I walked into this Goodwill outlet initially with condescension, observing with disdain as the swarm of bargain hunters descended upon a new batch of goods brought out from the warehouse like sharks feasting upon chum. Honestly, I thought the whole spectacle was rather embarrassing. Then I found a quarterstaff in a bin. Yeah, an actual wooden quarterstaff, like the kind that Donatello would use to whoop Foot Clan ass. You can bet your sweet patootie that I walked around the store for the rest of our visit like Gandalf the Grey, and all who gazed upon my glorious discovery with green with envy. I also happened upon a (scattered, deconstructed) collection of miniature ships from a long out-of-print tabletop game, which I spent a good half hour gathering all of the pieces I could find, in order to salvage and rebuild as many ships as possible. I paid approximately $2.00 for a collection worth about x100 that, although I'm not likely to sell them, because I have an actual use for them! But the real jackpot ended up being the ~8 dresses and complete outfits that my wife picked out for herself, totaling around $6.00 (as most items, including everything mentioned above, is priced by weight), and each of them brand new, high-quality articles of clothing that she absolutely fell in love with. NOW I understand why the swarm of fashionistas and wanna-be influencers were falling over each other, trying to pick out the hottest items from the trough of slop dished out from the warehouse at regular intervals. This is bargain hunting in its ultimate form. Sure, there is a lot of useless crap to sift through, but with a keen eye and quick reflexes, anyone can walk away from this Goodwill location adorned like a princess, or equipped like a wandering wizard...depending on your personal style. read more

Since I can ONLY comment thus far on the drop off of a donation, I can't tell you what the inside of this store is. BUT the donation drop off is efficient. The employees have been friendly and I'm always offered a receipt. This is mere blocks from my office and an easy dip in on my way into work. It's convenient for me. Goodwill always has value. I think that's literally the expectation in going to Goodwill. I'll have to shop it at some point but for now, it's just drop offs! read more

During my recent visit to the Goodwill Bins Outlet Center, I had an experience that left much to be desired. One of the workers there, proved to be the epitome of condescension and rudeness. Throughout my time there, she consistently threw her colleagues under the bus, particularly the new staff at the register, blaming them for any confusion that arose. What struck me most was her penchant for making snarky comments as she walked past customers. Her attitude conveyed a sense of superiority that made the shopping experience uncomfortable. Not only did she pass judgment on the items I had selected, but she also complained about what I was choosing to purchase. This behavior, frankly, seemed quite unnecessary and only added to the overall negative vibe. It's unfortunate that encountering Yvette could easily drain one's energy for even stepping foot in the store. Her demeanor created an atmosphere that felt far from welcoming. For those considering a visit, I strongly advise steering clear of the employee who hides behind her face mask and has a piercing gaze that could turn you to stone. This place is a true gem! I visited this Goodwill location twice in one weekend! It is not for the faint at heart though. I recommend this location for experienced thrifters, not the Mackelmore singing beginner thrifters as most will not find this place enjoyable. I was taken aback when I walked in because it is not like your typical Goodwill. I walked in and instead or racks of clothing, there are large bins. You have to sort through piles of stuff to find cool things. Sometimes that stuff is dirty and smells. After all, it's the bottom barrel stuff from all the Goodwill locations that are sent here. With that said you can find some great things! You just need to level set your expectations going in. They charge per pound for clothing which is a steal! Most of my items ended up being $1 each. I swear I would have paid anywhere from $5-10 for each item had I bought these at a different location. 1-25 lbs is charged at ~$2.19/lb but once you go over 25 lbs+ I believe they charge ~$1.29/lb. For clothing I assume each piece will cost about $1 unless you buy something with heavy material like sweaters and jackets. Other items like books, CD's, videos and furniture are charged per item but are still pretty reasonable. My Dad bought a nice arm chair for $10. Overall this is the cheapest place to thrift in Portland! I can afford to come here every weekend if I please since the prices are so low. They also bring out new bins constantly so you can take a break from thrifting by sitting in the furniture section for a little while before resuming. A lot of the stuff is junk, let me be real with you. However, you can find some gems! I saw a lady pick up a Jimmy Choo bag right as I saw it and am still thinking about that find that probably cost her a whole $2. Oh well...next time! read more

