I found a great shirt here for Sunday service. Staff is affable and the store has a great mission. I'll be returning to this location.

Chattanooga Goodwill Outlet Store

It's the only one I have to compare to. I found the Chattanooga one fairly lacking. The space is small and only about a dozen bins of clothing are out. They are not full and you can shift through them fairly quickly. It was the same across the room in the household bins. There was one large box/bins of stuffed toys. I scored a few cool ones I'll profit off of like a Stief teddy bear. Didn't see any clothing that was worth picking up. I don't think I'd make the 2 hr drive here again. I satisfied my curiosity with it though, so not all was lost.

This outlet accepts all of the unwanted items from other Goodwill stores in the area as a "last resort" before they're recycled. It's in a large old warehouse or factory of sorts. After driving through the chain link fence and parking in the gravel, we entered to a room that was perhaps 40 by 50. People were rummaging through the clothing bins with such passion I surely thought there was gold at the bottom. They sell by the bag and it's very inexpensive. There was only a few bins of clothes and a few bins of toys. No housewares, furniture, or any other items. The inside has seen better days and was dark and rather off putting. We spent about 2 seconds in there and left. This place is great for people who have a very small budget and need clothing or children's toys and not so much the Millenial thrifter.

I have never felt so humiliated in a store as I did at this Goodwill location in East Ridge. This happened on 4/29/26 in late morning/early afternoon. My husband is in his 60s, a stroke survivor, and relies heavily on a cane. He has difficulty speaking and sometimes gets confused, so he needs a little extra time to communicate and understand. What happened here was the exact opposite of the patience and understanding anyone would expect from a charity that prides itself on being "inspired by compassion for the poor, sick, and disabled." A cashier named Helen told him the senior discount was 25%. My husband said that he had been told at a different location just a couple of weeks ago that it was 40%. Instead of showing an iota of empathy or patience, and try to help my husband understand, she repeatedly talked over him. He wasn't upset--he was trying to get his words out, which is already difficult for him. Her tone was incredibly loud and rude. Then, she volunteered to call the manager, Jeremiah, like she was bringing in back up. Which I suppose she was because he was no better--if anything, he was worse because he was the manager and should have tried to de-escalate Helen's irritation and the situation in general. Instead, just like his employee, he also talked over my husband repeatedly, didn't allow him to finish a sentence, and showed ZERO patience or empathy. To the point that my husband was reducing to asking, 'Can I please finish my sentence?' multiple times and was ignored while Jeremiah kept talking over him. It was impossible for my husband to communicate at all. We were calm the entire time. No threats or yelling. Not even any foul language. Yet instead of showing any understanding toward an elderly, disabled man who may have simply been confused, we felt completely attacked. When my husband tried one more time, "Can I please finish my sentence?" - We were then told that if we didn't leave, we would be escorted out. Imagine a disabled man in his 60s, barely able to walk with a cane being forcibly escorted out of a Goodwill of all places because he was misinformed on the senior discount! The entire exchange, from start to finish, lasted only a few minutes. We left quietly--but the experience was deeply upsetting and humiliating. No one deserves to be treated this way. This was not just poor customer service--it was openly rude, dismissive, and lacking in basic human decency. What makes this even more troubling is that this experience is completely at odds with Goodwill's stated mission to support individuals facing barriers to independence. Again - If this is how employees are trained to treat disabled customers in their stores, how are vulnerable individuals treated behind the scenes when they come to Goodwill for help?

It was clean for a thrift store and the employees where quite nice. There just wasn't enough to browse through. They had a lot of t-shirts, which isn't a good quality in a thrift store. Overall, I probably won't be back, but was impressed by how nice the employees were!

A NEW GROCERY OPTION!…read more While driving around Tennessee and the Northwestern part of Georgia, we continued to see signs for Dollar Genera Market Store. The market part really threw me off and I was curious to know more. We stopped at this particular location and realized that this is an expanded Dollar Store that sells groceries. Now, don't get crazy because while they do carry produce and some staple food items, this is still Dollar Store quality. For example, there is no natural peanut butter here, I mean just peanuts and a touch of salt. My favorite item to purchase is the 100% apple juice that comes in the single serve glass bottles. These are perfect for the cooler but were not available at this location. You can actually purchase party supplies, cards, personal care items, cleaning items and clothing here. Although I like the convenience of a Dollar Store, (especially when traveling), the idea of a market just didn't quite convince me. I could not imagine choosing this store over a major grocery chain, (directly across the street). Perhaps the prices are much better on same item sales, I wouldn't know because they seem to carry more junk food than actual groceries. I think that this market is a great asset for under served areas but just cannot compete with major chains when it comes to quality and variety.
