I had a really disappointing experience with this dental office. From the start, they made it very obvious that appointments were only "easy" to get if you had insurance they recognized. When I provided the name of my insurance, instead of checking or asking for details, they immediately judged my ability to pay just because they were unfamiliar with the company. It felt unprofessional and uncomfortable, like I was being evaluated financially rather than treated as a patient. Insurance names change all the time. That's not an excuse to make assumptions or treat someone differently. A dental office should be focused on patient care, not making people feel embarrassed or dismissed over insurance. I think the staff does a great job of trying to portray customer service. However I went in as a new customer and getting an appointment very easy however, I did not know that I was walking into a sales pitch. I would rate this office a 3 out of 5. I've had cleanings here with no problem. I came back with gum pain in one specific area and had them take x-rays to see what the problem was and I felt like my concerns were a bit ignored? I went back 3/20 For the same issue and the was told I have bone loss/infection. This office referred me to a periodontist at their office on 5/14? I called back with a gut feeling i should probably be seen sooner and asked if there was anyway to get in quicker than 5/14??? The front office said yes and scheduled me at another office. Im just confused why that wasn't an option in the first place considering i had a whole infection/bone loss? And wasn't even given antibiotics for the issue? read more

We popped in as they have a $39.00 exam, x-rays and cleaning along with a "walk ins welcome" on their building. We thought, okay, let's walk in. My husband had a chipped tooth from where he had some bonding and we needed that fixed ASAP. They got him in right away and as we checked out they offered us $100.00 off if we were to bring in a toy for The Children's Hospital. Well, I needed an exam so back I went today (the next day) with toys in hand. Hubby said that he felt that the dentist kind of rushed the job and did ask for something to be smoothed out. You can imagine how apprehensive I was now for my visit. Well, everything went really well. They did ask me about some extras but I didn't want them and they didn't make me feel pressured or bad with my "no" response. They asked if I wanted fluoride and a cancer screening if you are wondering about the extras. The gal who took my X-Rays was very nice and they do a cool job as they use digital and 3D pictures which was neat to see. Brandi, who checked my gums and did my cleaning was a doll. Just super friendly people. The office has lots of parking and is very clean. The dentist was very nice. read more

My second and third opinion did not recommend it and gave me an amazing teeth health reviews. On January 17th came in for my kids cleaning. I was told my son needed his wisdom teeth pulled that day. Set up the appointment for his wisdom teeth to get pulled on Friday March 22 at 845am. We get there for his appointment and told it was never made. Not even an apology even though I even made a deposit. I went to Goodyear Modern Dentistry for routine cleaning. I was told by hygienist Victoria Myers, RDH during the periodontal charting I needed laser treatment among other things. The staff member gave me a quote for over $600. I told them I just want me teeth cleaned like normal. They refused to do a routine cleaning. I only had a couple 4's and 5's in the charting I wanted to keep any eye on it myself. Knowing their billing had been shady in the past, I insisted they just do a cleaning and they continued Trying to bully me into expensive treatment. I walked out without a cleaning. They also harassed my daughter about the getting fluoride treatment. she said it makes her sick and yet they asked her repeatedly as well as myself to get it done. There billing in the past at this location had been suspect. I would not recommend this dental practice. read more

