On a good note, the store looks GREAT!! Quite clean and uncluttered which increases the customer experience. Even the dreaded toy corner has been thoroughly put together quite nicely!! Thank You!!!! I am, however, surprised at the increased prices in merchandise as well as the inconsistency in basic pricing to begin with. It seems that whomever does the pricing of the DONATIONS coming in is going for top dollar when GoodWill is supposed to be a NOT-FOR-PROFIT. let me start with i VERY RARELY WRITE ANY REVIEWS GOOD OR BAD. i have been coming to this goodwill for 10 years now. always been a very happy customer. i know a lot of the employees or recognize them because i am at this location so much, being right around the corner from me. tonight i go in at 7 and i find myself with arm full of vintage dresses, so i go get a cart since they are heavy. from across the store i hear an employee shout (other people could hear) "you know there's security cameras up front" assuming i was going to steal. first that is very embarrassing to accuse someone that loud and second I DONT STEAL & I COME HERE ALL THE TIME. with how often im there i would be dumb to do that. i reported this to management so i hope it goes somewhere but this experience made me not want to come back. read more

Sunday took kitchen tools and lots of knives over to this Goodwill--a few months ago had brought over some clothing & shoes. The attendant each time was very polite & friendly--no problems whatsoever. Also glad they are open on Sundays for drop offs. read more

Do donate to this Goodwill location because the service at the donation line is super pleasant. The senior service person was so polite, efficient with rolling out the cart, reassured us that "Yes, this cart can hold more" as we piled on our donations. Apparently the canvas bag is constructed on a roller that unrolls downwards as more items are added - very efficient system! My suggestion is to help these employees by choosing a considerate time to drop off your donations. We chose 1:45pm to not conflict with their lunch break. We also insisted that we place our donations in the cart; the employees have more than enough to handle after we leave. Be sure to be pleasant, respectful, and courteous towards the employees because they are providing a wonderful service to us AND our fellow residents who shop and/or donate there. read more

Everything could improve. You save all your good stuff that you don't want anymore so you can donate it and feel good about helping lowering income people in our community. And then you walk into the store and see that they are charging seven or eight dollars for a 50 year-old T-shirt. Totally agree with the comment about horrible attitude about donations. Donation worker (or possibly manger) was extremely hostile... I arrived at 730, rang bell three times over ten minutes. Sign by door clearly said they close at 800. Finally, someone came out who said that they are closed, can't you see (and pointed at the sheet of paper that said 800). I mentioned that and she said LOUDLY "we closed thirty minutes ago and you should have called before coming here. We are not taking any donations". To which I said "you don't need mine." Can't try anything on due to no dressing rooms. Then have the nerve to only give me store credit if I return something due it to not fitting cause I can't try it on... what am I suppose to do? Keep exchanging it out for more items that don't fit me cause I can't try on... cause you won't open your dressing rooms. Just give me a full refund. Just like that song Thrift Shop by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, I love shopping thrift, you really stretch your dollar that way and find something unique that no one else has. Who says you have to wear what's in style, you were born to stand out, not blend in with the crowd and wear what everyone else is wearing. This location, tho a bit messy, but worth the look through, I found some crocs for my toddler amazingly in her size and something to put my earrings on to be more organized, did the trick too! I would definitely recommend shopping here, whether your a collector of some sort, short on cash or just want to save a buck, this is your store! Plus each purchase made helps someone receive job training and more, I know I'll continue to shop here! My partner and I acquired some food from a food bank but we're unable to locate any supplies for cooking at the park fire pit. We live in our car and.have very limited funds with medical bills,.and a failing small vehicle which we live in. We've gotten a set of free clothes from a couple Goodwill locations in the past as some locations still offer these free of charge to homeless individuals. Now we've not eaten in days and I myself am diabetic. My partner asked quietly to not draw a scene, and pulled the manager aside to see if we could possibly get blessed with a free fire safe pot and maybe ? A spatula or spoon. The manager possibly named Brian * (I'm almost certain) said no..we are a retail store and said to call 211. It's the lack of empathy from humanity and especially at least a former non profit whos.entire.mission was to help out the less fortunate (GoodWILL ) . We have bought from there often I grew up.right around the corner. Please , companies ,. organizations.etc.. especially with humanitarian goals : if you intend to work for helping people and your heart isn't in it, please don't work here. Oh my goodness, if I can rate this place a "0"star I will. I bought a furniture here and when I picked it up at the back of the store, the clerk who brought me the furniture told me he won't put it in my car because they are prohibited in putting it in a car. How stupid is that? Mind you, I'm 5 ft. woman, 130 lbs and the furniture is like 100 lbs. Oh yeah, he told me how to position the furniture so I can lift it up and put it in my car. Is he even effing serious? So we were going back and forth that he should put it in my car because I'm not strong enough to carry it. I've bought a furniture here before and they put it in my car. Now they no longer do that? What the? What if the buyer is disabled? To management, can you tell me if your clerk is correct when he said they are NO longer allowed to assist customers in putting furnitures in the car/truck? I need an answer as your policy sucks and very rude. It's customer unfriendly and that's not the way to treat your customers. I will never patronize your store. You're rude and overpriced. read more

