Two dedicated parking spots. Helpers come out with big rolling bins to help unload. Always quick and painless.

You've got to love Goodwill. I live near Midway Airport but decided to take a weekend stroll up to…read moreEvanston, and this was one of my stops. I'll be honest -- I was pleasantly surprised to visit, but not necessarily because of the items. When the store first opened that morning, it was already pretty messy. Compared to other Goodwill locations I've visited, this one felt much less organized. The store itself was clean, but the racks were chaotic. Clothes were hanging off the racks or scattered, and several employees walked past without straightening things up, which was a little frustrating. I'm used to Goodwills having neat aisles where you can browse comfortably, and this one just didn't have that same level of organization. That said, I do want to give credit where it's due. One employee who stood out was Yareli, the cashier. I wanted to buy an item that required an electrical component, and she was kind enough to go through the electrical section to see if she could find the piece I needed. She couldn't locate it, but when I mentioned that I had the part in my car, she kindly allowed me to step outside and retrieve the piece I needed and ahe held the item at the front. I went out to my car, got the adaptor and came back and tested it, and the light worked perfectly. That small act of kindness really made the experience better. To Yareli's manager: that's exactly how an employee wins over customers -- through patience, kindness, and genuine helpfulness. Prices are a little higher at thia location, but still competitive.

I do like this Goodwill, today I actually talked to a manager about a bad trend that's becoming…read moremore common. When they bring a new cart, the same people everyday who hang out waiting for the carts push their way in, grab items, throw it in their carts and later put them back. They literally push people out of the way, it's rude and greedy. Manager said they are aware of the practice and it's within their right to be the first, and return things they don't want. If it happens to me I should report it. Nope, they should stop this kind of behavior, it shouldn't be acceptable behavior to a store with a cause to help people, and just as importantly it can result in a very bad outcome if someone responds violently, don't wait till happens, stop it now, nor should Goodwill become a hangout for these people, who are not shopping otherwise. You must have rules for safety of your customers.

I stop by on Sunday late afternoons on my way home and it's as fast as hitting one extra red light. One block off touhy, you simply pull up and there's an overhang to protect from sun or rain. There are two lanes so I've rarely had to wait. When I pull up, immediately an employee comes out wheeling a cart and helps load my things into it. Then I'm on my way again. I've never had donations be this easy. I'm finally taking the time to write this review because as I was dropping off my mom's things last night, I accidentally kept my Irish cap and scarf on the donation bag and realized when I got home! Ack! They had sentimental value and I hadn't meant to donate them. I was concerned this would be circus getting them back. But I called immediately, spoke with an extremely diligent and gracious manager who found them within minutes (he said it helped that I called immediately). He said it happens all the time and he is just so grateful for people donating things and wants them tog et their things back in these situations. I drove back and retrieving my items was quite simple. Highly recommend if you're looking for somewhere to donate

There are a lot of great things you can find here if you are looking for something that you can't find somewhere else or use clothing that you'd rather recycle or up cycle because you don't believe in wasting resources in buying new items as I do. Thank you for reading and hopefully we will recycle an up cycle continuously. Oh, and there's also a snack and vending machine for drinks and chips.

Employees regularly talk badly about customers to each other within earshot, with particular disdain directed at resellers. What's most disturbing is that this is clearly not an isolated incident. The same negative conduct happens repeatedly--employees loudly complaining about how much they hate their jobs, mocking customers, and treating people with obvious contempt. It creates an uncomfortable, toxic environment that makes customers feel unwelcome and disrespected. This level of behavior reflects a deeper cultural issue, not a bad day. Management has either failed to address it or is choosing to ignore it. Until there is accountability and a complete reset of customer service standards, I strongly advise others to shop elsewhere. If I could give this place negative stars I would.
