I enjoy shopping at the Fort Worth Bins and visit frequently. One of the reasons I continue to come back is because, for the most part, customers and staff are respectful, and you're able to shop at your own pace without feeling pressured to participate in the chaos that can sometimes happen when new bins are rolled out. I consistently find great items and have had many positive experiences here. The only issue I experienced recently left me confused. I often shop for several hours, and my husband accompanies me for safety. We bring a small portable step stool that belongs to us so he has a place to sit near our cart while I shop. Our name is clearly marked on the stool, and on previous visits we have always checked with the front desk to let them know it is our personal property. We were told that was fine. During our most recent visit, management informed my husband that he either had to pay for the stool or take it back to the car. Since the stool belongs to us, this was confusing. If there is a policy prohibiting personal seating items inside the store, I completely understand and would be happy to comply. My concern was not the policy itself, but the way the situation was handled. As a regular customer who spends over $200 a week at this location, I believe kindness and respectful communication go a long way. At the end of the day, people may not always remember what was said, but they will remember how they were treated. A little kindness is one of the best things we can offer each other. read more

I have shopped this location for sometime now. But recently I was yelled at multiple time for having my shopping cart in front of what I was told was the exit door. I was told not to block the exit door. After examining the door, there are .multiple braces used to seal the door close. So if this is an exit door, it should be reported to the fire depot. read more

For less than $10 i got: 4 shirts, 2 new (in package) cardboard magazine holders, some wrapping ribbon, a bamboo cutting board in the shape of California with engraved city names and pictures, a set of envelopes, stationary, and stickers, letter stamps, a small unused journal with textured paper, and some more little bits and things i dont remember. They had LOTS of cool stuff and this location is one of the biggest ive been to (ive also been to the bins in seattle and saint louis) they were cycling stuff throughout the hour or so my friend and i were there and my friend had an even bigger haul (a whole cart full of clothes/bags/art supplies/shoes/etc..) all for around $40. You can find some awesome stuff if you're willing to dig a bit and put in the time. I recommend coming early and definitely bring gloves! read more

This is not your normal goodwill, this is THE BINS! Google It before you go to be prepared. I mean bring gloves, hand sanitizer, a big bag and maybe a face mask. This stuff is not merchandised, everything is thrown into long shallow bins, some are direct from goodwill and others are donations that maybe damp or stained or sharp! Seriously, first time i went I made the mistake of not using gloves and pickup some damp questionable clothing. But the clothes are sold by the pound, I Think about $1.79lb and different prices on media etc. I've found some great treasures digging, vintage, brand names (loft, french connection, soft surroundings, levis), new etc. I can't give this place a higher rating because it's dusty and dirty but oh boy what deals!! read more

