Wow... this is the Goodwill of Goodwills: a Goodwill Outlet Store. I'm in awe. Sold by the pound, you dig through bins of unsorted junk discarded by strangers. I found a funeral program (RIP Jim) next to a gorgeous high end basket with leather straps next to a broken toy. One step up from dumpster diving, you can find some gems next to literal trash, but at least there are no raccoons. My super cute Pac-Man lamp was $1.62.

Etched glass, found one to complete my set of 8!

One of the best Goodwill centers in the Portland area! In addition to the tons and tons of clothes and jeans, they have an area that contains a substantial amount of furniture. Not just the small items like an end table or chair, but sometimes a full dining set. Great for people just getting situated in an apartment or home and need a lot of things on the cheap. They also have a decent houseware section. That's my area. I'm always looking for vintage glasses & bar ware, and dishes and serving pieces. Surprisingly, I have found some amazing pieces and have been able to build a full set of several different types of glasses by finding one or two at each Goodwill stores. It's all about the hunt and being patient. Love when it all comes together. Here I found a tall ice tea glass with etched pine cones to complete my set and join the 7 glasses I had already found at other stores. Score!!!

All of the goodies!

Okay guys, this is by far the best Goodwill Bins I have been to! I had only been to the ones in California that mainly have clothes (& are much smaller). I was SO surprised by how many bins there were and also by how organized everything was. $2.19 a lb & even with a bunch of people inside I still scored some treasures! I came here twice on my trip to Portland. Both times were great! No pushing or shoving- just one instance where a man was digging through a bin and hit me with a pile of clothes... I loved how many household goods & toys there were. I'm used to just seeing piles of clothing. Downside is that everything gets mixed up and there's a slight chance of a sharp object ending up in your bin (ouch)! Overall, such a fun experience and I was glad that they changed the bins a few times while I was there. It gave me a good opportunity to find some nice items! A few of the goodies: REI Jacket, Nike Jacket, Vintage The Lion King Simba Plush, and tons of Vintage Clothing! This place will definitely be back on my list for my trip next summer. But note to self: bring a bigger luggage next time!

This place is crazy!

Okay, there is some crazy stuff going on at this place. Truth be told, I knew absolutely nothing about Goodwill Bins, no expectations, went with family members who were in the know. There is a system, it's is definitely organized chaos. All these bins, in theory (not 100%) there is a theme to each bin. Bins are in rows and are moved in and out of the warehouse by row. When a row goes out, people line up on either side and wait for the new bins to come in. You don't start looking through a new bin until all the bins for that row have been placed. There may be a secret signal going on here, or perhaps it's just the honor system, but no one jumpstarts the process, everyone waits until all the bins are lined up. $2.19 a pound to start, the more pounds you buy, the price per pound goes down. What's in the bins? Everything. For my first time I bought three strands of light up candy canes that you would put along a walk way, lots and lots of clothes, a rustic metal tool box and a couple of books. All in, $34. I'm going to suggest you wear plastic gloves if you are squeamish because just about everything you touch is not particularly clean. Get a cart, prepare to get down & get dirty and plan on getting an amazing assortment of stuff for fabulous prices. All of the staff that I interacted with with very nice and helpful.

It's a really unique goodwill, I've never seen something like this. It's a lot harder to find stuff because nothing sorted, but the price per pound made things so cheap. I woukd steer clear if you have some germaphobia.

Selection and value of the colored tag sales items. Service has been ok. I go to the different stores in the area for bigger selection.

What forms of payment do they take?

We accept cash and card payments. Thank you! (Apple Pay and Samsung Pay currently not supported)

Can I drop off clothes here?

Hi John, Thank you for reaching out and thinking of us for your donation. We have a trailer at the outlet that accepts clothes.

I plan on coming here in the next few weeks. Is there a certain system in place where only a few people are let in at a time? Also, are the hours on Yelp correct?

We walked right in.

My desire to have a houseful of shabby chic stuff is well documented. I was married for 14 years to someone who...well, his taste runs more to office depot. I made the journey today to check out these cute little Peruvian mirrors they get in from time to time. I'd ideally like 5 silver ones. They only had three I wanted and one wasnt totally silver...so I didnt buy today. But I will keep monitoring and likely go in again. Theyre freaking adorable. There was no one around at noon on Sunday so I could drool in peace. They had a number of cool old pieces. All the drawers opened easily ( unlike my current cool old pieces). I could have happily loaded up my car if I only had a place for them and a wad of cash. Not only do they have cool old stuff but they will paint/refinish/distress your cool old stuff too. Sweet. And they have sales from time to time on facebook. There was street parking right on 6th in front of their door. Easy peasy. They do have two steps up into their space if accessibility is an issue, fyi. Still pondering the bright green bar cart....it was cuuute. P.S. if you go check the hours on facebook. Theyre not the same ones listed on yelp. The store opened at noon today, not 9.

I really enjoyed the unique and varied pieces in this store. Not your average antique store for…read moresure.

And judging by the layout, it looks like individual folks rent spaces here and pay a percentage of sales to the house. The place is well organized and easy to browse. And although very little in this large selection did anything for me, to each their own. Suuuuper unfriendly vibes here. My only regret when visiting Portland was stopping by this store…read more I was actually excited before walking in. I adore vintage. And it seemed to be a pretty good sized store, looked good through the window, and had easy parking I'm not sure how many different staff members there are and if others any different. But there is a man working there that just seemed to immediately have the stink eye towards me and other customers, seemingly for just existing. And I'm an introvert, so I'm not the type of person that expects high maintenance, super smiley customer service - neutral is always totally fine. But this guy wasn't neutral at all. You can tell when someone looks down on you. Plus dude was curt, cranky and snapped at people. (And this wasn't a situation where I missed the start of an interaction and didn't have that context) Luckily he didn't say anything to me specifically, possibly because I initially had my fawn response of putting my head down and trying to make myself smaller as I browsed. But then he started barking at other people, including women. And his tone and snappiness was so repellant to hear that I left the store as fast as I could. It just completely ruined the shopping experience and made me feel very unsafe. I can't imagine how the other customers must have felt and I hope their day got better after that visit. Its possible it could be a different experience when other people are on shift but I'd be very hesitant to try it again, unfortunately. And judging by past reviews I'm seeing, this isn't an isolated "just a bad day" kind of incident. I do not understand how yelling and judgy looks are ever necessary or acceptable, whether it comes from customers, employees, or employers. Why not choose kindness and gentleness?
