Visited Sharing and Caring for the first time on 01 April, 2026. This was a great experience!…read more Driving in there is good available parking with handicapped spaces. The building is a large single floor building with push doors. The store was buzzing with volunteers organizing donated items. This large thrift store was extremely well organized and the premise was clean and neat. Donations included: clothing, houseware, shoes, artwork, jewelry and so on. Donations were in good condition and clean. The aisles were wide and clear-making them easily accessible to anyone with a cane or wheelchair . The store is one level--no steps or ramps to navigate. On this day, a sign on the door promoted 1/2 off. They don't do this all the time so watch for signs. I purchased a lovely print that I am very happy with. The volunteers that I spoke with were helpful in answering questions and assistance. All proceeds stay in the community supporting local services. There was a chart behind the register showing the percentage of proceeds going back to the community which was impressive. Check for hours of operation (they closed at 2:00 today). Cash is appreciated. Personally, shopping at places like this is fulfilling in so many ways. I find a bargain, save something from a landfill, and support local services and economy. Win-win.

I was at the shelter many times bringing donated food and visiting with staff and residents and I also was a volunteer. I was an RN for 40 years and I have never witnessed staff with such genuine caring, generosity and true Christian hearts. Jennifer Bero, Executive Director and her support staff and Rena Idleburg, Shelter Manager and her staff bend over backwards to accommodate the needs of the residents, extend their time at the shelter if needed, provide Advocates and Bible study classes and anything that is needed for these lovely young ladies and their children to become independent in their lives and have God's Grace wherever they go. Despite all the challenges working with the homeless can bring, this staff always meets it with professionalism, calm and kindness. If you want a worthy non-profit to support this is the one!

One of my friends made a post a few months back about this group needing volunteers to help assist…read morewith building doggie enclosures, so I jumped at the chance to help. This Non-Profit helps dogs that are chained up, by giving them a spacious enclosure and getting them "off the chain". They are non-judgmental with the owners, only looking to better the welfare of the dogs. They have a FB volunteer page where you can sign up to assist with the builds. All their build supplies come from donations or from buying their shirts/hats. The build staff is wonderful, and you don't need to know anything about putting up fences to help jump in. Most builds take about 1-2 hours and are closer to the Athens area of town. Each build consists of making a spacious fenced-in enclosure, with one area designated for sleeping (it also has a canopy for when it rains and area for shade). A water bucket is provided, igloo home, dog cot, food and toys for the doggie. I had the opportunity to do 2 builds thus far and volunteer helping run a table at a one of their events. You get the hang of it after one build, and you meet some wonderful people in the process. Also, the dogs seem so much happier once they get into their area and can run around freely. If you're looking for a way to give back and love dogs, this is the perfect opportunity! Most builds happen 1-2 times per month, and typically 9am-12pm Saturday or Sunday AM. This entire organization is "Off the Chain"!

Buyer beware. Don't purchase items online!…read more Found a cabinet that fit our office needs and had a "gut" feeling I needed to see it before I purchased it Online. When I drove 1 hour to see the "in stock" item, mysteriously, it wasn't there And they weren't sure if they actually had it in a warehouse or not. They were quick to encourage me to go look at their "New" furniture line downstairs. They took my phone number and promised to call me once they were able to search their offsite warehouse for the cabinet, No call... but I see they remove about 20 cabinets from their online website In the last two days. They reminded me of a used cars salesman with the old bate and switch To get you into their store and buy something more expensive. Recommend if you find something you really want, go into the store, don't buy on line with this company. They'll be glad to take your money, not sure they can deliver what you ordered.

PLUMBING SUPPLY STORES AREN'T WHAT THEY USED TO BE!…read more Yes, plumbing stores are very different today and sometimes that is not a good thing. I appreciate stores trying to offer a one-stop shopping experience but sometimes they simply muddy the waters. Here, you will find tubs, showers, kitchen appliances, lighting and faucets. I decided to visit this store in an effort to locate a tub filler for a Roman style tub. It needed to have a higher flow rate than standard fillers found locally. I was really expecting a generous line of faucets but found that their inventory was actually very limited. The one faucet that we liked did not come in our desired finish and that was disappointing. I like a simple, clean aesthetic and place function ahead of design. I found much of their selection was a bit fussy for my taste. If you also happen to be looking for lighting options, this store has a great selection of various types of lights for the kitchen and bath and the prices were approachable. This is a nice store for getting inspiration and browsing. Everything is nicely staged and the ladies are available to assist you as needed. ***This store is located along the upper end of 400, just south of the outlets. If you are traveling north from Alpharetta, the store will be on your right just past the pink panthers sculpture.