Avoid This Goodwill Outlet ; This Location Treats Customers poorly I went to Goodwill on Wednesday afternoon and was there for about 30 minutes. When the bins were being brought out, one customer, who was clearly new and unfamiliar with the rules started digging through them before all the bins had been placed out. This created a ripple effect, and soon everyone else began digging as well. At that moment, a tall woman shouted, "Get your (effen expletive) hands out of there! You people are like (expletive) animals!" Yes, this is Goodwill, and yes, many of the shoppers here may not fit the profile of your average retail store customer. However, we deserve the same level of respect as anyone shopping at any other retail establishment. I found her statement " you people" particularly harsh and racially charged, as she was Anglo and the majority of the shoppers were Latino. I mentioned the incident to the cashier, who claimed she hadn't heard it but said she would notify her manager. This is the most disorganized and dirty Goodwill outlet I've ever visited. They have a single base price for everything, including books and fragile items like glassware. This place is so stressful ; always concerned u may slip and falls, and gets seriously injured due to the broken glassware , picture frames and dishes haphazardly thrown in with other items. It makes absolutely no sense. If a glass vase didn't sell at the goodwill retail store for $3.49 and no one bought it on half off day either only to end up in the bins, why would anyone pay $2.05 per pound ($10.25) for a 5-pound vase? Additionally, all the media and books that didn't sell for 99 cents end up in the garbage. Since books typically weigh 1 to 2 pounds, and Goodwill's scales always round up (you'll never be charged for 1 pound 4 ounces--it'll always be rounded to 2 pounds), it's no wonder people just toss them to the side . What a service Goodwell could provide if they priced books differently, like the Dallas outlet does, especially for this impoverished community where many are immigrants . What a missed "goodwill" opportunity Instead, this store fails to cater to its demographic and, worse, treats them like garbage. While I did find a couple of items and was ready to check out, the experience only got worse. There were about six people in front of me in line. There was only one cashier at noon , figured everyone went to lunch . The cashiers are quite efficient and fast, so I didn't mind the wait at first. However, the cashier ended up having system issues. After about 15 minutes of waiting for the manager, the line just got longer and longer until this disheveled indifferent man showed up. He didn't make eye contact with the cashier or acknowledge her or the customers . Instead, he counted the register money, spent 5 to 8 minutes doing so, and then left. By this point, the line had wrapped around the entire back of the store, with 24 carts waiting to be checked out, and only one cashier. From a retail perspective, this is a fire hazard. Most managers would apologize to customers and open another register or handle the situation themselves. This is what I expected having worked retail before . To my surprise, the indifferent man simply walked away. When I finally made it to the register, the friendly cashier apologized for the long wait and reminder her she was doing her best and that I appreciated the apology . She even defended her manger and said he didn't open another register because he had a lot of work to do . What an amazing employee , she doesn't get any help but stays positive . As I was done checking out and walking to my car , I see that manager get in his car and drive off . I was absolutely appalled. I must have been his lunch time too . I will acknowledge that most of the cashiers are friendly and hardworking. I've spoken to several, and they're aware of the issues, but no one seems to do anything about it. I'm writing this to bring awareness to the disrespectful way the majority Latino crowd is treated and the chaotic, illogical way items are thrown into the bins, including broken picture frames and glassware that I'm sure wasn't broken before being tossed in. Goodwill needs to be held accountable, and there needs to be order at this location just like the Dallas outlet , before someone gets seriously hurt. Heaven forbid a child digging through the bins for toys gets cut by broken glass. Please, do something about this Goodwill. read more

I'm confused about pricing. There is nothing posted about pricing around the store. I asked the register person and they told me $2.05 per pound, but my receipt said $1.89. I do not like the new configuration of the bins in the room on the right. There is no room at the end of the rows to go around to the next row. You have to backtrack and it causes a bottleneck. The rows are too close together. I liked when the rows were lengthwise in the room. Lots of room to move around and find the hidden treasures. read more

Rude and disrespectful employees, unsafe work practice!!! My husband and I are recently retired, and we like to do thrift shopping every once in a while. So, we were happy when we found Goodwill Outlet Dallas 3020 N Westmoreland Rd b, Dallas, TX 75212. The store itself is not too bad, a little dirty and messy, but in general it's ok for a thrift store. The biggest store problem is some extremely rude and disrespectful people who work there. This man, Terry, is this store's biggest problem, he should not be working around people. He yelled at me and two other women for absolutely no reason: "You see I am working here, move to the next aisle" ...and he pointed to the next aisle. So, we moved exactly where he pointed and continued shopping. Couple of minutes later I hear his loud angry scream again: "I am working here, don't stay in my way! Move!" I was quite surprised at this point because so far, I was doing everything exactly he told me. So, I am trying to stay as far as possible from this aggressive and rude person. And when I thought I am safe, he was passing by and unleashed his loud anger at couple more women right next to me... and it was not pretty. At this point, trying to be really polite, I said: "Excuse me, sir (yes, I called this loud mouth sir) you cannot talk to people in this manner". And this was the first time I ever said anything to him. He started yelling that this is his store, he can do whatever he wants... Two more people told him he is too rude, and he totally lost it, he told them to go shop somewhere else, promised to kick everybody out who disagrees, even threatened to call the police. Call the police for what? For him himself being rude? One more unsafe practice, I believe should be mentioned. On the day in question, there was heavy machinery working right in the shopping area for some time- a Boom Lift. Instead of having a person underneath yelling at everybody not to get close, there was supposed to be a caution tape or a barricade around the area. Neither the Boom Lift Operator nor his helper were wearing any of the required Safety gear. Neither had on Hard Hats, Safety Glasses, or Steel Toed Boots. The technician on the lift was also not wearing a Safety Harness. All of that put life of customers and workers in danger. Goodwill had one of their employees attempting to keep the area clear. That employee was also in the Danger Zone and again with absolutely no Safety Gear on. read more

