Trying to spread some "goodwill" here, since the staff deserve recognition. The people who work here are absolute GEMS, and I hope they are well taken care of. Even if they are, I plan to do a little something special for them for the upcoming holidays. I don't know their names, but a few stand-outs are: -Woman who regularly stocks household items. She wears little headbands with cute animal ears. She is a ray of sunshine. If I could lift her to put her up on a pedestal, I would. -Dale, who seems to be a manager, is not only extraordinarily kind, but he's knowledgeable about art. Learned he's an artist himself! -Tall young man who usually wears a mask. So personable and helpful. He doesn't hesitate to greet me, and he had some good feedback about a couple of my purchases. -Very young man who works the register. Quick with a dimpled smile. He's very courteous and wholesome. -Older man who works in a bustling and vocal manner. He's not playing around, but his style is necessary and welcome, because he must ensure nobody gets hurt. I have observed him trying to place some large, heavy items, and if customers crowded around him too much, he wasn't able to do his job. Not to mention, if someone weren't aware of where he and the large/heavy objects were, he and/or the customer could get hurt. So, he has to loudly (I'm guilty of zoning out and being unaware of my surroundings) warn customers to stay out of the way. -On the register, young lady with dark hair and cool style is always smiling, Very intelligent--comments on items I'm getting with genuine knowledge. Common thread with all of them is that not only are they conscientious and kind, but they are extremely smart, and I appreciate being able to interact with these types of people. read more

I've read reviews where other people said how Goodwill marks prices up. Now I witnessed it. The Goodwill that's closer to me doesn't do this as far as I noticed but these prices here are ridiculous. A dirty H&M purse for $9.99? A mini muffin tin that had a yard sale sticker on it for $0.75 was being offered for $7.99! There is another item I saw that was new in the bag and had a store sticker for $3.95. Goodwill was trying to sell it for $3.99. The store is huge, but for me, I'll pass. read more

New store on Randolph Rockville. Store layout excellent. However impossible parking long lines and the merchandise is low end junk. Don't waste your time. read more

I had a similar experience with the drop off location. We are downsizing and I had vintage crystal, china, and other valuable breakable items as well as a lot of high-end, designer women's work and evening clothing (e.g., St. John, etc.). However, all was thrown in one big dumpster without rhyme or reason. It made me very unhappy to see these high quality items treated without any thought. The store should reconsider who they place at drop off. This Goodwill also serves Potomac, MD having large homes containing valuable art, crystal, glassware (eg Steuben) and more. read more

I continue to be disappointed by the Goodwill stores that I have encountered in Maryland. This one is a bit tucked away in the back of the building because it's on a busy street. So you have to drive around back to get to the entrance and there's only one driveway to get in and out. This definitely gets a one on a scale of 1 to 5 for scent. The smell of use clothes hits you as soon as you walk in the door. It gets a two on a scale of 1 to 5 for size. It is a small to medium sized store. It gets a two for selection. There were slim. pickings in every department pricing was decent, but has gone up a bit for all goodwill's. It may be worth stopping, but I wouldn't highly recommend it nor will I be motivated to come back to the store. I'm still waiting to find a good well in Maryland that is worth the trip. If you want a good thrifty experience in Maryland, find a 2nd Ave. store. You won't be disappointed. read more

I always find something useful or interesting here...there is a large selection of women's clothing and a surprisingly good section of books and housewares (I've found many cute porcelain teacups, saucers, plates). Lots of pictures and artwork, as well. Well worth a visit if you're in the Rockville Pike area (by the Marlo furniture store). read more

Horrible customer service and lack of pricing of items. they have unpriced items and when you go to the front to purchase the lady cashier was rude and said that items without prices cant be sold, no eye contact, no apology. I mean if they dont want to do their job and price items then they shouldnt be working in costumer service.why in the world would they have unpriced merchandise on the floor? On my way in, I dropped off my donation. A kind gentleman was outside and quickly took my bag and placed it in the collection bin. Easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy! I was excited about my little "solo mission", since I missed the Grand Opening event earlier this year. As soon as I hit the door, I grabbed a cart and started pushing. I went up and down every aisle more than once and found something I wanted in nearly every aisle. Lots of gems. Each section better than the last. It was sooooo hard not to buy EVERYTHING, but I did leave with a major haul. Overall, the staff was super helpful and kept the sections neat and organized. Just had an awful experience with their donation drop off. I went with my daughter and about 20 boxes of housewares - glasses, dishes, etc. - from my mom's house. We wanted them to find a new home and be useful to someone else. I spoke to the man running the drop off line and he said to put the boxes in the bins that were lined up. He didn't have to do anything, except he took a box out of my daughters hands and flung it into the donation bin, while we watched and heard everything inside it shatter. I asked him "what's wrong with you" and his response was "whats wrong with you! You aren't doing me no favors". So I put the box I was holding back in my truck along with the remaining unbroken items and we left. I'm done with goodwill. I will choose local charities that care about they receive and want their donations to make a difference. read more

