BUYER BEWARE. Klis auto repair of 3040 Jericho tpke are very DISHONEST and SCAMMED us. We had our car towed there by AAA. They next morning Klis called us and stated over a telephone conversation estimate is $3,500.00. We knew this was too much and the rep admitted on the phone they have to put car on lift to look further. We asked how can you give estimate before looking. We told them DO NOT do any work we will be moving the car. When we arrived at klis they would NOT release car unless we paid $187 .00 for work done. Then they changed their story and said charge was for estimate. However, we DID NOT authorize estimate nor did they ever tell us they would charge for an estimate. They refused to give us keys. They said "we are done talking to you and you're not getting your keys ". They were rude and aggressive. They threatened to put a mechanic lien on the car, but a mechanics lien is only permitted after work is performed. They DID NOT do any work. I ended up having car fixed at an honest repair shop for $300.00. Please see all the other negative posts on here. They tow to their yard then scam you because they have possession of your vehicle. I don't go there anymore, but my daughter dropped the car off for alignment. They call her later- you need a new battery! We had to jumpstart the car!!! Twice!!! The car has less than 30k miles on it and is well cared for. The battery is about 4 years old, but Honda specs it at 6-10 years. I go over there to pick the car up and the guy now HAS TO give ME the same story. Tells me he's gonna have to jumpstart it for me if i want to leave, so i said fine. Just get it. What he didn't see was - I remotely started the car before i walked in. Comes back- says- "just watch that battery " and scurries away. Cashier does the paperwork and i leave. Took defective tire there to get replaced on my new vehicle. They scratched my rim. Went back because I had a flat, they scratched a second rim. They attempted to get both rims fixed and the new wheels were spray painted, not professionally, but by a guy that helps them out, a different color. They sent the wheels out again, and did all 4 wheels this time. The wheels came back with blemishes, overspray, and all four of the inside of the wheels looked like someone dragged them across the concrete. Corporate advised to place a claim against this store, and is still in progress. I got a flat, took it in, manager said he refuses to touch my wheels now because everytime I come in, I have a problem. He says any goodyear I go to, will do the same thing and scratch my wheels because they have a touch-less system that isnt touchless and wil scratch the wheels. So rather than fix my tire, he insisted he refund me the tire protection plan, and I go to the dealer from now on. All I needed for them to do was fix my tires, and they cannot do so on aluminum rims without scratching them. So, if you care about your rims, and the rest of your vehicle, stay away from this store. read more

Took 1h 40 to patch a tire. What a joke. I have had this same repair performed 20-40+ times and never had to wait more than 20-40min, Don't go here. Go to Mavis or anything else in the area for this kind of repair. After posting this it appears that the owner saw and said "Thanks for the review" like it's my fault that his service is slow. He didn't charge me like it was out of spite, like thanks but I would of paid. He just handed me the key. I asked the guy at the front if it was going to take long and if so I don't care about going somewhere else. He asked in the back and I heard a tech in the back eagerly say yes. An engine belt snapped and every shop I went to was either closed or swamped with work and only a few minutes to being closed. Took my fleet car to Goodyear for an oil change, tire rotation and inspection. When I went to leave I saw that they billed my company for an alignment and resurfacing all 4 rotors. I asked why they did that and Alex gave me a bunch of nonsense that it was required maintenance. The car only has 16,000 miles. I called the fleet company and they said that it was allowed because I told them hat the brakes were pulsating. I never told them that. I then took it to a reputable place who put it on a lift and showed me that the factory chalk marks were still intact which means the rotors were never removed. They also never rotated the tires. They are a bunch of liars and crooks; stay away! read more

When my tire sensor light came on as I was about to leave LI NY for Philly, it was my luck to be 2 blocks from the Commack Goodyear store. They were very busy (not many places open the day after Christmas), but still managed to get someone to check the air in my tires, and discovered a nail in the rear tire causing a leak. They confirmed it could be repaired, and took care of it in a very timely manner to get me back on the road. Everyone I came in contact with was professional and courteous, and provided outstanding customer service. I went here because my tire pressure light went on and they were local to where I was that morning...2 hours later they come out and tell me I have a slew of issues I need to get fixed costing up to $2000. I felt so frustrated because this wasn't the first time I've had a place tell me I need to get a bunch of work done when in reality my car has 160,000 miles on it and is 11 years old. The only thing I got done that day was replaced a tire because they said it was balding and it was plugged up before. After getting a second opinion with my regular mechanic he told me that most of the things they listed are to just get my money, some of them were complete bs. One example is they said I have a leak in my transmission which my