I have been shopping at Berry Good buys for 23 years. I like to go in about once a week because their inventory turns over fairly quickly. They carefully select items for sale from their donations. I have found Madewell, J. Crew, Gap, Hobo International, Minooy, and many vintage treasures. The only thing that would bump it back up to five stars is bringing back fitting rooms. Berry Good Buys was really hyped up to me, but it fell short when I visited. I love thrifting and make a particular point to try out local thrift stores whenever I can. I loved that this one supports a mission, but left empty handed. The pricing here was very, very high for a thrift shop. A lot of the items were priced like it is a consignment shop. Each clothing item was marked with a colored dot to indicate price, which I didn't love because it left a stain. I found a couple of things I liked, but with no dressing rooms and high prices, it wasn't worth it. Quality seemed relatively hit or miss with a lot of items showing visible wear and tear, yet still being marked up to $5, $10, $20 or beyond. On Saturday, I was in the area with my cuz and we decided to swing by. This is a very popular thrift store. I can see why. The entrance is very welcoming and peaceful. Berry Good Buys offers an assortment of items such as, houseware items, furniture and clothing. The clothing appears to be high end and of good quality. Check out time was easy, and was handled by a sweet multitasker who resembled Velma from Scooby- Do. I found a great bargain on a shirt that I have been wanting for awhile now! As I was thrifting, I made a lot of discoveries. The parking spots seem to be narrow. The store seemed like a maze to me. It seemed as though you had to go down a ramp, up a ramp and then up a few stairs to get to what you want. The floors were a bit rickety. A piece of clothing was not tagged either. Also, the donation station is popular. Unfortunately, I was blocked in my a woman dropping off her donations. So, you might want to keep that in mind. As for me and my cuz, we will return. I'm deeply saddened by this but their prices have just gotten out of hand. A used sweater for $17? Absolutely not. They used to be reasonable and i enjoyed going. However, the last few times I've been in, I've basically walked right back out. I'd rather go to Walmart. read more

TL;DR - Found what I needed, affordable, and it goes to a good cause. The money raised here goes to a good cause for women. It's near TCU and the Goodwill, so it's a nice little spot to drop in. The place is pretty well kept, not overflowing. Some items priced differently - like behind the cashier. But for the most part, dresses were $5, tops were $3 or more, I got shoes for $4 and a backpack for $4. I saw someone get the cutest tin picnic basket too and there was a 50% off houseware sale too. read more

New mgmt/changes the pricing has gone extremeley up & on expensive end with increase to past pricing $2, $5, $10 increase over & above what prices were before. So expect to pay a lot more for boutique that is now or might be damaged by their marker dots on fabric or leather items instead of on the labels. Regular items priced on high end now too. $12 -$15 for items that are broken, scratched or missing pieces. Many more things are not worth even being on the floor to sell (like shoes with dry rot) but is priced at $8 + when the item should be in a yard sale for 3 or the trash. New mgmt treats things as if the store items are all high end She is rude & she wears 3lbs of makeup. Tops priced as dresses when they are clearly not a dress to short , she'll argue even after proving the point. she was incorrect or wrong about something. My experience she is unprofessional. Kinda sad. Maybe because they no longer have Goodwill to compete with for donations they decided jack up prices. For a store that used to be constantly very busy, isn't anymore. They want to much cost wise & for the junky stuff. Little appreciation for the customers in there today. Used to be a warm welcome as you walked in the door. Smiles and can I help, NOT Anymore!! Donations for the DV shelter only they no longer do. They make the dv shelter victims use vouchers to buy things , when before items such as suitcases, new pillows, jackets , kids stuff etc . You could mark the box or bag "shelter only" so the survivors got the items directly. Guess I'll take my donations elsewhere now. Because after today, I won't be donating another packed carload like I did last Monday, a16 ft truck load full ,or even the 28ft truck load full I did last year when I was moving. This place is very hit or miss. When Rhonda came back I was so excited and the quality of the items and the prices were fair, but ever since they got new assistant managers and whoever is pricing the items now, has no idea how much things actually cost. A very old used blender $15, scratched no stick pots and pans $12. One small food storage container $5, it is outrageous! I understand that they items benefit a good cause, but all of their items are donated, they could make more profit by having a quick turn around time on their items. They prefer for items to sit for weeks/months on their shelves and racks because they are so overpriced vs. having quick turn around times on their items that are more fairly priced. This would benefit the store and the consumer. I really hope there is some type of change or someone realizes how poorly it is run by the new assistant managers and pricing clerks. read more