Pros: 1) This is my favorite place to find clothing. Their selection is great and much easier to pick through unlike the Milwaukie location which STUFFS their bins with a lot of dirty, stained junk. This one consistently has great finds. Cons: 1) Minimal home items. They used to have tons but I have noticed them having less and less. 2) The staff is the absolute worst part of this location. I understand they frequently have to deal with sketchy shoppers and the homeless, but they are just so unpleasant and quite frankly, bad at their jobs. The registers are always 5+ customers deep and I see TONS of workers in/out of the break room, wandering around, etc. but they are nowhere to be found when the line builds up. Those on the register are usually the same people and they have 0 awareness. They usually have to reminded to call for backup. Today when I was visiting, one of the employees LITERALLY cut me in line to buy her bottle of water and energy drink. I just stared at her in disbelief. Like I said, just terrible. 3) They do not accept card charges for anything under $1. I don't remember if there is a sign for this. So if you find something lightweight and don't have cash or change, forget it. It's incredibly frustrating when you are unaware of this rule and stand in the large line for 10 minutes just to be told you can't buy your item. Overall, its OK. They could really be something special if their staff was friendlier and less spaced out. read more

They had grab bags for a flat price near the front of the store, in blue bins. My best find was a Planet Box lunchbox. It was included in the "per pound" pricing. About Goodwill outlets: I love Goodwill outlets for the cheap prices. Unfortunately, thrift store prices are on the rise. Goodwill outlets are the exception. If you haven't been to one, what are you waiting for? Here are a few things you should know about goodwill outlets before you go: Everything is thrown into long, blue bins. You will have to dig and search for good finds. You may find things brand new with tags. I found items from Target and designer items brand new, with tags. Most items are sold by the pound. Each goodwill region sets their own prices. For this goodwill, 0-25lbs of clothing and miscellaneous items is about $2.19/lb. over 25lbs is $1.29lb. Glass is $0.69/lb. Books, electronics, appliances, and a few other items are priced individually. Carts may be hard to come by, so get creative. Bring some gloves. Nasty items get mixed in (I wash my items right after). There are vultures! Some people aren't nice. Get used to it. You may get an adrenaline rush! Check items thoroughly as no refunds are allowed. For example, I found a brand new skirt with the Macy's tags still attached. Upon checking it out further, I noticed the security tag was still attached. The blue bins are rotated by staff. When they take a blue bin out, they'll replace it with a new one. Stand there until they bring it out for the best selection of items. read more

The bins! This place is ridiculous. What happens to unwanted Goodwill clothes? They end up at outlet locations, such as this one, and sold by the pound. People rifle through bins filled with unwanted clothes, books, household items, etc. at an alarming rate. While sorting through bins, you will quickly discover why items have made it here. But every once in a while, you find something great. If you haven't been to one of the locations previously, keep your eyes open to learn the process. I highly recommend bringing some rubber gloves. The parking lot is packed and people go inside with shopping carts (shopping carts!). This is a cool Goodwill since it's an outlet store. They have way more furniture to pick through than a typical goodwill. Some desks that I saw were $1 (some were $10). They have some really antique pieces as well as other gently used pieces that would be a great project for an upcycle. They have a lot of unique chairs and like-new file cabinets. People seem to love looking through the mish-mash of blue bins! Clothing, glassware, lamps, novels. I saw a worker rolling in a new blue bin, and a dozen people were already standing in a line, waiting to look through the bin which I thought was interesting! Overall a cool place. read more

The Bins is always an experience. On one hand I can't believe all the brand new and nearly new clothing I've found. I've also found vintage california pottery, vintage tools, good books, perfectly good dress shoes, coats, and much more. Now the bad side is of course this is stuff not even Goodwill could get rid of, and sometimes that's totally ew!!! Always wear gloves, and sometimes o lordy it's smelly. Just avoid those bins because new ones are on their way in! I like that it's smaller than the Sellwood bins. Less crowded. This was definitely a unique experience to say the least. They replace the tables here really quickly, and it seems to be pretty nice and clean. I'm guessing that's because it's newer. It's hard to come by a shopping cart here, though. Cashiers are extremely slow. There's a woman who works there that's super agro all the time, yelling "TABLE" and "GET YOUR HANDS OFF THE TABLE I AM NOT DONE" to people who lose their shit over fresh bins full of basically trash. There are some passionate dumpster divers here and they will get straight up crazy with you if you mess with the process of the table-swapping. Anyway, this is definitely a place to check out if you're looking for some cheap furniture or project stuff. If you have a few hours to spare, you could really get lost in here. My genuine tip is to WEAR PLASTIC GLOVES! You are literally sorting through trash in a lot of scenarios here, so you won't regret it. read more