I left the store with three new HUGE mixing bowls that were affordably priced (and they match), and two shirts that I was very excited about! The discounts offered on special days are a great draw. The place stays stocked and organized. I didn't see very many employees on the floor. I noticed a few customers waiting to check on items they were interested in at the jewelry counter for several minutes. I'm glad I didn't have to ask for assistance. On my tour of Sacramento area thrift stores, I've found Goodwill stores I liked better, but I'd revisit this one. I'll follow up via a review update when that happens. read more

Goodwill Stores are FOR profit not a non-profit - that is why I avoid them and do not donate to Goodwill Stores. It is best to donate to Salvation Army or a women's or homeless shelter so that they don't turn around and sell them. Shame on Goodwill for charging higher prices for items that are DONATED. The manger needs to lose her job she told me I wasn't wearing a mask that covered my ear when it clearly was over my ears. If you're looking for an inexpensive Halloween costume Goodwill is the place for you. They literally cleared out four isles for the adult costumes alone and have them organized by type. There are also tons of new wigs, accessories and makeup unused and reasonably priced right in the front of the store. I came here with a friend to help her piece together her lion tamer costume. We didn't find any costume pieces, however, in the hat section she found a new top hat for fifteen bucks which is ten dollars cheaper than any Halloween store. She also found some slightly used boots that worked perfectly. My boyfriend is going to be the Joker from Suicide Squad and I found the perfect gold chains standing in line for three dollars! I recommend Goodwill if you don't want to spend a hundred dollars on a costume and don't mind it being worn before. By the way, I didn't look at them, but there was also a huge selection of kids costumes. read more

I love Goodwill in Rancho Cordova! The store is organized and spacious, full of nice items at great prices, where I occasionally shop. What I use more often is the donations drop off! The donations are accepted during their full business hours, just drive around to the back and they will help you unload! They are always friendly, professional and efficient! Not really a fan of Goodwill stores, they are cluttered, over priced (8.00 for very worn shoes?) And they put too many clothes on racks it is hard to look at anything. One of the priciest goodwills in the area. Laughable prices. Target brand shoes marked at $20. I get the money goes to charity but no one in their right mind would pay these prices and that only hurts Goodwills non profits. Items are donated and this store has potential to make more sales if they would lower their prices. I would rate this store even less if I could! The last few times I went there the employees where very, VERY, rude! I know they need to place merchandise on the floor but they don't need to run over shoppers with those stupid blue carts. I have been pushed out of the way by them, the employees never say a word! not even "pardon me" or "excuse me" they just shove their way through the isle. I even had a couple ask me to move out of their way so they could put stuff where I was shopping at.. Want to know what my reaction was..??? I put everything I was going to buy down and walked out . This happened more than once. BUT that wasn't the last straw.. The very LAST time I shopped in this location I had a little key chain for $1, it was a busy day (4th of July event) and there was a very long line at the check out, about 8 people in front of me, I decided to wait it out and HOPED they would call another cashier up to help.. NOPE not until the couple in front of me with a huge load in their baskets(2) went to check out that's when another employee was finally called to help check out.. I went to the counter placed the item on it and proceeded to hand her $1 for it.. Want to know what she said to me? "I'm only doing credit or debit not cash, you will have to wait for John to finish and he can help you" She then called NEXT in line up.. My wife was amazed that I didn't exploded.. I just left the item on the counter, put the dollar back in my wallet and calmly walked out for the last time. There are several other Thrift stores in Sacramento and I will not shop in this Goodwill for a very long time if ever again. read more

