The Goodwill in Rocky Hill is a Hit or Miss depending on when I go. Last night I found some interesting items that I'm not currently after, but that someone else might very likely be. The book section at this Goodwill is very organized, and I love that they're right by the window so you can easily see everything with a bit of natural light. I found two Colleen Hoover books right beside each other, and both in pristine condition. There is a very colorful couch, that looked like it was in good standing. Certain parts are very messy, particularly the random isle, others are more orderly. There are Dorothy's red sparkling booties that might be good to get into character for Halloween. Wow, can they out anything more in this donation center. It is so overcrowded it's very hard to get thru the shelves. I watched a worker stocking shelves and he'd just throw the item into the shelf. No wonder it's seems so disorganized. Clothing is having on the racks but I wonder if they are sorted correctly. Would have expected more from here. read more

I love this store, I come once or twice a week. Today I heard Rosalind, a clerk claiming to be the manager, threaten to fight a customer in the parking lot. Most managers are hired or promoted with the understanding that their role might include some situational de-escalation, but they skill is lacking in this woman. read more

Absolutely NOT!!!! You would think donating 4 big bags of clothes will feel rewarding! The level of attitudes from the employees was literally the worst!!! I didn't need a "thank you" per se but on top of not saying thanks we got laughters and disgusting attitudes. Most of the clothes are new clothes with TAGS and the worn ones were properly washed and sorted. I felt like because I am black it's not appreciated enough. I told one of the workers that we were given attitudes and she didn't even utter an apology out of her mouth. I will never donate at goodwill again. Not this one not another one. Just recently dropped off a bag of stuff and the experience was terrible. I was not pleased with the attitude of the workers! They were not welcoming at all and after my friend made it known to one of the employees that she's not pleased with the way they were dealing with us, the lady passed a remark to the other employees & they laughed about it. The customer service etiquette absolutely STINKS. Im happy regardless that I did my good deed but not happy because of the hostility. read more

On July 9th while shopping; the supervisor Lisa embarrassed the cashier in front of all the customer, the cashier told the supervisor that her drawer was heavy because another customer paid her $40.00 in QUARTERs and told her the drawer kept getting stuck from the weight of the coins, the supervisor yelled at her & told her stay away from the drawer in the nastiest tone; which I thought was very uncomfortable and unprofessional, the way she degraded that cashier, I won't be visiting that location 80 Town line Road, Rocky Hill, CT, EVER AGAIN, it brought tears to my eyes, the way she spoke; wasn't what she said BUT the way she said it...thinks she need customers service and diversity classes. read more

I recently received an email from Dianne C. who works at the Goodwill Store & Donation Center who indicated to me that I must have gone on an off day as it is Goodwill's practice to assist people whom are bringing donations to the store. Additionally she said that receipts should not be "held" by the employees and are there for the taking. I wrote back and told her that I fully understood why the receipts might be held by employees as, unfortunately, there are some that probably take advantage of the tax write-off that their donation offers them I appreciated this outreach as it shows that my patronage is important to them. read more

I absolutely adore this Goodwill store. I'm always finding really cute, unique decorations for my house all the time whenever I stop by. I've never bought any of the clothes, but they're all arranged nicely and they don't smell, from what I can tell. Pricing is reasonable, and all the employees I've ever dealt with have been really nice whenever I've been in. Def will need to stop by again soon. read more

I go here to look at women's jewelry for sale. 8 often find lovely broaches for $1.99 each. Some look like precious antiques! I found a delicate pair of silver filagree dangle earrings this week - they rock!! The store is crammed full so allow yourself a good hour or more to see everything. I have also donated a few articles, and doing that gave me a good charitable feeling. read more