I was quite impressed with this store! I went in looking for a trendy side table for my office. I needed somethinh that would fit a decorative item, a Keurig and another small trinket. As I walked in, i spotted it. However, my trek there led me to many many more stops. They had some exceptional wall art, some very nice looking clothing, and a whole lot of jewelry. I hate leaving a mediocre review bc I love what berry good buy does for the community. I still plan on donating. I went for the first time in a year and saw that it had been remodeled. I loved the new setup. However, note I'm 7 months pregnant. I found an antique typewriter that I honestly should not have been lifting, and brought it to the counter. I politely asked the young cashier if I could set it up there since there was no way I could carry it around. No one could, let alone me. She just looked at me and said sorry we cant hold things up here. I get policies. I've worked in retail. But I would not have done that to a customer who needed help. I carried it back and left. I am in no way expecting special treatment but as someone who has managed stores, this just lacked being courteous. read more

The customer service here is lacking. It's pretty rude and obnoxious that they expect you to shop the furniture but they refuse to help you out to your car with it. They won't lift a finger to assist ladies taking furniture to their vehicles. It's awful. They lack basic human decency in my opinion. I've been on the hunt for vintage pieces to repurpose and thought I'd give BGB a try after reading a review for a completely different store that made a reference to this location. Unfortunately I was pressed for time so I went in with the mindset that I was only there for particular objects; had that not been the case I know I would have done some serious damage! Staff was very friendly upon entering. It does have more of a boutique vibe as others have described. Majority of the furniture (and certainly any large items) are located to your right upon entering. They had a number of pieces that I wished I had seen prior to having already purchased similar items. There is a tiny kids section in the far back right corner where clothes are all $2 unless otherwise marked. They have a very small selection of toys that all looked only slightly used. The furniture selection was decent but the prices were a bit all over the place. A TV stand for $10; hutch for $40; another hutch for only $15; small side table $5; a near new couch for $150; two accent chairs $10 each... so yes, a bit up and down. They have a great selection of art and framed pictures; however, the majority all start at $15 each. While many of these are from Kirkland's and still have the $30+ dollar sticker on the back, unless you absolutely love it or you're after large framed artwork, I'd just buy these items from Marshall's or the like. The middle section / area you first walk into features clothing and items from more upscale designers and were fairly cheaply priced compared to other stores I've been to and most were in near new condition if not actually new. I didn't explore the clothing on the left side of the store but quickly browsed through the odd and end kitchen items they had and found a beautiful solid wood basket ($2) as well as a wire basket ($1) I was in need of. Those along with the few kids pieces I found, I spent less than $15 but I'll certainly be back to look in more depth! read more

My sister n I went into Berry Good Buys this evening n had ana amazing experience! Cristal n Yolanda were very proffessional, very helpful, great customer service, n you could just tell they both loved what they did. They poured both there heart n soul into helping us. My niece n nephew were with us n my nephew was running around. Yolanda really hit it off with him. She took her time with him n didnt get mad at all. They were both so patient. My mom works near by and I have stopped by a few times after visiting her. I have to say that the items are priced very reasonably (found a cute container to hold items and some other small things) and I paid less than $5. It is fun to look around at everything they have. They have always had neat stuff and furniture, women's clothes and shoes, pictures not much on men's or kids clothes. I try to donate there because people from safe haven are referred there. That being said, Since they remodeled the prices have went up, which I don't understand? The quality of the merchandise hasn't' gone up, so what is different. You can't even tell they did a remodel, except a little nook is gone. I guess there is someone new doing the pricing that should be working at a consignment shop maybe. I can highly recommend Berry Good Buys in Fort Worth for their beautiful offering of clothing and reasonable prices. They also have sales very often on their already low priced merchandise. The people who came to pick up our donations were irritable and did not stay at my Mom's house very long, waiting for my brother to arrive. We had this scheduled for 3 weeks. I live 5 hours away. My Mother is in assisted living so there is no one living at the house. We are trying to get the house ready for sale.The driver was not happy about going out that day, because of the weather. At least , that is the impression I got. My brother showed up 3 minutes later than they had agreed, and the guy was gone. Then, he would not answer his phone. All he had to do was call my brother while he was waiting for my brother, which they said was about 5-10 minutes, and my brother would have told him that he was going to be less than 5 minutes late. We tried helping this charity. They refused to be kind or considerate to deal with. They are on a schedule, so don't mess with them. Some charitable attitude, huh? read more