mechanic said wasn't true. On top of that they said I needed an oil change and was overdo meanwhile I already knew that I still had 600 miles left before I needed to do that and put them in their place on that immediately. As a woman I'm so genuinely frustrated by getting scammed for not knowing enough about cars. Thankfully I have a very trustworthy mechanic who I go out of my way for because he's amazing, unfortunately he wasn't local in the moment and I was nervous I may get a flat so I didn't want to take my chances. But I really wish I went out of my way to check reviews because after seeing the reviews after my experience it made so much sense. On top of that when I finally did get back my car the glove box was disconnected and left on the floor of my car. Why do they think this is the appropriate way to give back someone's car? I had to go back in after that whole ordeal and ask them to fix it. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because the gentleman at the front desk was very nice but the mechanic(s) who handled my car are idiots and should not be handling cars. Nobody go to Goodyear in commack to get breaks done!!! they will give you non ceramic pads and tell you they're ceramic and purposely not note what kind of breaks that put on your vehicle. They are incompetent and dishonest its funny they think a girl knows nothing about cars but we all know black break dust is a result of non ceramic pads ! I went into Goodyear @ Commack Rd & Jericho Tnpk, for my car's annual safety inspection. They brought the car in after only a few minutes of waiting. From the waiting room, I saw them put my car on a lift and raise it all the way up, when most inspectors just plug in the diagnostic tool to check for emissions issues, and do a quick walkthrough. "Uh-oh," I thought. "They're either doing an overly thorough inspection or they're putting on a big show." I couldn't see everything the mechanic was doing, but, about five minutes later, he called me to show me a few red drops on the floor. "You're leaking steering fluid. Here's a print-out of how much it'll cost," he said. It was for $500. I could not believe what I was seeing or hearing. "Well, that's kind of funny," I replied, "because, I'm a backyard mechanic who checks his cars almost every week, and there hasn't been a single drop of anything, EVER! Now, how do you explain that?" He didn't say a word, and just stared at me. "Call the manager, right now." He froze for a second, then said, "He isn't going to say anything different." Ah. Now, I *knew* I was being scammed. "Get the manager, NOW." He froze again, but managed to say, "Sir, your car still has two weeks on the sticker. You failed, but, I'm not going to give you a rejection sticker. You can go after you pay." "I'm not leaving this bay until my car is down and out, and the keys back in my hand." He did so. I locked the car, walked into the shop, and, with about 6 other customers waiting, said, not overly loud, but, in a commanding voice, "I want to see the manager, right now." The clerk said, "You'll have to wait your turn." "Fine," I said, in the same voice, "I'll just call the police, while I'm waiting." I pulled my cell phone out and started to push the speed dial (I always have the local police numbers in my contact list, wherever I'm travelling, just in case). The clerk immediately got on the intercom. "Manager to the front desk." A few minutes later (I hadn't put the police call through), the manager comes in, and tried to get me into his office. I declined, quickly recapped what had happened in front of everyone, and accused his mechanic (not him, necessarily) of fraud, and said that I wasn't letting my car out of my sight, and he had two choices: Pass the car and I'll pay or let me go without paying. He opted for the latter. While I waited for the manager, the clerk tried to talk a woman with a nail in her tire tread (not the sidewall, which would require a replacement as opposed to a repair), that she needed to replace all four tires. Fortunately, she realized from me that she was being ripped off, so, she said, "I'll have to wait until my husband gets home," and left. I overheard another customer whisper an expletive, and he got up, and said he wanted his keys back. The clerk gave them to him, all the while staring death beams at me, and that customer left. The car passed inspection at another garage. When I got home, later that day, I opened the hood, and found fresh, power steering fluid on top of my car battery, which is well above the power steering pump and hoses! After cleaning the bogus residue from the battery and beneath the car, where the "inspector" had, clearly, squirted drops of power steering fluid, it hasn't "leaked" anything since. That was two years ago. I had contacted the local Better Business Bureau and the Town of Huntington and Smithtown (I'm still not sure who has jurisdiction) about the blatant rip-off. They took my information, but, as far as I know, nothing came of it. I wouldn't go into this place for an oil change, much less a crooked inspection. (I can't wait to see Goodyear's response to this, if they deign to do so: I'm mistaken? The problem fixed itself? The "inspector" and/or manager was fired and that I should come in for a freebie? No way in hell to any of those). P.S. In case you're wondering why it took me so long to write this, it was because I was furious, and couldn't write without seeing anything but red. I had forgotten about it, until I took the same car into the "good" garage, where it, once again, passed with flying colors, though he warned me that both my battery and tires would need to be changed before the next inspection, which I already knew.