So I've been looking for a new dentist and I was in the area shopping where I noticed the sign. I made an appointment, arrived it is a new place and I was immediately greeted by the Office Manager who I had great conversation with and for the life of me I can't recall his name... Chris? I was then called back for X-rays and then to the exam room. Dr Pema came in greeted me I explained what a big chicken I am and he was extremely sweet and gentle checked in on me quite often as I received 2 crowns same visit... actual crowns... not temps. Everything went so smoothly even with me being completely terrified the noises just really get to me... but I felt very much at ease. The hygienist Brandi was so very sweet and explained things to me as she was doing them. Mary.. I know it has another name with it Lynn?? So sorry I can't recall the name either but she did my xrays and assisted the Dr with my procedure she was very sweet as well. Not once did I feel judgement on my teeth... I have always had a complex about them even though I have been working on making them better. I had a great experience I would definitely recommend them, and I'll definitely be coming back. I'm updating my review as I have not been back and will not go back. They had told me I absolutely needed a crown for a cracked tooth and I took their advice and have received not one but FOUR denial letters from my insurance saying it was a superficial crack and absolutely NOT needed! Fast forward 6 months I now have a major infection on the tooth they put a crown on, which the emergency dentist broke trying to get to the tooth underneath and I'm not even done paying for it... YAY I'm paying 1000 for a crown that I had for a whopping 6 months and now have to have a root canal and a new crown! I never had issues with that tooth and I'm so pissed at myself for trusting their word but honestly 4 damn denial letters! And now I'm in this mess with my tooth and extreme pain have missed over a week of work! A couple days after posting my updated review an office manager or some higher up management reached out to me I forgot her name, she had wanted to talk about my review. I had let her know what had been going on and how I was still receiving denial letters from my insurance over the same tooth and how I had spoken with my insurance and how they said it was not needed and now I was in the situation I was in.. she had told me that insurances kind of always do this but clearly I had an issue if 6 months later I needed a root canal, she explained that I wouldn't be charged for the crown that was denied and that they would replace my broken one for free. So I decided to give it another shot, I arrive this morning and the office staff pleasant as always, the assistant who took X-rays was also very pleasant. Dr Pema came in asked what had been going on and then took off the temporary covering sealed and then made me a brand new crown, he was great checking in on me making sure I was comfortable. While I was waiting on my crown being made I saw Brandi for a cleaning and she was great, she's very nice and puts you at ease... I also had her clean my son's teeth as well he wasn't quite due for one for another month so insurance wouldn't cover this cleaning but school starts tomorrow so I wanted them cleaned for him. I explained to her my son is special needs has sensory issues and she was awesome with him. I also saw the periodontist as well I need another procedure which doesn't sound fun at all but during my consult he was very nice and personable explained everything to me. I do like this place and they are gentle and have awareness when someone is scared to make them at ease. I am coming back to continue my treatment with Brandi and will continue to use them in the future. read more

This is the best dental team I have experienced thus far. The entire staff honestly treated me like I was family. They have lots of useful recommendations for my dental health and made sure to make recommendations that weren't breaking the bank. The receptionist and office manager gave me incredible customer service. They took my through my insurance clearly, offered me all the options I had, and made sure I completely understood everything that would be happening on the billing side. The dentist and hygienist were very clear in the procedures they were performing as well. They even walked me through some of the things they were doing while they were doing them since I'm naturally very curious about what procedures are being done and how. Worst experience I've ever had. If you are needing a lot of dental work, or have really bad teeth, and trying to have them fixed... don't go to this dentist. I was already embarrassed going in, having not been able to afford dental work, so my teeth are in awful condition. However, having this dentist shame me, as well as questioning me as to why I haven't been to a dentist was beyond humiliating. Then to be told the cost, from $50,000.00 to the $10,000.00 range.. and the "flexible payment " is a joke. This dentist has no compassion. I regret ever going there. read more

Just moved from California and need to establish dental care for myself and Orthodontist treatment for my daughter. My daughter went in for 4 teeth removals, all at once. They improperly numbed her so she felt everything. Our Initial treatment was standard but they could not perform cleaning by a RDA bc shortage of staff. I came in for my appointment and was informed it was canceled (I was not informed prior to this) needless to say it kept getting worse. I was left with a half completed treatment because they were understaffed again, the cleaning started then someone else came in to clean up and I did not see the RDA but she told me she would be back. I waited another 3 months for an opening. But a crown came off so I went in to see Dr. Parma, the root needed to be pulled out and an endodontist came in for a pricy procedure. That was the most HORRIFIC procedure ever. The oral surgeon came in told me he had a lot of cases that morning really that's all he said he put on his gloves put a swab of topical numbing (did not wait for the medication to take effect) injection of lidocaine all within the same minute the injections were so painful I cried and could not breathe he was so quick in and out did not even look at me to see if I was ok. Very expensive procedure to be treated WORSE than a working farm animal. Then three days later I was contacted by the dental office to confirm a deep cleaning .????$500+ procedure. I informed them I JUST had oral surgery and I pain, sutures and told I was "OHH" Well are you coming? Case and point I moved from there and am looking for different dental office. My advice DONT COME HERE! read more

