Extremely unprofessional and the prior owner would never allow the shop to be disgraced this way. To top it off, I got short acrylics. Typically my sets were $45 with a longer acrylic... yet they charged me 160! I asked the lady why she charged me so much, and she just stuttered and made up excuses and stated my nails were "long". I arrived around 11:06, and when I walked in, I overheard one of the nail techs say that I was scheduled for 11:15, which was confusing because that was not the time I was given through text. I then sat and waited for about 30-40 minutes with absolutely no communication about the delay. I completely understand that salons get busy, and I would have been totally fine waiting 15-20 minutes if someone had simply communicated that to me. The frustrating part was being told I had an 11:00 appointment, then waiting 30-40 minutes for two broken nails to be fixed without anyone letting me know what was going on or how much longer it would be. I'm disappointed because I genuinely love this salon and have had great experiences here before. I just think communication could have made this situation much better. If you're running behind, please let your clients know instead of scheduling them for a time when they may end up waiting much longer. The polish itself turned out fine, but my concerns are with the service and sanitation practices I observed. My pedicure started with cold water in the foot bath. When the tub wouldn't drain properly, the technician attempted to unclog it with a chopstick and accidentally tore the disposable liner in the process. I was then asked to put my feet back into the tub with the torn liner. I had to specifically ask to move to another chair with an intact liner. During the pedicure, the technician also used cuticle cutters to clip skin from the bottoms of my feet/toes, which I have never experienced during a pedicure and left areas of my skin visibly irritated afterward. I also became increasingly concerned about sanitation. The tools did not appear to be stored in disinfectant, and the "hot stones" were brought over loose in a visibly dirty plastic basket that had debris/residue in it. The stones themselves were barely lukewarm. By the end of the appointment, I was genuinely uncomfortable with what I had observed and regretted not leaving earlier. Again, the finished polish looks fine, and I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but sanitation is far more important to me than how good the polish looks. Luckily, they did provide a $25 partial refund, but thereafter asked that I do not return to the salon. Perfectly fine by me! I will NEVER be returning.
