This place nearly ruined our special day We reserved sound equipment weeks in advance. The night before pickup, the guy sent an email that went to spam. We went to pick up that morning, and it was a storage facility! he didn't answer his phone for about a half an hour, and then when finally he did answer, he said that he wouldn't be available to meet us until 4:00 four, the time of the wedding! I rented a speaker package for an outdoor waterfront wedding reception. Paul was very helpful and made sure the package I chose was appropriate for the large outdoor space. He also set up the system at his office to show me how it all worked. Paul was extremely flexible for pickup and drop off as well. He saved me a trip by letting me pickup the system earlier than I had first requested. (I was in the area picking up guests that had flown in). I just gave him a call and he met me at his office after he was done with another delivery. The same goes for drop-off as I had a little too much fun at the party and wasn't going to make it Sunday afternoon like we had previously planned. I sent him a text and again Paul was extremely accommodating and allowed me to drop the speakers off the next morning instead. We needed sound equipment for a public meeting at Green Lake and contacted Seattle Event Rentals after receiving slow responses from other companies nearer to us. Seattle Event Rentals was prompt, very responsive in helping us understand our needs, and overall nice to work with. We ended up not needing SER's services in the end because, as it turned out, the host for our meeting had the necessary equipment. At that point, we offered to pay SER for the time they had spent working with us, but they declined, simply asking that we keep them in mind next time around. We used SER for sound equipment for our wedding in September. The equipment Paul brought and set up all worked great and the package was exactly what we needed. I'd give him 5 stars for actual quality of goods! After our wedding, we noticed that the price we were charged was greater than the amount agreed to in our contract. When we contacted him about this, he argued that the price he had set and signed off on in our contract wasn't fair for the services agreed upon and refused to issue a refund. Ultimately, he did apologize and refund us (at first just in part, then the rest), but still blamed us for somehow taking advantage by agreeing to the deal he offered. During this exchange, he was horribly unprofessional and rude to us. At the end of the day, I *would* recommend Seattle Event Rentals to others, but would definitely advise keeping a copy of your signed contract and checking it against the final charge. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. It's a SCAM. We tried to rent sound equipment for my wedding, tried being the key word here. I sent over the contract and all the information, set up delivery and pick up times, emailed a week prior to confirm everything was ready and got a response telling us we were all set. Then on the day of the wedding, the delivery time comes and goes. Now it is getting close to the ceremony start time, and no sound equipment. Tried calling all the numbers in the email signature and listed on the website from multiple numbers, including leaving voicemails. I even sent an email hoping someone might see it. No response on they say, and I still have not heard from them. Although they did conveniently call my sister back who called from an unknown number and didn't leave a voicemail, so I know they are avoiding us. Left us hanging last minute on our wedding day with no time to find alternate arrangements. Worst customer experience of my life. read more

I will add to the accolades given here and say that my experience with SER was very positive. I had a last minute need to rent an outdoor PA system and Paul was very responsive in attending to my request. Pickup and return were both very easy and I was in constant contact with Paul via email, phone, and text. He even threw in an aux cable free of charge when I said we had to plug in a keyboard to the system. I think the rental agreement called for returning equipment by 1pm the next day, but Paul was very flexible and allowed us to make a return anytime during the day without penalty. The company I work for does events. A client wanted a sound system in one of our venues that we currently didn't have a sound system in a couple days before the event. In a scramble I found Seattle event rentals and I was so excited because Paul said he could help. The day before the event we are still trying to pay for the equipment and at 10 AM Paul says he will be in the office at 12 and that he will call us to take CC info. At 2 we start calling every 30 minutes to pay. Nothing. No explanation. All of our attempts to pay were met by a voicemail. Accusing your customer of intimidation simply because the customer ask for assistance in getting the equipment set up is not good customer service by any stretch. Had I not witness this myself, it would be hard to believe. Paul is short-sighted in thinking that a dissatisfied customer can be shouted into submission.
