Ugh, what a horrible experience. I have not shopped here in awhile, but I was running errands…read moreclose by so thought I would stop in for some things. They have definitely spent a lot of money making the place look nicer, but I had the most unpleasant experience. Almost everyone who worked there was incredibly rude. They did not have even one single cashier lane open, only self check-out. I am disabled with a brain injury and I really struggle with navigating that process. I asked an employee about a cashier, and she was so rude and told me to self check-out. When I explained it was difficult, she told me I could ask her fellow employee who was finishing up helping an elderly gentleman at the self check-out register. This guy was so rude telling me flatly to use the self check-out and waved me away. When I explained it was too difficult for me, he flatly told me I could stand around and wait 10 minutes for a cashier lane to open (apparently they were on break at 9am) while he stood around and did nothing. I was considering just leaving my full cart there and leaving, but the woman at the customer service desk who had overheard all of this was nice enough to come over and open a cashier lane to assist. Then to top it off... the cart scenario. Their parking lot is always full, narrow and hard to navigate so I always park on the side street. I was pushing my cart to my car to unload and as I was just about to go on the sidewalk outside of their parking lot (where I was parked), the cart locked up on me. It would not move. They must have some automated lock system that doesn't allow you to take the cart out of a certain area. So I was left with trying to carry 2 full bags and 2 boxes of canned bubble water by myself. I had to just leave some of it on the side walk and come back for it hoping no one would take my $200 worth of groceries I just bought while it was unattended on the sidewalk so I could make multiple trips. What a nightmare.

I think I'm finally done with shopping here. Yes, lately they've been spending some of the…read moreoutrageous profits they've been making on sprucing up the store, but it's rarely very convenient to shop here. So many times I stop in for a "quick shop" to pick up a few items. But it's rarely a quick shop, there's almost always some delay. Most times, there's only one check-out open and they don't open a second checkout until the line is long. Self-check is typically full and there's usually a wait also. Or, one of the self- checks isn't working and that's another back-up. Today after completing my shopping (the deli did not have the chinese meal I was going to buy (the food prep was running late), nor large hothouse tomatoes, so that was another issue...there was a customer in front of another customer in front of me who's card wasn't working. So they tried it over and over, then the checker tried it over and over. Still no second checkout opened. Then a manager was called in to try the card to resolve the problem which took more time... Finally they decided to open a second second checkout line and the checker motioned for me to come on over, at which point I had to reload my groceries from the conveyer back into my cart and move to the other checkout, which by then already had two people in line. Um...I thought I was first? So back to the other line I went. When I finally escaped, after paying over $100 for two bags of food, the customer with the card issue was still standing around waiting for his problem to be resolved. I realize this doesn't sound like a big deal...1st world problems for sure. But as this wasn't a first, I'm just tired of being repeatedly inconvenienced by what seems like a poorly managed store when I have other things to do than stand in line. I think it's time to switch to Fred Meyer. A little bit further for me but seems like a nicer, better stocked/organised store and better parking anyway.

Yogurt is 6$ at other stores and only $3 at Winco For the same brand. A warning for women who go shopping alone. I was almost attacked by a man in the parking lot and had to call the police. He blocked me into my parking spot and got out of his vehicle screaming at me. Just warning people get crazy here, maybe Lacey in General. So I usually take my husband now, and do not go alone. The service is better now, and I have not seen the cashier who was rude before. The customer service people are so nice, quick and helpful. And the cashiers are generally friendly and pretty fast. Glad I gave this place another chance.

On numerous occasions, I have witnessed customers with dogs in the store. Everyone claims it is a…read moresupport animal of some kind. Today, a man with a long unkempt beard and a dog half his height (unleashed) were walking the aisles. I complained to customer service about this. This is a filthy habit in a grocery store where there is food, food in open containers (bulk items) meat and produce. The manager (a black middle-aged female) and a security person, approached the man and recieved the same excuse, that it is a security animal. The manager allowed him to continue shopping. I then complained to the manager about WINCO practices. The manager then threatened to have me thrown out of the store. I am a senior citizen, older WHITE male with white hair. Tell me this is not DISCRIMINATION. We older white men are targets for discriminatory hatred among black females. This is a matter that needs to be addressed. That manager needs to find work elsewhere. No customer should be treated that way for complaining about store policy. WINCO - LACEY is going to become a homeless encampment, and I guess that is ok. Every type of behavior and all people, except older white men, are welcome/with their animals, at the "not so diverse" WINCO-LACEY. White men/older white men are being marginalized by black females. That is a fact. DISCRIMINATION should not be allowed. This behavior of the black, female WINCO store manager should not be tolerated . Corporate should do something about this. Corporate has been notified. This doesn't end with a Yelp review.
