This thrift store is OK. But just ok, they have closed the changing rooms, so I dont bother to look at clothes anymore. The prices tend to be higher than the Deseret Industries that is right next door. However, I usually stop by in case someone donated something interesting here. I do miss the glass cases, and feel it's pretty lame that anything "nice" is now sold online. It's almost as if they have forgotten about their customers and are in it just for the money. if they think an item is worth money that is out on the shelf and priced, they will refuse to sale it to you. Very poor treatment from bald supervisor because they want to make money. really disappointed to see such dishonest employees. read more

I was very disappointed to learn that the Goodwill store in Layton has recently closed their fitting rooms. The sign in front of the fitting rooms says they are being closed for the safety of the customers and employees, (whatever that means), but the real reason is to reduce the amount of shoplifting going on. This was a very poor business decision. A certain amount of shoplifting is inevitable and will continue with or without fitting rooms. Although it will cut down on some of the shoplifting, that will more than be offset by the reduction of clothing sales by customers who would have purchased clothing, but now won't. Most customers, like myself want clothes to fit properly, and without fitting rooms to try clothes on, at best it's "a crap shoot", and with gas prices the way they are and the value of a person's time, no one wants to keep running back and forth to the store just to find a pair of used pants or some other item of clothing that fits, with no promise that they will find something. Goodwill, do yourself and your customers right by opening up those fitting rooms again! read more

The Goodwill takes everything of value and sells it on their auction site, so most everything in the store is just junk. Don't bother.

The dark hair lady who is or thinks she is in charge is a pretty rude and nasty character and so is the younger blonde who works nights. Strongly recommend you go in the morning when they do not work. Because that crew seems to be nicer. You even hear the workers complain about them. read more

Love the mission and purpose of this organization, but the execution seems like it could use some work. I Checked the website, which said they were accepting donations until 4pm, and made the 20 minute drive to drop off some stuff. Got there at 2:45, only to be told they stopped accepting donations at 2. Made the drive again the next day - only to discover that whatever safety measures are being used due to COVID results in 5 minutes minimum, sometimes as many as 10 minutes, for each vehicle to drop off their donation. So if there are 10 vehicles, you're going to be at least an hour. Just be prepared for a LONG wait, and you'll be fine, I guess. read more

$50 for boots!!? I could not believe it. I was so confused and baffled when I saw the price, I almost pooped my pants right there! But I wouldn't be able to afford new pants at that store, so I didn't. But somebody donated those boots for free.. and I found them, and I should have been able to purchase them for $5 or $10, like a normal thrift store purchase! But $50 dollars? What in the world. I have $50 and they were cute, and I carried them around the store and thought about buying them.. but I would taken them home and been in a rage everytime I saw them. $50 for some bad juju boots, no thank you! This isn't a very big Goodwill. They don't have a lot of new stuff coming in daily. The prices tend to be a big higher than Deseret down the street and I suspect that Deseret is the reason that this Goodwill isn't so great. There are other Goodwills in the SLC Metro area that are much better. read more

Wretched. Terrible. The outgoing message states that they are accepting donations during open business hours. We arrived between 2pm and 2:15pm and the guy told us we had to come back at 2:30pm. No joke. We went back at about 2:25pm and there were now 10 cars in line. It took about 45 minutes for us to get to the front of the line. Donors had to unload AND SORT their own donations, while several employees watched and chatted and dictated. They would only let one of us out of the car (outside in the open air) at a time. They were laughing and joking about how there were now 29 cars behind us waiting. No exaggeration. The cherry on top is that we they wouldn't give us a receipt there. We had to go back and park and go inside the store and tell them that Richard -or whatever his name was- sent us. (I think that was his name. It was last week.) We will be trying to find a more worthy, gracious, and grateful recipient of our donations in the future. Boo. Hiss. =( read more
