They take those items and set up two building to help those in need. From homeless people to families finding it hard to clothe and feed themselves, they come and get help. Very easy process to come in and get registered then you have a schedule to come in for food and other clothing or household items like blankets. Food bank gets donations from everyone, individuals, churches, businesses and the same for the many volunteers who help here. Food bank is open Tuesday-Friday's. They have homeless boxes of food for those without the ability to cook. Then others get 17lb of food to start, plus other items like bread, milk, coffee, drinks when they have those items in stock. If you know of someone in the community who is struggling, let them know there are places to help. Very rewarding to come in and volunteer here or just stop in and donate your old coat, good socks, food.

There was a hutch/ dresser piece that was in pretty great shape. We purchased it an and they held it until today. They deliver for $20 (very reasonable) but we have a friend with a truck. The Electric Crocodile is THE best vintage store though - from clothing to games to decor to collectibles to keepsakes. This store is like a choose your own adventure through fabulousness. Mom and I stopped in last weekend, experiencing a fun, friendly staff and seeing so many deals on stylish clothes, potential home decor from past iconic eras, and just fun stuff. Some of what I saw - Garbage Pail Kids cards, Star Wars figurines, gems, 60's & 70's & 80's clothing pieces in great condition, and unique candlesticks and art. And an energetic cat is the unofficial store keeper. Can't wait to go back for a few hours soon to decide on what to purchase first!

I found CrocBuster purely through a fluke -- I asked Google for "dvd / video stores" near me (not expecting much of anything), but I was so pleasantly surprised -- This isn't a STORE, it's an EXPERIENCE! -- a virtual MAZE from one cool "fan-niche cubby hole" to another -- original Star Wars toys, all types of "retro kid stuff" that will bring back many a happy memory, as well as both new & used vinyl LPs, TONS of collectable VHS (Disney clamshells, etc.) and all kinds of tchotchkes and gewgaws you didn't even know existed. (The video online really doesn't do it justice -- you just have to experience it.) I had some old DVDs & VHS tapes in my car that I was hoping to unload (again, not expecting much), only to be so pleasantly surprised. The manager, Paul, turned my two boxes around in a hurry while I shopped. (Both Paul and his wife Michelle and all of the staff were very, very welcoming and helpful in a most genuine way. Michelle gave me a tour of their massive store.) I ended up using my $60 of credit (and then some!) ** Oh, prices are very reasonable, btw. Will definitely be back in the near future. The lady at the counter called "Welcome to Pop's and Granny's" in the most cheerful voice to every customer. After spending hours digging through five or six thrift stores in Hixson and coming up mostly empty handed, I was delighted find a small rack packed with exactly what I needed - men's long sleeved dress shirts in a variety of colors. As I started making a pile of them for a school play, the lady brought me a buggy. The sweet cashier even gave me a discount for buying 18 of them. Pop's and Granny's Saved the Day and the Play! I wish my photo of the store didn't turn out so blurry. I may drive back over there after the play to show the folks how they helped all the kids look good. :D