I called the office after I found out I needed a couple fillings from another office. I have severe anxiety when it comes to any dental work. And the original office didn't offer any nitrous for fillings. I spoke with Christine/a (front desk) about my concerns. And she was extremely understanding, patient and kind. She assured me that I would be in good hands. So we scheduled my first visit; which was supposed to be an exam, recommendation of treatment and fillings same day (per our discussion). My appointment was supposed to allot enough time for what we'd discussed. But when I arrived, I was told that I was only scheduled for a "limited" exam. And told to come back for the "full" exam, cleaning and fillings. When I arrived sweet Christine was there to greet me. She even offered a warm blanket as I was wearing a spaghetti-strapped dress. And she didn't want me to be cold. The Dental Assistant was also very sweet and comforting (initially). Right up until Dr. Pema came in, to do the "full" exam. After he finished, I was told that I would need to fillings on separate days. I was disappointed but silent. I had mustered up enough courage to do this (again)... And now I'm being told I have to split the treatment up. Dr. Pema looked at me and said "I know you're angry". And I expressed to him that I was not angry, rather disappointed, because there was an expectation set at the first appointment that wasn't met. And this was my second visit, having another expectation set, and it was not met. Especially when it took quite a bit of effort and nerve on my part to get the work done, and facing my anxiety. My concerns... were met with disdain. He accused me of being angry. To which I responded that I wasn't "angry" just frustrated that the front desk had set expectations that the work would be completed 'that' day. And I also recommended that he as the treating physician, should maybe speak to the other staff, to ensure that realistic expectations were set. Especially, for a patient with high anxiety. Again, my comments were met with disdain. As he continued to explain to me that he couldn't do the work in one visit, I asserted that I understood his position (fully and totally). But, my stance was, had that been explained prior to that visit... I would have had a more realistic expectation for that day and visit. As someone who suffers from anxiety, knowing what to expect is huge for me. Patient care is also a collaborative effort. And a patient should be able to ask questions, or express concerns about their treatment plan, and their overall experience from the front desk to the exam chair. But at this office, that isn't the case. There was a few minutes long back and forth about my concerns, and Dr. Pema ultimately asserted that this may not be the practice for me. That was the first thing he said, that I did agree with. I removed the apron and blanket that was provided to me... grabbed my purse and headed for the front door. But not before speaking with Virginia, the office manager. She listened and expressed that she understood my concerns. And offered to "speak" with Dr. Pema. All while the dental assistant, stood close by, looking for any opportunity to discredit my version of events. Do not visit this practice. read more

Ive been having extreme tooth pain, called in the afternoon and they were able to book an emergency appointment the very next morning. I was extremely nervous due to never being dentist on my own with out my parents and with my own insurance. When I showed up Christina at the front desk was extremely nice, after that Dr. Mondana Shamsazar listened to what I was experiencing and checked everything that I told her bothered me, she explained what I needed in detail and provided a 3 step treatment due to having several issues. Now for the part I was the most anxious about THE PAYMENT! When Christina and I talked about what my insurance covers and how the payments would work for the 3 step treatment, she was very clear, she had a chart explaining what my insurance covers, if im being honest she basically thought me how insurance works, she had the prices for every single thing that was going to be done. Very very happy with my experience! I give a 4 star because I haven't been back for the treatment due to work schedule being in the middle of everything.(will update after treatment) read more

