I was primarily looking for fabric, and I unfortunately didn't find a ton of options to repurpose in the bedding and linens area. However, they have several racks of women's clothing to look through with shoes of several sizes organized above the racks. I even saw someone score a pair of new Vejas sneakers the day I went. I didn't have a ton of time to look through everything, but the store is much bigger on the inside than it looks from the street. I went on an extremely busy morning (I believe it may have been a senior citizen sale? I just got the tail end of an announcement over the intercom), but I had no trouble at all finding a solid parking spot just outside the main entrance in a generous private lot. The street is pretty busy, so I would be careful to turn at the light if you're taking a left into the store. There are tons of different clothing brands, from boutique to well-known names and more fast fashion tags. There was even a whole section of home goods I didn't get a chance to explore. My one difficulty was navigating the long racks of clothing. It was difficult to get from one end to another given the sheer amount of foot traffic, but I'm sure it may be different on a less busy day.

I stop by on Sunday late afternoons on my way home and it's as fast as hitting one extra red light. One block off touhy, you simply pull up and there's an overhang to protect from sun or rain. There are two lanes so I've rarely had to wait. When I pull up, immediately an employee comes out wheeling a cart and helps load my things into it. Then I'm on my way again. I've never had donations be this easy. I'm finally taking the time to write this review because as I was dropping off my mom's things last night, I accidentally kept my Irish cap and scarf on the donation bag and realized when I got home! Ack! They had sentimental value and I hadn't meant to donate them. I was concerned this would be circus getting them back. But I called immediately, spoke with an extremely diligent and gracious manager who found them within minutes (he said it helped that I called immediately). He said it happens all the time and he is just so grateful for people donating things and wants them tog et their things back in these situations. I drove back and retrieving my items was quite simple. Highly recommend if you're looking for somewhere to donate

I just placed my first small order at GiveNKind for holiday cards to send to Board members of our…read morenon-profit organization, and I am happy with my order. I received 80 cards for $10 and cannot wait to write on them. Each card is packed in its own plastic sleeve and some are really cute and festive pop-up cards. They are really good quality paper too. I did have to pull several cards that seemed odd or inappropriate but otherwise it was a great deal. It's a little far from my service area to drive to their site in Buffalo Grove, but I look forward to more orders in the future. Note that they only ship on orders of $300 and up. It is not a place for personal use but if you work for or own a 501(c) 3 organization, check this place out for sure. The application process was easy. The staff is also super friendly, helpful and customer service focused. They are helping many non-profits, keeping volunteers active, and keeping items out of our landfills too.

Operation basement makeover kicks off tomorrow, but first I had to get rid of all of our current…read morefurniture occupying our basement. Over the past few weeks I made a list of local organizations that would find good homes for our furniture & remove the furniture from the basement themselves. After reading about the Chicago Chesed Fund I was sold...and even more thrilled when (on a Monday) they told me they could pick up my furniture that Friday. In comparison another local organization told me they were booked until end of July. That didn't help me since all my new furniture would be in by then. I was given a 2 hour window for pick up (12-2pm) and they arrived exactly at noon. Impressed! The driver, Michael, could not have been friendlier. By the time he left my house I was even more knowledgeable about the Chicago Chesed Fund and started thinking about other clothing, furniture, baby equipment and/or even my time that I could give to help. For others interested in donating they only take goods that are in good condition & nothing older than 25 years old. And they won't take sleeper sofas, but there were no issues removing a sectional, entertainment center, nightstands etc from my basement. In fact, they did so in record time. While I called around a bunch of organizations this past week, Chicago Chesed Fund will be the first call I make for donations going forward.

The staff here is always super friendly and great at helping new volunteers with understanding their roles and how to perform their jobs. If going with a group from work, this is a great way to meet others and socialize, while doing your volunteer job.

I will not return due to the arrogance and microaggressions of the employees. I know my high end designer brands. I own high end designer brands. I do not always go shopping dressed to the nines. Esp to a consignment store sidewalk sale. An employee rolled her eyes when I asked her about the pricing on one of the items. No need for the attitude. While my daughter was waiting to check out, another employee approached a woman standing behind her to take her to a register. That customer asked my daughter if she wanted to go with the employee. That was classy and kind. The employee actually stammered and point my daughter to a register and proceeded to walk the customer to personally ring her up. Needless to say, we will never come back. There are better resale stores on the North Shore: across the street is the YWCA resale, KMK Luxury in Winnetka, Junior League in Evanston, New to You in Glenview, Winnetka Thrift Shop are just a few. Everyone at all those stores are respectful and kind.
