing & clearly really truly care about the outcome of every event they light. We chatted with them at multiple industry events. We've known about them for years. We had other people & vendors recommend them. So we chatted with them about our wedding, & from the very get-go, we knew they were genuinely excited, genuinely proud of their products & service, & they genuinely cared for us & our special day. Clea & Clayton are also a strong power couple husband & wife team, so we also had that special bond & connection with them. Let's hear it for the boutique family businesses! Clea was great at communication & responsiveness. She always provided links of examples, a thorough & clear proposal for our wedding lighting, & just had the utmost professionalism. She was also very grounded & understanding. We gave them some notes & feedback about what we wanted & didn't want, & they took those notes so well & gave us exactly what we wanted, AND MORE. We hired our band to play at our wedding (of course), and we added on their Dynamic lighting package, & WOW. JUST WOW. It took our performance from, "great band," to "this is the second best thing to the Taylor Swift Concert happening a couple miles away." When they say Dynamic, they mean DYNAMIC. I can't explain exactly what they used, but it was SO COOL. It really turned the band's performance into a show. We had our own private theatrical concert. & we also added the dry ice fog "dancing on the clouds," which turned our first dance into a freaking magical fairytale dream come true. We didn't even realize in the moment how absolutely freaking awesome that looked. Seeing the pictures afterward made me cry. With the sun shining through the windows, it looked like an October morning in Eastern Washington on a farm when you get low fog with sunshine coming through, & you stop & go, "This must be the work of a loving God." You couldn't see the dance floor anymore. It literally looked like we were dancing on the clouds. No joke. It was flawless & definitely in the top 5 highlights from our entire wedding day. We added on a second fog for the very end of the night for the last song (it was "Time to Say Goodbye" into "Don't Stop Believing"), & with all the colors & it being nighttime, it was such a rad & totally different look & feel for the end of the night. The best part was I forgot that we added these fog moments on, & then they just happened right when they were supposed to, & I was surprised & delighted by it all. I highly highly recommend that add-on (do it twice, too!). Also, they hadn't done lighting at The Edgewater Hotel (our wedding venue) before, so they went there ahead of time to make sure they had everything they'd need. They came back with some suggestions & made everything look really great. With the very dramatic side lighting coming in from the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Olympic Ballroom, their lighting was SOOO important. We had actually done a wedding there two weeks prior to our wedding, & that couple did not hire a lighting company, & everything was drastically shadowed. You couldn't see anything, & it was very difficult for the photographer to capture everything without it being too dark or too bright. We had beautiful tables with records for chargers (it was obviously a very music-themed wedding - lol), candles, big flowers, signs, etc., & all of it would have been lost on the side opposite the light source. Instead, because of Crimson Haze & their expertise & the pin spots, you could see it all. Side note, you know you have an experienced professional vendor when you completely forget that they're there, but all these magical things are happening around you. That was Crimson Haze. We don't have a single complaint about them. Only things we loved. (& we can't say that about every vendor we hired). If it's in the budget to have lighting at your wedding, do it & go with Crimson Haze. You won't be sorry or regretful. You will feel absolutely cared for & in good hands. They are one of those rare vendors (& I say this because we consider ourselves one of these rare vendors as well; after being in the business for a number of years, you just know) who go above & beyond for their clients. When my husband and I began researching possible venues for our wedding, we saw photos of the Arctic Club Hotel's Northern Lights Dome Room. While the venue had all of our criteria, the height of he ceiling was what kept me hesitant about booking. You will see further into this review how they helped with our ceiling, lol! As we were deciding between our two venues, I was in awe when I saw more photos of the Arctic Club ceiling with lighting from Crimson Haze. I knew it would be the perfect venue, and Crimson Haze would be a perfect vendor. Crimson Haze's lighting, was one out of the big reasons we decided to book with the Arctic Club. I reached out to Crimson Haze shortly after we reserved our venue and Clea emailed back with a VERY DETAILED package that included all of their services and pricing. The rest is what they call history - Clea and Clayton were such a pleasure to work with. After sending Clea a draft of our wedding timeline, colors and details of the decorations we were having (a wall of fake flowers and some drapes) she responded back with suggestions she thought would be beautiful with our ideas. Now, though she suggested them, not once did we feel any pressure to say yes to them. I loved how she included a very detailed explanation of the suggestions, and most of the time even included a photo of what she was describing. I perceived that these photo examples were not going to be exact, but it was great in that in provided a visual of what something would look like; which is HUGE when planning an event. They had many ideas that turned out wonderful in the wedding, but this review will go on so I'll just explain one highlight, lol! They asked if we wanted the dome room ceiling to be as bright as possible for our ceremony. In the end, it made our ceiling look higher than what it really was - which is what I wanted all along! *Tears shedding as I type this, lol!