Board game and puzzle haul
Vivian N.

Prices have gone up a lot for board games and kids toys and furniture since 3 years ago. Still love their book celebration

17.99 EACH. For a bucket.

I'm all about making a profit. But whoever is doing the pricing here has lost their mind. A while ago I asked the sweet boy at the register if a vintage vase was priced wrong and some hag monster came running out of the back screaming at him that that was the price she found online. Okay, Goodwill hag monster. The price found online is curated by people who buy these pieces and resell them. Goodwill runs on donations. FREE merchandise that goes out to the consumer for an outrageous price. I went today and found a medium sized pot with a fake flower arrangement stuck in it for $24.99! . (Sorry, I covered up the price to see if my friend could guess anywhere near the price, she couldn't) And two old 49er buckets from Lowes for 17.99 EACH!!!!! For a bucket!!! That holds dirt!! Each!!!!! This isn't Etsy! This is a run by donation store where the consumer does most of the work. Please get your pricing together, Goodwill. This isn't West Elm. This is stuff out of grandma's garage.

Let's start out by explaining my thoughts on donations. 1) I don't donate junk 2) if it too worn for myself or daughter, I'm not going to donate it to others 3) If it's trash/trashy, throw it away This store is a wreck and is not organized. There workers take donated items and throw them breaking things which defeats the purpose of donating to me. I will donate to another location although this location is much closer to my home.

Did you Know? GOODWILL Is a for Profit Business not really a charity They hardly ever even check to ensure the items they are reselling work properly or are even boxed correctly. If you buy an electronic item and it doesn't work you may return it but only for store credit. You are responsible to make sure it works properly; it has all cords and equipment that came with the original item and that are required to make it work. If for some reason the item is in a sealed box, they ask you not to open it, but if you get home and what is advertised is not in the box, they say we are selling thrift store items what do you expect. So if you plan to buy anything in this store, Make sure it works, have the person who is ringing your purchase up open all boxes to make sure you are getting what you think you are and also remember this is not a charity they want you to believe ity is, but this company is a for profit business and they are using the assumption that they are a charity to receive donations for free items that they then mark up to ANY PRICE THEY DECIDE AT THAT MOMENT to sell to you. They do not stand behind their items they sell, and will only give you store credit on ELECTRONIC ITEMS. If like me you buy a box of three vacuum storage bags that is sealed and you get home to find out that inside that sealed box is only 2 storage bags, they will not let you return the item, nor will they give you a partial refund because they then say you are buying second hand items you should have had the checker open the box for you prior to purchase. Mind you they will not volunteer to do this you must ask them. Also the employees do not know that much about the things that they are selling, so if you do buy anything make sure you know what the item is and what it needs to operate because quite often there are cords missing and the store doesn't care if this is the case you are the person that is in the end the one responsible for what you purchase. Update: when you follow the link to send an email to the person who commented below me you get your email you worked hard on returned as the screen capture i include shows.

I was on a camping trip and a handful of us ladies wanted to go thrifting in the town of Ventura,…read moreabout 30 min from Santa Paula. It was a great spot to go thrifting. There were many thrift shops on this street! One of them, Goodwill. There was so much to see. The shop was well organized and clean. The customer service was very good considering it was busy. I thought I have been in a well stocked Goodwill, but this one tops it all. It wasn't just packed with furniture, but it was well balanced with plenty of clothing too. Parking can be an issue especially if you come early. They have the farmers market going on so street parking is blocked off to vendors only. Back to the store.... I was able to find a few items that I could use for a theme camping trip I will be going to in June. I thought the price for the items i purchased was pretty good. But, I find that the prices at this particular named store the prices seem to be high. But you certainly can find some good, affordable things. I would love to come back and maybe find another treasure that someone no longer needed.

This Goodwill is vast and has a variety of used goods, such as clothes, books, shoes, furniture,…read moreknick-knacks, and more. The prices are also quite reasonable. I've found shirts here before that are in pretty good condition. This store can make a fun outing, such as seeing who can make the best find. If you're looking for gently used, inexpensive, and good-quality items, this is the store for you.

SuperThrift is under Rescue Mission Alliance nonprofit…read more The store itself is HUGE for my shopping taste. It's a little overwhelming for me to find clothing items. I have been lucky finding some great deals on shoes-- Like new Danskos and Toms. I feel like retail businesses end up donating here, I do tend to see Toms shoes come through a lot. The clothing prices can range from average baseline prices similar (or lower) to Goodwill but some items may have unusually high prices. It's hard to gauge. I did see many clothing items that were stained or looked very worn and were still priced semi higher than expected. HOWEVER, what I want to focus on is the main nonprofit-- Rescue Mission Alliance. They run programs for women and men who are needing shelter due to domestic violence, trafficking, or difficult unhoused situations. People who commit to their programs are allowed to shop at this store for free, so donations do in effect go directly to the people in their shelter programs. So I want to commend the store and nonprofit for their directly giving back donations to their participants via vouchers. I also recommend that this is a great local nonprofit to give your donations to (more purposeful than dropping off at Goodwills)

This place used to be really one of my favorite thrift stores ever to go into something happen…read morewhere they now have increased their pricing by I'd say 5 to 10 times as much as he used to be. As an example you cannot find a regular Tshirt for less than seven dollars unless it's got holes in it and stained. They used to be very affordable and a good selection. I don't know what's happened but maybe the economy has made them having to pay higher rent so therefore they're charging people tons more I will tell you 100%. I'm never coming back, which is sad because I used to come here a lot.