Management is the worst part about this store. They tend to become power hungry and egotistical. I've been coming to this store everyday for one year. You'll think they'll treat you with more respect. It takes them 1 hour to pull each bin. But when you ask management their told to pull a new rotation every 30 minutes. I have seen multiple people kicked out for no reason by a manager named (Ray) who I blatantly seen him disrespect multiple well paying customers. This is the only goodwill bins In Fort Worth. I'm not sure why it's so dirty I can't really explain it. Maybe the floors or the smell of the room. I can't figure it out I keep trying this place and every time I go I have to leave. Also groups of re sellers sit in the back corner of the store with baskets full of any brand shoes regardless of size. They sit there most of the day and everytime new items are taken out they scramble like crack heads fighting over drugs to grab any item that might be of value. I went to the Goodwill Outlet on Westmoreland today and it was much improved for several reasons. #1. rather than the front (air-conditioned) room being only clothes, it was a mix of wares and clothes-this was great! #2 the ware bins were single file rather than doubled. This means that it's possible to actually see what's in the entire bin, by simply walking along both sides, unlike previously when the centers were completely out of reach and out of sight unless you're a tall, long armed person. It worked for men, but not so much for most women. Such a simple, yet helpful change and I really appreciated it!. It seems like maybe a management trained, customer service oriented person was making decisions. Consequently, I spent double what I usually do. There does seem to be a basket shortage-I waited for one in the parking lot and when I parked it in the big room someone swiped it and just put my bag on the floor. oh well, low class people gonna be low class. Employees seemed calmer and more polite and the 2 cashiers were actually friendly. read more

Dont waste your time at this outlet! I've been to many outlets across the country, east to west coast. This outlet is garbage! No media, books or electronics. After speaking to the staff member asking if they had media or electronic bins? They indicated they don't have those because they auction them off & it could cause harm. I was left speechless & that will be the first & last time in there. Rip-off centra! The bins that they did have were full of broken junk. I have to start my review for saying, don't go thrifting UNLESS you are willing to go on a bit of a treasure hunt. This is the smartest way to shop at any thrift store, flea market, garage sale or clearance sale. The lower price comes with a cost. This place is not a regular thrift store- everything is in large, waist height bins and totally unorganized. Sometimes they separate clothing from everything else but that is usually the extent of organization. One price for everything and it is under $2 per POUND! Sometimes things can be messy and unorganized and it requires some work on your part to find a win! There are days i would definitely NOT go here. Go energized and patient, bring a mask and gloves and i recommend your own wet wipes or hand sanitizer. You will for sure find a great deal. If you're looking for Goodwil or a classic thrift store when coming here, you will be majorly disappointed. This is a salvage store and the insanely low prices come to you at the cost of disorganization, and a bit of chaos to be honest. If you're up for a good hunt, and you brought your survival kit- you will for sure find something amazing. When i came here i found 2 brand new baby carriers, both originally around $50-$80 retail and weighing in at under 2LBS for both. Meaning less than $5 for both. I found tons of other great things, clothes for myself, my husband and my child that would have cost me at least $100 retail. Lastly, Kids toys! Kids change their minds when it comes to toys SO quickly and it's such a great idea to buy toys secondhand. We scored an array of plastic animals, trucks and kids books, baby toys and an educational game- all together at target would have cost us over $80 retail. Our entire bill for this day was around $40 dollars for everything. To clothe my family, entertain my little one, and prepare for an upcoming baby- or sell baby gear and make a small profit. I estimate that we got around $260 (if new, retail prices) worth of items for about $40. For my family and my budget this was a huge win! Here's what i will warn- they do not offer cart wipes or sanitizer on all days, they often run out. Bring your own! I like to wipe down my items as i put them in my cart just because- you never know! This store also does not have furniture like other goodwill outlets. If you are uncomfortable with people not wearing masks, i would hesitate to go. Many people are tired and physically searching pretty hard in the bins and prefer to remove their masks or remove them partially, BUT this is a huge place and most people are very good at giving plenty of social distance. If you don't like a messy store, don't go! It's chaotic and requires a bit of a hunt, like i said. You might find a brand new wedding dress right next to a broken microwave. It's crazy for some people, but if you want to find an amazing deal that you won't find anywhere else, Goodwill outlet is the place. As for my rating of 4 stars, if cleanliness was up a notch, sanitizer and cart wipes consistently provided, floor swept hourly and things in the bins that are obvious trash (eg broken microwave) removed, i would totally give this place 5 stars. I think they may have limited staff and budget so things like that can fall through the cracks. Still a great place to shop if you're willing to work for a good deal! read more