* It looked BEAUTIFUL. A few minutes before walking down the aisle, I told myself to refrain from expecting so much out of the decorations and to focus on my groom - the marriage is the highlight, after all. When the doors opened, I was completely blow away with every detail! The lighting really was the last and most significant puzzle piece that pulled everything together! That was the icing on top of the cake when we said, "I do!" The room was transformed into something more than what I could have ever imagined. Working with Clea and Clayton from Crimson Haze was one of the best decisions we've ever made for our wedding. One of the first things we absolutely knew we wanted was a large disco ball installation with chandeliers. We worked with Clea and Clayton to try to see if it was possible to execute in our venue, which did not have any rigging points in the ceilings to support something like this. However, they were able to work with the venue to get them installed. We went through a couple different iterations of how the installation should look and Clea and Clayton were extremely attentive and brought back 3D models for us to review over email and to every meeting. As we iterated on the design, they were very quick to send over any changes to make sure we were aligned with the final vision. Once we finalized on the design, my husband and I just sat back and Clea and Clayton took care of everything around getting the rigging points installed and prepped for our wedding day. We also had a vision to have a surreal vibe and it was great and very fun to think through this process with them. They had so many different ideas and really brought our space to life with dynamic colored string lights that started off as a warm glow during the ceremony and then switched to different colors during dinner. They truly got all the vibes and feelings right on our wedding day. It was so great to be able to fully trust them to apply their expertise to execute our vision. On our actual wedding day with the disco ball installation, Clea and Clayton also knocked it out of the park by having disco ball lighting on our guests during cocktail hour and then really bringing the party with all the lighting on the dance floor. We had asked for a laser effect, similar to what you saw with disco shark in the yuma tent at coachella, and they delivered. The dance floor was insane and our guests said it was the most fun wedding they've ever attended. We are so lucky to have met Clea and Clayton. We were married at Block41 in Belltown in October and wanted a moody, romantic vibe and to do things that have never been done at a wedding we've attended before. Clea & Clayton helped our vision come to life. ell this is long overdue, my wife and I got married in 2019 and Crimson Haze Lighting did all of the lighting for our event from the ceremony through the reception, to say they were exceptional would be an understatement. From the first meeting we had with Clea we knew they were the ones for us. Clea's level of attention to detail is second to nine and they're experience and expertise made the entire process of planning the lighting for our event extremely easy. To be honest the hardest part was deciding what NOT to use in our wedding. They had so many fun options and capabilities that everything seemed like it would be super fun. Working through the details of our wedding was super easy and a ton of fun. On the day of the wedding is where they really set themselves apart. They were super accommodating to us, and paid attention to details that were not part of they're responsibilities. Foe example, my now mother in law watched Clayton work with the venue when he realized that the chairs for our ceremony were not set up in a clean row. Minor details like that is what makes all the difference when looking back through your photos and we couldn't appreciate what they did for us more. We recently worked with Crimson Haze for our October wedding at The 101. Although The 101 is a beautiful venue, it's a blank canvas. Clea was extremely knowledgeable and I really appreciated her clear communication, quick responses, willingness to answer questions, and explanation of what she thought would look best in our venue. We opted for ceremony lighting, pinspotting, and a monogram, and thanks to Clea it was a stress-free process, and the results were beautiful. We used Crimson Haze for our wedding and did both market lighting and archway draping--both looked gorgeous. They had a professional relationship with our venue (and likely others) so they were able to setup early and tear down late, which made things easier for our other vendors to navigate during setup. Clea was our point of contact and was consistently responsive, kind, and flexible during two covid-related postponements early in the pandemic. We used Crimson Haze for our wedding at Fremont Foundry in March 2019. Communication was quick and easy, always. We contracted to have string "bistro" lights above the atrium (the greenery pictured below was added by our florist) and pin-spot lights for the ceremony backdrop, our DIY photo booth, and the cake/donut wall setup to make sure those places had extra lighting. We loved seeing the final product and got several compliments for the effect the lighting had on the overall setup. I'd highly recommend working with CH and would use them again if needed. read more

Holy heck - don't you DARE consider hosting an event without the Crimson Haze crew! I hosted a 700 person party at a gorgeous industrial space last night in Seattle and without the proper lighting, even the prettiest venues can't save your space. When it comes to lighting it's not just about making a room glow in color or having special lighted areas or fog machines, etc. Even the most basic uplighting can make a venue bright and beautiful after the sun goes down. And that's where I'll be eternally grateful to this company! The party ended just after sunset and so natural light was on its way out about halfway through. But more than that, they had the expertise to suggest different styles of lighting to really show off what they do best, while also showing off the space. Which isn't just setting lights up to brighten a space, but also setting up lights to set the mood and tone of an event. This included various lighting effects, colored lights, and more. I was absolutely stunned with how transformed the space was because of something seemingly so simple. And that's just it - it's NOT simple at all! They're such pros and experts that my event literally could not have been pulled out without them. I arrived onsite to set up about 5.5 hrs before the event. Plenty of time to set tables, set out linens, etc. But you know who was there before me? Crimson Haze! They were early, they stayed late, they adjusted, re-adjusted, and made everything perfect. Even when I threw in a couple of speed bumps and made last minute changes at the event. They were professional, kind, generous, and talented. I just can't say enough about how grateful I am that they were there. More than planning events for a living, I'm planning my own wedding soon, too. I'll definitely be giving them a call back to help with that event as well. read more
