This place is a train wreck, avoid like the plague. I tried to order a prescription I had with them for a couple years. My doctor had renewed it a couple months ago for the year but Neils on line system said the prescription was expired. I emailed twice to ask and got no reply. Then I called my Dr and they confirmed that the prescription was not expired and they sent another renewal. So today I called and I was on hold for 20 minutes. Then someone answered and said the prescription was expired and they had no record of renewal from my Dr. I pointed out that the package on the previous month said I had 7 refills. And even before they screwed up the prescription it was never ready when I arrived no matter how many days I gave them. They always told me to come back in 15 minutes. read more

Their computer robot calls me relentlessly, even though I don't have any prescriptions with them I would have a prescription with them if they would fill mine. I'm a veteran and they won't fill VA prescriptions even though the VA says they are contracted. So I have to drive all the way to Tacoma to pick up meds! read more

We & our Son's family are new to Shelton. My wife called your Pharmacy to verify that our insurance would be honored there (Aetna) and they said it would be. As it was a local Pharmacy we wanted to support it. Our Daughter-in-law picked-up Doris medication for us at a cost of $ 120.00 because it was not covered by our Aetna plan they said. We went back today and they admitted their employee made a mistake but made no attempt to correct their mistake. If we ordered the Medication from ANY of the big box stores our cost would have been 0.00 instead of $ 120.00 This was a hard hit for Retired people. read more

Took a hand written prescription to Neil's Pharmacy in Shelton a few months ago for my 94 year old Mom and got it filled that day. A day or two later I got a phone call from them asking me what my Mom's doctor's name was because they could not find the prescription and needed to call and get a new one.  Every month I had to call them to request the prescription be filled again. In November I asked if they could not do this on an auto fill and I assumed they were going to do that. This month I called them to see if it had been done on auto refill and apparently it was not. I was then told the insurance would not approve what my Mom had been getting the past few months and I told them I would come down later that day to get the new prescription and see if it worked for my Mom.  When I got there the prescription had not been filled and the gal left the area. A little later another gal came to where I was and told me I had to look for someplace else to get my Mom's prescription filled. When I started to question them about it she said that is why we are not filling it anymore. So I advise anyone if you have questions for Neil's Pharmacy do not ask them or they will send you away. I left this place nearly in tears and have never felt so belittled in my life.  My Mom is on Medicaid/Medicare for her prescriptions and because Neil's will not fill this again and no one in Shelton does this type of prescription I am now required to find a place in Tumwater and drive 70 miles round trip to get my Mom's prescription each month. Frustrated me that they would not even let me ask a question. This is the first time I have had to deal with Medicaid/Medicare prescriptions of this kind for my Mom and as you may know all insurances are frustrating and confusing. They have been difficult to work with in getting the special order prescription from day one and I am so happy my Mom is not the one who had to deal with them.  I would highly NOT recommend this place to anyone especially if you are on Medicaid or Medicare. read more

I feel ashamed that I haven't taken the time to write this review before now. My family has used Neil's for 18 years. Neil's is a shining star in our small community. The entire staff goes the extra mile to provide excellent customer service. They always greet me by name and inquire about my family. They understand my families complicated prescription issues and deal with our less than perfect insurance. They are true pharmacy professionals and it shows. As homey and small as this business seems, they have stayed up to date with technology. I often use their automated service, which does not take away from their hands on personal approach. I also find treasures among their wide selection of gift items. When I first posted this review I noticed it said I was from Port Angeles, I don't know how to fix that, but I have lived in Shelton, WA for 18 years. read more

This pharmacy is wonderful. The staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy assistants and folks at the register are helpful and friendly. Besides being a pharmacy they are an incredible gift store. They have beautiful things there. One of the people working in the pharmacy has been trying to help me solve an insurance problem. Neils Pharmacy is the perfect example of compassion, wanting to help your neighbor everything a small community means. They've been here forever and know everyone by their first name. If there's a problem they fix it immediately. I could never go back to the big guys that treat you like crap. They are family to a whole town and we love them for it. read more

The staff are so nice and helpful. They fill my prescriptions accurately, and worked hard to help me get the insurance billing worked out. They have a customer for life. I'm so tired of waiting in line at Fred Meyers pharmacy to get a pharmacist that is hard to understand through their accent and there seems to be new employees every time and they mixed up my prescription and then argued about my insurance and wanted me to pay when the insurance was supposed to cover it. read more
