This is a really small Goodwill, so they pack the place from free floor up with a lot of mercy. They are lacking in the DVD section, but I did find a very cool Starbucks Seattle mug with rose gold print for $4.99, so that was a score. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! Would rate zero stars if possible. The so called manager Mark, is an extremely rude, inappropriate, foul mouthed man.. Who instead of doing his job like he's paid to do, would much rather scream at his customers yelling, "Get the f*ck out of my store, I'm not selling you guys sh*t" because my fiance simply put a shirt back in the wrong rack. For the past five years I've totally enjoyed repeated shopping visits to this Goodwill, frequently finding treasures to take home and to share with others. Customer service has always been great. I'm very sad to see it close. :( read more

We've only been visiting this location for the last 2 years, but we've only had good luck experiences. They have a pretty good selection given the size and location and the prices are still reasonable unlike Olympia. Staff have always been friendly and helpful, if it were bigger with a better variety of items would be 5 stars IMO read more

Access to a restroom, pricing that is lower than the retail price, employees that aren't so snobby. I've shopped at major big box stores that made me feel more welcome. Never will be back to this store. Too bad the rating system accommodate negative numbers. read more

Attempted to make a donation today. We pulled in and there was a sign stating wait 15 mins til we get caught up. We could understand how busy they are. Before we could back out, a guy on a forklift was shaking his head at us and then another employee came up and waved us off. Both were very rude. Staff is friendly enough, but for a store that size, you would think they have more of the items we need most. Donations collection personnel definitely wish they were somewhere else. Never a good time dropping off like at most places. Overall slightly above average I would say. read more

What a wonderful Goodwill. All the employees were super friendly and helpful. I had seen the previous reviews on this Goodwil (which were not very good) so I wanted to see for myself. I was pleasantly surprised. It is in a little shopping center across from walmart. It was not a bad neighborhood! I would recomend this store. This Goodwill is plopped down in one of the homeliest areas around the impoverished city of Shelton. If you had the finest house in the neighborhood, that would be a cruddy house. The store serves legitimately po' folk, many of them young mothers who moved to town to be near their husbands inside the city's only major industry, prison. I only visited it this one time and on the assumption that like all Goodwills stock changes a lot and is not always as bad as what I saw, I'm giving it 3 stars instead of one or 2. I did find one small thing useful to me. It was priced surprisingly low, then it was unexpectedly discounted at the check-out. So I'm not displeased. But really, every other Goodwill I've entered has been a better one. read more

NEVER going here again. A male employee started standing right next to me, kept asking me questions, and wouldn't leave me alone no matter how many times I asked. I told him "no" so many times but he would not take that as an answer. I had to raise my voice almost yelling to get this man away from me. I guess I should be grateful there's a Goodwill in Shelton at all, since it's a pretty small town. This location isn't particularly memorable, but you should check it out if you happen to be in Shelton. The store isn't huge, but it has the familiar Goodwill layout and departments. When we were there, it was clean and well maintained, and easy to find what you're looking for. The weirdest thing is that the ceiling is painted black, which makes it feel more cramped and oppressive in there than it otherwise would be. The prices are typical of Goodwill stores and they had some good sales going when we were there. There's a 3-item limit in the dressing room, which is kind of annoying when most places allow 6 items. Overall, a decent Goodwill and one of the better thrift stores in Shelton! read more

Here i am again maybe its none of my bissness but as far as i know every public place but the goodwill have their bathrooms open. Maybe this goes with my last post that they want the people donatating stuff to put it away for them or they wont accept it. Any time I come to donate stuff here I am always met by some rude bougie person, never greeted. They walk up to you all pissed off like you're the one that ruined their day. I got turned away along with a few other people because they decided that they "didn't take" these items. Instead of suggesting some other place to go I had to pry it out of him. Don't even bother going inside either, every time I go it's a ghost town up front I'm surprised half the customers don't just walk out. If you're looking for minimal customer service, to say the least and decent items, drive to one of the few in Kitsap County or the one in Gig Harbor, they at least acknowledge you exist. read more

The place is always dirty looking. And most employees are rude and unhappy working there. And donating free stuff the workera seem angry as well. I am so upset. I literally went thru the trouble of finding this app and downloading it..just so i can share with any future shoppers of the shelton goodwill.. maybe I can prevent you or someone you know from having this happen to them. So i went to the goodwill this evening looking for some cute little summer dresses and possibly any other summer attire they may have had in stock.. i grabbed a shopping cart and since i didnt bring my purse in i set my wallet in the lil spot where you can sit a small child if you choose too and put the clothes i was going to purchase in the larger part of the cart. so the next thing i know i have wondered about a 1/2 of the length of the isle away from my cart just looking thru items. and theres a big confrontation with a employee and some kid hes accusing him of stealing items from the store and the guy denies any wrong doing. So withoht any hard evidence im assuming,.. the employee backs down and says,..fine leave. but I dont want to see you back in this store or it will be considered trespassing. then i look back at my cart and thats when I notice my WALLET IS GONE! ( AKA: MY WHOLE LIFE! MY DRIVERS LICENSE; MY DEBIT CARD ; MY FOOD CARD ; AND ALL OF MY CASH! ) And i frantically ask the same employee that was making such a big deal about the guy earlier stealing if he could please go check the cameras for me so maybe we could ATLEAST SEE WHO TOOK MY WALLET! and he said he couldnt and some bs line about it could take a couple WEEKS TO ACCESS their camera footage!!! what the hell ! We decided to stop in and look around. There was a lot of stuff crammed into the store however the only isle that was hard to move through was the toys. That was due to someone allowing their children to take a bunch of toys off the shelves and play with them and/or leave them in the isle while parents were shopping. The staff was very helpfull and we walked out with some good stuff. read more

I found a game on the shelf and they wouldn't sell it to me because there was no price tag. They told me I could come back tomorrow and purchase it. Unlike other Goodwill stores, when a flaw like a missing button, ripped seam, or major spots are discovered, the employees will not reduce the price. They say they cannot adjust prices that are assigned in Tacoma. Not only that, when there is an item has two price tags on it, they will always use the higher price tag, even though the description does not fit the item. For example, a camera I was looking at had two tags, one said hardware, the other said housewares. The hardware tag was more than twice as much, and I was told that this was the price that was correct. As far as I know, a camera is not considered hardware, which typically include garage items, but a camera would be kept in the house, making it more a housewares type item. I would have assigned an electronics tag, but who am I?Previous to that, another clerk told me that the tag with the later date would be used, always. I get a different story from each employee. Consistent training needs to be done, because each employee seems to be have a different version of store policy. I would not purchase any shoes from this store as that section smells really bad, and the shoes are all dirty and worn out. Go o Olympia, Gig Harbor or Yelm. They have better items as they come from these communities which are not suffering from such poverty. Going to Goodwill in Seattle is vastly different than any of the Southern Wa stores. They merchandise is newer and much better quality, and they have a separate section for vintage items, which saves me a lot of time going through the endless racks and shelves. Also, the employees need to present a more professional image if they are being groomed for a job in society. Good grooming would be a very good start. read more
