This is a pretty big store. They have lots of miscellaneous merchandise not just tons of clothes which I appreciate. Tons of kids toys. More reasonably priced than other Goodwill's. Although jewelry was pricy. read more

Just a really odd experience today at checkout. A customer at the only register open began checking out, along side this register is a showcase of jewelry. The employee began to ring this customer up, and the customer (who has a cart full of items) decides she is isn't done shopping and decides she wants the only employee working the checkstands to pull out the rings in the showcase. The customer proceeds to take her sweet time trying on ring by ring and holding them up on her hand,taking it off, and trying on another all while the line is growing. The employee finally calls on the loud speaker for help with the line, a guy comes out, and for some reason couldn't log into any check stand, so he asks the employee to have the clueless customer( still trying on jewelry) to move over to the side to finish her shopping, but the employee who was allowing the woman to shop while checking out could not move her to the side because she was half way through ringing this clueless lady's cart full of stuff up when the lady decided she wasn't done shopping and tied the employee up in showcase ... Finally the guy was able to log into a register and calls out that he can take the next customer but CREDIT or DEBIT only, and of coarse, me being next in line behind clueless customer, was paying with cash!!! After waiting almost 10 minutes in line, I was finally able to check out, and the clueless customer was still looking at jewelry at the register. Any normal person would have asked this lady to move off to the side to finish her shopping, instead of appeasing the egregious behavior. read more

SHAME Shame shame! They have closed the ONE changing room so there is no where to try on clothes. The restrooms are now locked so customers have to walk to the front of the store, interrupt a cashier, and have that person walk back to unlock the restroom. TERRIBLE Customer Service for the person who needs to check out!! The prices have increased to be more expensive than Walmart for used goods. Just shut your doors already, you're done. read more

This store has closed their dressing rooms, so you are now stuck buying the items, taking them home and trying them on. If they don't fit, you have to return them within 7 days for store credit that you have to use the same day. The same day use of the credit you receive for returning clothes is ridiculous. This is just another ploy for Goodwill (whose CEO makes over a million dollars per year) to make money because lots of people will simply not return clothes that do not fit within the allotted timeframe or use the store credit in the same day. The store's justification is that they are losing money because of theft that is taking place in the dressing rooms. That's funny given that they don't pay a cent for items they receive because they are donated. Goodwill is no different than another other business for profit; it's all about money and not necessarily about providing a fair service to its customers. Its employees are also paid a miserable rate of pay. Very disappointing all around. read more

Prices are INSANE, clothes wise that is. I get my jeans at goodwill I am a mobile mechanic and go through them fast. I get used Levi's for 10-30$ on Facebook market place and every other goodwill. This goodwill had a couple pairs 50$ each LOL really that's INSANE, you can get 505's and signature Levi's for 30-40$ NEW on Amazon and 10-15$ used anywhere else. I brought this up to the employee that had nothing but attitude, their response to this over price stuff was good for you go buy them then. No one here wants to work they all have attitude because we are BUGGING them and waisting their time asking questions or needing help. The 5 stars review are FAKE!!!! There is NO way any of them are real. Read the reviews then go there and see for yourself, be pretty seriously be ripped off anyone buying this stuff had no clue what it cost new and they are getting suckered. read more

I usually make a monthly thrifting trip to the local thrift stores in the areas. The clothes in this goodwill don't sell and unfortunately are WAY overpriced. I see the same stuff on the racks from the month before. Hopefully they will learn that they could actually sell more and make MORE money by lowering the prices to match thrift store prices in the area. Line of about ten cars trying to donate as they sort through every bag telling you what they will and won't take. Dude removed a coin battery from a kitchen scale and handed it back - would be nice to know if the scale worked, hard without a better. I definitely won't donate here again. Also just a bunch of literal junk in the store, all overpriced (stuff we donated was nicer than stuff for sale). For the cost of my time, the dump is cheaper. read more