My first time shopping at a good will out will, and I will definitely be back. for those who have never been to an outlet, keep in mind that they sell items by the POUND. my store was $1.95 for each pound ( give or take ) I believe that if a single item weighs 7 pounds or more it's a set price, but im not too sure. I made sure to read reviews of what its like shopping at the outlet, and im glad I did, as it was exactly like how other were describing it. Its pretty much the size of a warehouse and everything is kept in bins. It would be helpful to bring some gloves, because some of the items are very dirty. But honestly the thrill of the hunt makes it worth it ! They bring out new bins occasionally, but I made sure to stay away when they did as people can get pretty crazy . honestly, not worth the hassle. I will say this is NOT a place to bring your kids. It's dusty and many of the bins are dirty. I saw someone shopping with their newborn child.. please don't bring your babies here ! I was a little skeptical at first, but was able to find some REALLY good items! I scored a buggy full of stuff and a couple big named brand items and paid penny on the dollar for them. It goes by weight, so have to be aware because can end up spending a fortune if you're not careful. Well worth the hunt! Digging though the bins and hunting for treasure is a thrill! I believe this location is like a "hub" for goodwill, they have some company offices here, officially the address for that is Campus drive, but the store itself faces Mansfield Hwy, such the two addresses for this location. Years ago, I would occasionally go in here because this was where all the electronic donated surplus would go. (I was told it still is) This location has a "computer store" with a separate entrance next to the main doors. Over the years it has changed in size and format, but every once in awhile I go in to check it out. This last visit the computer store has basically been turned into a small display area with older systems being marketed as complete solutions. In other words, mostly systems ready to go, with monitors, installed OS computers, up and running. Most of them are older Dell systems. There are also some shelves with various components, cables, older new in box ink carts, and some older software. Some interesting tidbits, but mostly old stuff that, some of which was really useful....years ago. However, the appealing part is that if you're still a dedicated XP or Windows 7 user, there were several systems for sale that were running these versions of OS. Not super fast systems, but nice all the same, and not anything over about $190 for a complete system, and most had a nice large format flat screen monitor included. Most systems had a good amount of RAM, and larger hard drives included, along with read/write DVD's. So, if you have a system that runs a particular older program, and need these OS machines, you might want to keep this place in mind if you ever need an older, in good condition, used computer system. I walked next door to the main store to check it out, and sadly found out that the main store only sells goods by the POUND! No more shelves or racks of clothes or large items on the floor. The whole store area is comprised of large roll around bins, that EVERYTHING is thrown into, and people are scrounging like pack rats through them. There are several oversize floor scales that people roll shopping carts up on, and then weigh them. Ugh, it looked like a hoarders dream house in there, and not something for the faint of heart. Super embarrassing and the cashier weighing wouldn't listen to reason; such as- "hey can I remove the cart I think it's throwing the weight off". Horrible managed store. 2 particilar managers are the worst. One blonde long hair she sleeps most of the time or hides out anyplace possible. Another weekend manager young guy don't have a clue what it takes to be in the role he's been handed. Short cashier black lady has horrible attitude almost every day on the weekends!. Interesting enough a few select customers whom are super friendly with the above mentioned employees seemingly 90% of the time know precisely where to position themselves on the line up spot to get the "high dollar favored items while ALL other customers are left to scrounge for remaining junk!!!!!! Watch with and you'll easily notice the same! Otherwise don't waste your time expecting any super great deals. I used to spend good $$$ but I cut it in 1/3. For an organization who doesn't value the customers or treat each one fairly, they're loosing lots! They need to change their policy about shoe exchange. There is none. I walked in the shoes but they were too tight. Went to exchange them, cause I needed shoes for my first day of work. Then cashier says no exchange on shoes. Then they should post that near the shoes. I donated them back cause what else could I do with them. But they can side hustle customers for change. I want my money back. Gave them 4 stars cause I like Goodwill but change your policy. People who shop them obviously don't have money to throw away. read more