Terrible attitude from lady working there last night. My husband and I went into the store a few minutes before 7pm with online posted closing hours as 8pm (and the answering machine hours note close 8pm as well). A minute or two into being there, my husband walked by me/going towards the door and quietly said they were closed. What he said didn't quite register initially, so in that moment i looked up/towards the back of store and there was a lady working sorting closes. When i looked her direction, she started rudely yelling from the back "we're closed" and I said "ok, i have a question". Her response was "we're closed, i can't answer any questions. we're closed". I was stunned that she was so rude. She was obviously ignorant so I said nothing and started walking out. Another worker started walking my husband and I to the front apologizing. I looked at the time we went outside (7:01p). After we left my husband said the same lady worker asked another worker "how did they get in here?" as if we broke in. The door was open. I used to go to the Twinbrook location to make my donations, but have been coming here instead. As you face the store, the donation area is on the right side of the building You can enter either from Rockville Pike or Fleet Street. During the hours that the donation area is open, there is always someone there (just look carefully). The website says the hours for donation shows: Monday to Sunday 10am-4pm. I didn't realize there was another goodwill in Rockville until today! Wowza! The store is nicely organized, spacious, and clean. I found the clothes was good quality - lots of name brands and low on the fast fashion. It felt like shopping at a regular department store. There was also plenty of parking. Since the beginning of the pandemic I started thrifting more to flip for my side biz. This is one of the most organized GW in the area, that has friendly staff who actually smiles, greets, and wanna help you. Their prices are simple, a certain color of the week is mentioned and it will be 50% off. So look for the color of the plastic thing that holds the price tag, to tell you . I was able to find brand new Old Navy tank tops for $1.79, and Lucky Brand jeans for $2.99 Other than that they have standard prices on clothing etc: jeans $6.99 tops $4.99... I may be off but you get my drift. I love GW pricing somewhat. They aren't really gonna nickel and dime like Planet Aid. You can find name brand clothing that are brand new! Old Navy, GAP, TJ, and Nike to name a few. Housewares and furniture were kinda scarce. Purses go quick and any high end stuff are kept up front. They had old (like out of style) Coach bags and some baby UGGS. They are located next to Marlo Park on the side. They also accept donations just park where you see the truck so they'll accept your donation. I like that, Good Will helps people who had some barriers in life, with employment opportunities and job skills to help them get back on track with their life. BEWARE GOODWILL FINDS! On June 5, I ordered two items, a pair of earrings and a necklace, the total of which was approximately $50.00. I received the earrings about ten days later, but I have never received the necklace. I have e-mailed the company five times to inquire about the rest of my order, but have never received a response. This is a terrible way to do business. Since this incident occurred, I have spoke with various people about Goodwill, and have heard many negative anecdotes. Perhaps this company should be called "BadwillFinds," instead. read more

This is the nicest Goodwill I've ever been in (and I've been in many). It feels like a beautifully maintained Marshall's or similar store. The staff is friendly and easy to find if help is needed. The stock is in excellent condition. Parking is abundant and convenient. The drive in donation area was easy to find, and the attendant appeared immediately to help me unload my donation. My only suggestion/criticism is that the glass doors at the entrance are very heavy. Someone in a wheelchair, on crutches, or pushing a baby carriage will struggle to open them. Perhaps they could be replaced by electric automatic doors. read more

This Goodwill location makes it super easy to donate and the people are very nice. Plus, it's a great cause! It can be a little difficult to figure out how to get to the donation point in the parking lot on the side of the store, so you might want to look at the map before driving over. read more

Went for the grand opening, and. Made out like a bandit. Next time I went in the prices we're getting a bit higher, some even higher than market value on some video games. Great staff though and great location, and they keep a decent stock. read more