Not a good example of Goodwill. The employees act as if they have the right to treat your poorly. You get yelled at and given dirty looks from employees. There are "rules" and if you don't know them the employees are ever to treat you like crap. Also, the employees aren't doing a good job of presorting the bins. When I was looking through the bins, I found pills laying in the bottom of the bin which could have easily gotten into the wrong hands. Honestly not worth your time in my opinion. Sadly I did tell a person who identified as a person in charge and they told me to go tell an employee at the back of the store who was in the back room before I could reach her. Buyer beware! Watch closely when they ring you up. Some tellers are great and will charge you the price posted. Others will charge you more than you will pay at the regular goodwill. Somehow at this last sale two small picture frames weighted in at 5 lbs. there is NO way the weight that much. If I had bought the same things on the Seattle goodwill it might have cost me 1/4 the amount but likely less. I know goodwill has recently raised their prices but this is ridiculous. Someone needs to rethink the strategy of over charging. It leaves a bad feeling. It's also poor corporate citizenship: getting stuff free and then overcharging people who can't afford it. We came during Thanksgiving weekend. It's easy to find. Parking is plentiful. It's like any other Goodwill Outlet. It doesn't smell or if it did, I didn't notice it. There seems to be a lot of furniture here. I was hoping to find some cool T-shirts but didn't find as many as I had hoped. I like that the rules are the same as the outlet by my house in that when new bins are coming in, you have to wait until they're all in place before you start digging. It's nice to be able to look without the frenzy. Also the rates per pound is significantly less than others (which went up a few nickels recently). read more

Picked up a cool beer mug and some Christmas ornaments plus a bunch of hot wheels track sections and music CDs. All for $7.52! What a deal. The other stuff is $1.59 per pound. But the more you buy the lower the per pound price gets. Ideal for combining purchase with whoever you bring shopping. The building is large and clean. Plenty of parking. I don't love this goodwill bins outlet. It's small and it's alot cleaner and newer than the others. Those are good things. But it's got so very little that it would not be worth my while to go here if I wasnt in the hood already. I did manage to find a cool duvet cover, stuffed animals, a scale, and a bunch of other crap for $14 (by the pound, so the scale tipped me... get it...). If I could give this a zero I would. I am a big fan of the original bins so I understand what I am getting into. That being said, this place was thoroughly disgusting and this opinion has been confirmed by at least 10 people I know. It was absolutely disgusting. Soiled and smelly clothing (actually saw heavily stained period underwear)!!!! Bins were nearly empty although a peek in their stockroom revealed multiple pallets waiting to be distributed. The staff seems to be obsessed with stealing carts even when they were right next to someone. The only place I found anything good was in the housewares department. I will not be returning. So disappointed because it is near my house and close to Costco!! read more

The scales cheat! My mom and dad goes to Goodwill a lot. Today they noticed that the scales were over weighing their stuff. At the store they weighted the items 14.5 lbs but at home my parents weighted them at less than 9 lbs! Then they went back to the outlet and they weighted them again at 10 lbs! What a scam!! And they would not return my parents' money as a result of their inaccurate scale. My parents are never going to this outlet. This is one of the few goodwill stores that is clean and tidy all the time. We buy many books here because their book section is organized and has decent selection. The clothes are also well organized and arranged by sizes and type of clothing. Keep up the good work goodwill staff! read more

I have shopped bins with my mom since I was a child and now go with my kids and I've always loved the Milwaukie store such deals on clothing and furniture is priced so well. I was so excited when I saw the new Goodwill closer to my house opening I came early on opening day and the prices were just like the Milwaukie even for furniture. Now few months later Every thing is by the pound even super heavy metal items that should have a price tags. Furniture prices are insane. $250 for a small couch and an outdoor love seat frame WITHOUT cushions for $75, a dresser for $150? The Milwaukee store furniture doesn't go more than around $25 for these items which is the price it should be for an OUTLET. they've got their prices marked as a resale vendor which isn't what they are. You get your items donated for FREE. The reason people go to an OUTLET is because they can't afford the regular goodwill prices (or just can't find a good enough reason to pay the jacked up prices for free donated items) the prices shouldn't be searched online and sold as resale items but as OUTLET prices. Don't go there anymore, I would rather drive an extra 20 mins for the better prices and much happier and friendlier staff read more