What an amazing place. People are friendly and helpful even though they are short staffed and under paid. In fact the Clinton store made 2 million in 2022 and the staff is paid minimum wage or just above. Expected more to clean bathrooms, work outside in the cold and deal with the public who don't have clear instructions Olin drive up and drop off. Poorly managed by company. Came here on a Saturday morning not long after they opened. Store was neat and mostly organized. The sheets and comforters were more organized than any other goodwill that I've seen. All pieces in bags with notes on what the bag includes. Found a lot of great housewares, some for the color of the week 50% off. I thought the clothes, especially the kids sections, were overpriced- but everything I saw seemed to have a better quality level then other local goodwills. I traveled from western mass, so this isn't right around the corner for me, but I will definitely incorporate this location into my treks to newington and glastonbury thrift trips! read more

I feel like a turd leaving a "non-profit" a bad review. The truth is I am a lower income person who buys most of my stuff second hand from thrift stores.. I do this so I can afford the things I can't afford new. This Goodwill's prices make their second hand goods inaccessible. Multiple Board games were $13.00, a camera DVR was $100... I don't know who is pricing this stuff but I will not be back, rather go to Berlin turnpikes goodwill or Salvation Army. read more

I dont know what it is about this goodwill but they seem to have more name brand merchandise than any other I have ever seen. They are also one of the biggest in the area, but still maintain it nicely. It is always clean and well organized. This store is pretty well-organized, and the staff is friendly. Some of their items seem overpriced. I wanted some towels to use in my Guinea pigs' cage so I went here. Their towels were priced 2.99 to 4.99 each-- you can get towels for that cost if you find after-season sales at a department store. I bought them anyway, because I want to support Goodwill's mission (as well as avoid adding more work to sweatshops) but I was surprised they were that high. Seems like every time I visit a Goodwill store these days I find more and more second hand clothing prices increasing to be comparable with buying something brand new at another local retailer. Goodwill needs to stop price gouging - those that rely on this organization are almost better off shopping the sales racks at the local mall. $69.99 for a heavily worn pair of Minnetonka Moccasins, that were locked up in the 'designer' shoe case? Yeah no. And what is going on with the silver ink or Sharpie mark making inside of handbags, shoes, and coats? Can you please STOP ruining decent items with permanent ink? Goodwill Store - Thrift Stores Near Me - Rocky Hill, Connecticut

Once upon a time, I thought shopping at a thrift store was really weird. Wearing other people's clothes that I thought had died or that the clothes would be raggity. Needless to say I grew up. I discovered living on my own, going to college and trying to support myself didn't support shopping designer anymore and the thought of having to buy new clothes was daunting. Then one day I met my mother in law. Although, I still shop frugally with coupons for name brands, and I am saving money living with my husband, she taught me that you can actually find great deals for name brands shopping at second hand stores. She introduced me to the Rocky Hill goodwill. I have found brand new, name brand clothing such as Puma, Nike, American Eagle never worn or slightly worn. Just the other day I bought 4 pairs of name brand work out pants for $10.00. How can you beat that?! Trust me, try it out. You won't regret it. The store is clean and neatly set up. A great place to donate old clothing and house items. These items are then made available to others for purchasing. The donations help charity. While this is much larger than the Goodwill in Glastonbury, I still prefer the smaller one. This Goodwill is well organized and very well lit. As they all are, it is hit or miss for merchandise. I usually agree with Evan G., but in this case I have to respectfully disagree on the name brand merchandise. When I have visited, and this may be just when I've visited, the clothing didn't seem as nice or in as good of condition as the Goodwill I usually visit (and donate to). But, give it a try. You never know what you will find in these stores! read more

They have a very convenient drive-up area to drop off your donations, which is great. I also have found some good clothes there--as with any thrift store, it can be hit or miss, but I've been lucky. It is extremely well organized and well maintained. read more

I have been going to Good Will (and this location in particular) for nearly 20 years and have usually found some amazing values. Recently my Mom and I made the trip from Enfield to Rocky Hill to look for some T shirts to wear out in the garden. Previously this location had T shirts available for $1.00-$2.00, now they are $4.00. Also the store was very unorganized and wasn't very clean. We left without purchasing anything and are very unlikely to return. What happened to this place? Very disappointed that one of my favorite stores has deteriorated so much while the prices have more than doubled. read more