Dishonest and rude all at once. Called ahead about donating a very nice sofa and loveseat. Great condition. Manager Shannon. said they would accept donation "depending on condition." No problem. Drove down from South Lake only to be told they didn't have room. I could see in the warehouse. Plenty of room. I asked to speak to the Shannon. Shannon said she had to speak to her other manager. Donation guy came out and said they would accept. Different (very unpleasant) manager then came out and said they didn't have room for both. Good Lord. Explained again that we came down from South Lake based on the Shannon's representation. Manager then lied to my face about what Shannon had said on the phone call (that she wasn't even on). Said she would only take one. So instead of honoring their word, they now want to split up the set. Hello? I drove in to donate items and clothing. The young man who came out was very rude and very disinterested in what I had in the trunk stating they were very selective and took Limited amount of donation. I asked him to take a look to see if there was something he would take and he said no. He then stated he was hurt and could not lift items. Why would they have someone like that at the back door?? What a very poor contact and has certainly changed my point of view towards Goodwill. Depending on the day time and person receiving it should be named badwill. read more

I come to this store sometimes just to look around. Today my mom & I went. She needed a blow dryer. She found two blow dryers and got both of them. She also got a nice football nd two board games for us to play. I trust the condition of the board games here. I looked around as I was waiting on my mom and found a Charming Charlie shirt in new condition, as well as a used book for $2.99. The clothes were very organized and clean. If I had the money, I would have shopped more. Would love to work here! Definitely turning in my application. read more

One star because... 1. They try to sell dirty, muddy and old as hell shoes for $15! When they look they should just go straight to the trash. 2.They have lots of junk, no, literally, junk, garbage . 3. The women working there are rude as hell, they like to gather and talk instead of opening up another cashier to get line moving. 4. Small, cramped aisles make it difficult for two people with carts to cruise and check their junk. 5. Prices were highest I've ever seen for a thrift store. The staff was incredibly busy but to many in my opinion. Bags of jewelry in the toy section ripped open possibly why high prices. Or that the store is new and incredibly high overhead. Or the store is far to neat and clean for a thrift store. The staff was very nice though but I'm afraid I will not be going back because I sell vintage and collectibles with my wife while I finish my degree. The prices were higher then what they were worth. Great store but I think they get more than a little heavy handed with their pricing, Some of the items are price very close to retail. I have read some bad reviews about the drive up donation experience at Goodwill Placerville. I have been there four times and have no complaints. The first time there was a 4 car wait, so I left. The next three times there was no wait and, I received good service. I was there yesterday and today with large loads since, we are down sizing and moving to an old folks home. Luis waited on me. He was pleasant and was competent as to what they could take and the speed in which he performed his function. The experiences at Goodwill exceeded my expectations. read more

Won't donate here again after two bad experiences, and won't shop here either due to unprofessional staff. The first time I donated here I was informed they would only take one item (I made sure that one item was not the new expensive small appliances I later donated to Snowline Hospice). Today I called this location to ask if there was a limit on donations and was told there was not. But when I was donating, the guy stopped halfway through unloading stating there was a line of cars so he wasn't going to take anymore from my car. He was very rude and arrogantly dismissive, as if he's doing folks a favor by taking their donations. Like others who posted reviews, a lot of the items I donated were brand new in boxes - great items to sell right before x-mas. Clearly this location has personnel problems and is poorly managed. Nice. Clean. Brand New. Clothing items are tops! Many designers and brand names! Pretty good furniture: Desks, Dressers, Coffee Tables, etc., but not a lot of furniture like chairs and sofas. Not a lot of electric kitchen appliances and such. good toys and glassware, nice lamps...shoes suck, though. All in All, A very nice Goodwill, a little body odor stank from the clothes when you first walk in, it's not as bad as some thrift stores. Employees are nice, knowledgeable and helpful. They do need some guidance on how to deal with unruly, argumentative customers, for sure. read more

I hit every Goodwill I pass, and can say this please is Easily the most overpriced Goodwill I've been to in years. It WAS clean, and pretty well organized. But the prices were much higher than other Goodwills, even in the Bay Area. Also, they don't do the colored price tag/weekly sale; I asked and it appears they only do the half price sales once a week? I can't say I've been to ANY other Goodwill that does that. Also, they WRITE the price on many things, such as ceramics, figurines, etc. I don't like that.... I know these places need to MAKE money...but they have to be realistic in their prices. These things are USED. In some cases they are chipped, or missing parts/pieces, or more expensive than they were brand new (for some reason this happens with Ikea stuff all the time!). Will skip this location next time I'm in town. read more