GMD is amazing. Their team is super charming and great at what they do. They have lots of options to make payments easy, such as Service Sundays, a discount rate on your first appointment, and payment plans for major procedures. I recently got several fillings and a root canal from Dr. Pema, who worked swiftly and caused minimal pain. Everyone there from the receptionists to the assistants are really nice and chill. They're also super clean and use lots of new, advanced technology. I am so glad I started going here! Definitely will recommend to friends and fam. Horrible experience wouldn't go back ever. The dentist Pema is completely unprofessional and is just concerned about getting paid. I went in for a cracked tooth I've never had any cavities and only this one tooth filled. Pema stated I needed a crown to fix it. As soon as he found out I could pay he ran out of the room. No one explained the procedure no one walked me through the process. He shot me 5-6 times with a huge needle. I got nervous and asked him to explain what was happening. He stated I should know. I told him all anyone said was that were taking a mold of my tooth to place over my tooth. He then told me I should have asked questions. I said it's his job to give all the details to a patient before starting any work. He got livid and said he wouldn't work on my tooth because I was too emotional. Even after I agreed to go through with it. He assured me I wouldn't have to pay for anything. That was a lie I got charged for the shots in my mouth that also left my mouth numb for over 6 hrs! Good thing I left. I went to my regular doctor and he said my tooth just needed a simple fill and no crown was necessary. Do not trust them with your dental care. We switched to this office about a year and a half ago. It was a great experience from the beginning. Appointments are typically right on time and all the staff is very friendly from the front door all the way to the back. My 11-year-old son got braces today and, again, a great experience. Everyone made my son feel comfortable and the doctor was amazing with him. We were happy with our previous dental office, but my employer changed our dental plan and that office did not accept our new insurance. Very disappointed with the lack of service today. I show up for an orthodontist appt for my daughter and was told my son (7yrs) has to wait in the lobby. Sorry but no child of mine will be left by themselves in the lobby. I got off work early, rushed to pick kids up from school to make it there and was surprised with the turn out. I called and talked to the manager and all she could do was apologize and say sorry this is our protocol. Well I'm sorry but your protocol should be to let your patients know only 1 person is allowed in the back when I confirmed the appointment with your office and online screening confirmation. Dr Simpson has been great to us and my kids, my husband and I also would get our routine check ups here. Because of the lack of communication and no accommodation or exception this 1 time they have lost all of our business. Very tiring to deal with this dentist location for my invisalign. I feel that they enjoyed wasting my time going back and forth and the lady that works there (Rebecca) kept having the same excuse of getting the information from my last dentist and kept getting the wrong forms or not receiving any info. I am totally confused. I received a phone call from Angel saying that my invisaligns are in, so I was really excited. Made the appt for today at 12:30. I had to cut class for this and went there, the dr. only checked my teeth for like less than 5 mins then saying my invisaligns are not in. I feel that they're very unorganized with their paperwork and appts. And then he said that I would have to do some online forms by myself. I already paid $5200 something for this whole process for my invisalign and I still have to waste so much time and now I have to fill out something online to get my invisaligns??? This is ridiculous. I just took my 94 year old mother to Dr Pema for a cracked front tooth. The assistant was extremely gentle and nice with my mom while they got pictures of the tooth. The doctor was great. I consider myself a skepitc when reading online reviews. As such, I was a bit apprehensive of all the positive reviews for Goodyear Modern Dentistry while looking for a new provider. But I decided to take a chance and called for a new patient appointmet. Based on my experience the reviews are completly warranted! From my first phone contact to my appointment with the office staff, assistant, hygienist and Dr. Pema, I was extremly pleased with my experience. The facility is less than two years old and is as clean as one would expect. Modern is in their name and the technology at this office is years ahead of what I had experienced the past, and they were not old facilities. I was in need of my semi annual cleaning and a crown repair. After my evaluation I was given options for the crown replacement and Dr. Pema fabricated it on site and for an extreamly reasonable fee. THANK YOU, Dr. Pema. You and your staff are the epitiome of professionalism. I shall see you again in six months! read more