DO NOT USE THE FITTING ROOM!!! ALL OF THE CAMERAS VIEW STRAIGHT INTO THE ROOMS AND PEOPLE CAN WATCH YOU GETTING DRESSED!!! The employees are very nice at this store. I found a few business casual shirts at a reasonable price. Four shirts came to about $16. Still better than going to Ross, and they are in excellent condition. HOWEVER, my complaint comes from trying them on. I used the fitting room there. The only one available at the time was the handicap fitting room. As I was changing clothes (albeit almost completely naked) I looked up at the ceiling and noticed SEVERAL security cameras glaring at me. Now I understand the need for security cameras ; maybe even an employee near the fitting rooms to deter theft. But I'm pretty sure it is almost illegal to film people while in a fitting room especially without their knowledge. I'm embarrassed and upset. You know damn well the people that view those security cameras are employees, and chances are half of them are men. And I'm SURE the company/employees are well aware that you can see inside the stalls while people are dressing. Which means numerous people watched me get dressed today. This makes me uncomfortable and I want to be heard. They could at least make an effort to make the dressing room doors higher, which would block off the cameras view. Somebody needs to take care of this because there are perverts out there and knowing they can just glance at the security cameras and view women/children/men getting dressed makes my blood boil. I think this thrift store doesn't get the good donations because there really wasn't much to choose from (good stuff). This is my first time there so I'm hoping today was just a miss. Well I spent way too much money here. Sometimes that's not a bad thing but in this case it kind of was. I had no idea that they charge $2 for vinyl records but I found so many good albums in great condition that I couldn't resist. Picked up a great vintage dress, some home decor and a very pricey picture. I just had to have it because it matches the theme in my dining room. $24.99 for a 27 by 21 vintage italian REPRODUCTION poster. I got one larger at denios for $10. But I was there and it was there and I have been itching to get my house together so I became an opportunist and seized the moment. Overall they had some okay stuff, costume jewelry selection not great. They wanted $8.99 for a broken watch. You should come here for the vinyl and kitschy nic nacs. I don't understand why the reviews are so low for this goodwill. I have had nothing but a good time when I come here. The employees are so nice and it's never crowded or busy. There is always something good in clothing and they have a nice selection in the rest of the store too. The books section and the shoes are the only things that ever seem to lack. But honestly, you can still find something in both sections. The dressing rooms are always clean. They have a color tag that is 50% off on Sundays and shockingly they actually have things in that color. So often, I go to goodwill on Sunday and there are no tags with the tag of the day. The parking situation is pretty bad but other than that I genuinely enjoy this goodwill. read more

Safetywise, in RANCHO CORDOVA the isles are VERY VERY UNSAFE! I am a Safety coordinator who visits this store weekly. Everything is stack on top of each other it doesnt matter what it is and what size it is, they dont care. Im talking about all the shelves that hold tools, crafts, household, office items, sports, kitchen items and many breakable items. All those shelves against the backroom wall. Dont care about the bags n purses wall, they dont break. Very messy and things could fall off and hurt somebody like i have seen many times. Its dangerous This store should be fined for this reason.
