However, these people are choosing who they want to help. Shame on you. First, I need help with my utilities and food. Arrived there around 8:45am. About 8:55 this unfriendly older white man. Yell out the door no good morning or anything. Stated you don't have to waited in lines go and get into your car because we will open in 45 mins. WOW!! I understand it was very cold outside but your body language speaks volumes and I already know that he was a very rude unfriendly old man. They open the door around 9:35 which was awesome. The same unfriendly older man. Started stating the new rules for the 2025 cooperative ministry and how he loves being a volunteer over the past years and that they are low on funds helping families in need. Secondly, the rules was not explained in good understanding terms. They just keep asking do you have any questions. The reality were mostly for new clients or clients who have use the food pantry 5 months or more. Please Beware!!!! The new rules 2025 is that for 5 months you will need to use their food pantry once a month or now twice. If you have used their food pantry for 5 months or more then if they have the funds to help with rent and/or utilities you can get help stated by Ms.Becky. My story like I said at the beginning, I needed help with my utilities and food due to temporary loss of wages. Because I used this ministry back in 2017 (Yes) 2017)for rent assistance 8 years ago. The smart ash old white man and Ms.Becky stated they could not help me with the electric bill and ask me did I still need help with food. I stated NO. Why would I need so called good frozen food if there is no electricity. Another real issue the Unfriendly old man started to throw my application in a trash bin and not a shredder. So, I told him to please hand me my application to shred it the correct way. Just awful and sad.

It was a long experience and some issues i had but (not a problem by them ) . I definitely recommend this place if your in need of some form of assistance they offer rental, utility , food and clothing help , which i know a lot of people can use a helping hand some time i took some good pictures and i can honestly say it was worth the wait i arrived around 10:15am an left at 3pm yes i know that was a long time but they open at 9:30am it was already crowded by 10am so keep that in mind . I also wanna get a chance sometime next week to donate some thing that i have that i know others can use because they also take donations i have a lot of baby stuff i know some mother could possibly use and would love to donate it . I was an RN for 40 years and I have never witnessed staff with such genuine caring, generosity and true Christian hearts. Jennifer Bero, Executive Director and her support staff and Rena Idleburg, Shelter Manager and her staff bend over backwards to accommodate the needs of the residents, extend their time at the shelter if needed, provide Advocates and Bible study classes and anything that is needed for these lovely young ladies and their children to become independent in their lives and have God's Grace wherever they go. Despite all the challenges working with the homeless can bring, this staff always meets it with professionalism, calm and kindness. If you want a worthy non-profit to support this is the one!

This place is misrepresenting itself to applicants, recipients, sponsors, the public and media as a…read moretraining facility for service dogs! This org has changed drastically from the original concepts and methodology. At one time, CA was a reputable and wonderful organization. Many dogs were appropriately trained with fosters for their early puppy years and then trained/taught tasks associated with the needs of future recipients with different disabilities, e.g. diabetes alert dogs, epileptic alert dogs, wheelchair bound children and adults, and therapy dogs. CA has morphed into an ideology that recipients should [bond, love, and give the dog choices] without asking or commanding or giving cues to do 'anything!'. CA thinks giving commands is abusing the dog. My daughter received a dog very recently; she has a neuromuscular disease and is wheelchair bound. The "match" process of recipient to dog is a just a toss up. The dog was brought home without any training or teaching of tasks my daughter needs even though CA knew the tasks a service dog would need to know to be able to help her through a day beyond the love and bond. The dog was clueless what sit even meant. This "retriever" didn't retrieve ANYTHING. This is the main task needed for someone that drops things all the time. The dog was a nervous wreck just hearing the garage door open, a lawn mower start, a car door close, a leaf blower, the vacuum, and the necessary lift we have to bring her up the steps! And van lift! This dog should have been desensitized to noise trained! This place is misrepresenting itself to applicants, recipients, sponsors, the public and media. Go ahead, ask a dog to sit, lay down, fetch. They are saying just "bond and love" the dog and it will do what you want. BS all the love and bonding in the world will not teach a dog how to sit, turn on lights, close doors, retrieve and bring back. Plus they are giving older dogs that are older! I am one pissed mother for all the hurt and pain they have caused my daughter and our family trying to give this dog and others to recipients, (even if there is no cost to them) that cannot remotely meet the standards of a TRUE SERVICE DOG. The dog was taken abruptly and is back at CA probably will be re-homed. IT IS NOT the dog's fault. Investigations are fruitless and everyone there circle around in secrecy of what is happening labeling recipients that return dogs as ungrateful. There is no accountability or admission and because of many success stories in the past, and the love recipients develop for any dog they receive, people are not willing to talk. Volunteers and employees think they are doing good and most of them are kept from the truth as well. The ones that know leave. I have tried to write a review on google reviews on CA only to find it does not appear. I can see it, but no one else can. I wonder why.

'TIS THE SEASON...(VOLUNTEERING)…read more Commonly known as CRN, this non-profit provides services to homeless women and children. Today I had the pleasure of volunteering to sort and package donated food items for Thanksgiving dinners. A great number of people came out and business was handled in a timely and efficient manner. The warehouse was packed with large groups such as boy scouts, sororities, corporate groups and others. I chose to volunteer with my young neighbor so we were a team of two. There was a lot of great energy in the space and people were genuinely kind and helpful. Not only did I have a great time helping others, I just enjoyed being able to spend time with my neighbor and catch up with her busy middle school life. She on the other hand, was able to get some additional community hours for Beta Club so we knocked out several birds with one stone. CRN has a variety of volunteer needs through-out the year and is always looking for additional support and assistance. I know that they will be needing assistance with donating, collecting and delivering toys for Christmas. They will also need volunteers to wrap gifts so if you have a group of friends or willing family members who are looking to "give back" please contact CRN regarding specific opportunities. .

It's a really good way for us to work together, to give back to the community. All of the proceeds go to places that are in need, within the community. After the exam, I was told straight up that my dog didn't need dental cleaning, so I could not book the service. I decided to purchase heartworm preventatives using their online pharmacy, but after EIGHT attempts in a month to get the medication, the order was rejected EVERY SINGLE TIME by their veterinarian. Each time the reason was that there was a prescription on file already so they could not approve an order request, but there WAS no prescription on file to begin with. All I can assume is that Pawproject wants my dog to get heartworm infection and die. I hate Pawproject and will report them to the Georgia Board of Veterinary Medicine. Don't go there.