It's hard to believe some of the reviews left here. One person commented on the "stank" of the clothes as you enter. Another commented on high prices and another complained it was closed on Thanksgiving day!!! Pathetic. This is a Goodwill, not a Macy's. My experience was excellent. I found a pair of Hoka running shoes for 10 dollars!! New in a store they are $135-175.00. I also bought 12 pairs of shorts to take to a family in the Philippines for 60.00. Uh and.....No "Stank". I went in for the first time today (the store opened for the first time a week ago). The store is clean and there are a lot of items to browse. The clerks are friendly, mine was dressed in a Halloween costume, (really spirited, I thought!!). I did find some of their pricing to be expensive for a used item, but still found plenty of goodies (I spent $50). ***NOTE TO MANAGEMENT: You need theft prevention, you have brazen thieves in your store. I saw a woman putting items into a bag on one aisle, then as I passed the next aisle, her relative was doing the same. I do not want you to be forced to raise prices on the rest of us because you are losing money to trashy people who steal (from a charitable organization, no less!) read more

Very rude! Worst place to donate. Make you stand out and wait so they can go through everything you donate. Including every bagged item you bring. Will not be donating to them anymore. Need employees with better people skills at the collection area. This has happened on multiple occasions with not just one employee at the donation collection area ,but multiple employees there. I was very disappointed with this store. I called in the morning to see if they were taking donations yet ( covid 19). I was informed yes on household goods but no furniture. I was also informed the new donation hours were 10am-3pm. So I loaded up and drove an hour to the Goodwill to give them good condition household goods for free, to sell and make money. When I arrived after driving 1 hour I was told that they were only taking glass and clothing. When I called back I was informed thats all they were taking because they were full. Wish they would have said they might get full on the phone before I drove 1 hr. Now it all goes to the dump and I pay $7 to dump it. I will no longer donate or shop this Goodwill. They have lost a good customer! read more

One of the best goodwills I've been to. It was super organized and I found some really good items to include a lululemon jacket and a Nike jacket. Everything was fairly priced and the store was very clean. The employees were helpful and there was good parking! read more

This is a great location! Staff are friendly, building and bathrooms are clean and you can find great merch here for incredible prices. I usually make the trip out here when they have a 50% off sale. The 50% off sale includes all donated items except for new items, which are located near the cash registers. Great place to find brand name clothing and housewares for cheap prices. Go here if you want to avoid the chaos at Folsom Goodwill. The drive will be worth it. read more

Absolutely ridiculous prices and horrible customer service!!!!! I found some reasonably priced brand name items and when I went up to the register, the extremely RUDE cashier commented "oh no someone made a mistake on these. These are really expensive." I told her I was aware but the price on both of the tags said $3.99. She replied "yeah I know that but that's a mistake. We have some new people back there who don't know what they're doing. I'll have to call my manager and see if she'll sell it for that price". While waiting for the manager's response, she continued to lecture me about how all Goodwills have a pricing chart for their top brands and what they're supposed to be priced at. I told her I've found some reasonably priced similar pieces at other locations in the area. She proceeded to argue that the brand is really expensive and they need to charge more to which I reminded her that all of the items here are USED and most importantly... DONATED. The manager returned the call stating that she couldn't sell it for the price marked and they need to charge $8.99 each instead. For their own mistake... The customer is NOT always right here. Only the greedy employees. Don't even bother arguing a case because you'll always lose. Do better. read more

They wouldn't take my donation of nice clothes because I didn't have a mask with me in the truck. I had set the bag of clothes outside my truck and was told to get out with a mask on and hand the bag to them. I left, I'd rather throw the clothes away than deal with idiots. read more

This place is an absolute ripoff! Giving the 2 stars because it is impressively neat and tidy for a thrift store. The prices are way too high-I am talking $20 for a child's toy fire truck and $5 for a shabby old pencil holder. Definitely won't be going back! read more
