I enjoy shopping here, because this is where I'll find local beach styles. There was a dress I purchased from a local company called, Title Nine. A woman owned business that focuses on outdoor clothing. I have fun browsing the aisles. A bonus is they have changing rooms. In the Bay Area, many of the thrift stores are starting to eliminate dressing rooms. So being able to try on the clothes is a treat. There are not any public bathrooms. Best bet is to go across the street to the outdoor supply hardware store. Parking lot is a tad odd. The kind you can only go one way in and out. You can always park in the next lot over if you can't find anything. It's something I look forward to, when shopping here. You never know what you'll find? Happy shopping. read more

I saw the 2.5 stars but gave this goodwill a shot since they were nearby. From my experience, I'd definitely give them 4 stars! Rarely do thrift stores organize clothing by size which is very much appreciated. It saves so much time and energy as a shopper! I never leave reviews on Yelp, but can I just say that I'm a regular at this Goodwill, and the manager is really a jerk some times? This is over a period of two years of consistent exposure. I don't hear him speaking kindly to his staff, and then he just treats you like he hates you when he's having to deal with you. He has a very antisocial air about him, and it makes me very, very uncomfortable. He always has I bought a piece of furniture, put it on hold, clearly labeled for pickup the next day, and then he just sold it the next day. I had already paid. He didn't call me. I had to ask for my money back, and he acted completely put off that he was having to give me money back for .... no item. The workers here are amazing, but I am going to find another Goodwill. Capitola Goodwill is amazing! I have found high end clothing for a fraction of the price. I have a wedding to attend in March and I just happened to find the perfect dress there for the event. For 13.00 this dress would normally sell at Nordstrom for 200.00. Score!!! read more

In our traveling, we visit a lot of Goodwills. I don't think we've ever reviewed one. Unfortunately, it's a poor experience that lead me to this review. First, the prices are incredibly high at this location. One could argue everything in this area is higher; however, I doubt the wages are. In these high cost of living areas, it's even more important for places like Goodwill to keep their prices low. Second, the store itself was not nearly as organized I would've hoped. Quick example- there were bags located in different parts of the store- not all together. Thirdly, and the straw that lead to the review, I have never gone into a Goodwill where the bathrooms were just closed. I have been where you have to ask for a key. I have been where they were open. I have even been where they have been closed for repair. However, we watched employees unlock and use the restroom themselves. Which means that the bathrooms were closed even though they had enough employees working to assist with the restrooms and/or clean them. It's laziness on the part of any store where customers spend a large amount of time with children in there. If you lose the customers with children, you've lost a large part of your business. Had it been just disarray in the store- okay, we can manage. Then you add exorbitant pricing, we can pick and choose. But then, on top of that, the kids can't even use the restroom? This is a pretty spacious location! The clothing selection claimed the biggest area; as usual, women's clothing seemed to have the best selection. I appreciate it when thrift stores organize clothes by size AND color (not always the case); this Goodwill didn't disappoint. Housewares, Knick-knacks, furniture, and the like were so-so when I visited, but I might have visited on an "off" day or time; I'll have to visit again to get a better idea of their overall offerings. I scored 2 tops and 2 pairs of shorts for under $20 - all in great condition - one item even had the original tags on. Overall, this spot was well organized and fairly clean. I came in for the first time today, and I found two pairs of luxury brand jeans, for 13 dollars each! Ok, 13 dollars is a little pricey when you have a budget, but I found a authentic pair of diesels and a pair of Joe's, though most of their shirts were a little old lady, I found a couple of cool pieces. I do recommend, though the location is a little sketchy, it's probably the best goodwill in the county? Though, the Abbot's and the Scotts Valley goodwill are close seconds. The person who was at one of the registers, who helped me, was nice and I was able to connect with them, and they talked me off the ledge of buying some uggs that had seen better days. Found an awesome console for the tv- the nice gentleman helped load into my truck- very wonderful and helpful.

This Goodwill has remodeled and expanded. It now has a ridiculously expensive boutique. I do like that it is bigger but most things are more expensive. I can get brand new tops at Ross for less money. The boutique has items they deem worthy of higher prices even though they are no longer fashionable. They do have a good selection of seasonal holiday items. read more

Normally I love wasting sometime putzing around and looking at things. Not today. Picked up a few fun things. Found this beautiful bowl that was marked $2.99. Sweet! Go to check out with all my treasures and the cashier says that the bowl isn't $2.99 that it must have been miss marked and would be $5.99-10.99. Uhm, the sticker is pretty solid and doesn't look like it's been removed and reapplied. She says sorry you can't have it for $2.99. That she does the pricing and she would know. Fine then keep it and it will be a long time before I come back. read more

This is probably the best goodwill in terms of selection in this area. Still, it suffers from the same issues as all the stores do. Dont expect anything as far as customer service goes, and be prepared to find a lot of low quality clothes for some pretty steep prices. Pretty rundown inside. I get that its a thrift shop, but the whole place was pretty dirty and I can't imagine how it opened like this. Prices were pretty high also. The only nice thing was the guy at the cash register was nice, but one of the gals back by the glass area was pretty rude. Parking is pretty tight and you have to be careful you don't get backed into by another car. There was a homeless guy laying on the curbing who looked sick. No one paid him any attention. COVID REVIEW: This store is a large location but not very well organized. There is a donation center and store all in one. Didn't have a lot of selection in my opinion but not bad at all. Larger store so more employees and they even have a backpack measurement in the front and a locker in case your backpack is too big to be in store. There was nobody in the front to clean the carts or basket and I did not see them sanitize after every customer so be aware. read more

This is my favorite goodwill by far! I'm in here at least once a week and NEVER leave empty handed. Where to start? The shoe section .... rocks my socks! So many high end ($200+) boots and tons of vans, adidas, converse, you know- shoes you'd actually wear. Jeans.... geezus The JEANS. It's a sea of NOT-mom jeans and all in "wearable" sizes (not just 0s or plus plus sizes). And if you are dress shopping expect to be there for half the day. I'm serious. The entire length of the add on (lower room) is one solid wall of dresses. End to end. Your arms WILL be sore from flipping through them. I can't even get into the goodies in the non-clothing area. That has to have its own review. I'm just sayin this is not our run of the mill/Halloween costume/wanna-be sh_tty vintage/ pee-scented goodwill. Even the dressing rooms are clean - and they LOCK! And the bathrooms... ohhh I miss the bathrooms. They are new and spotless (before Covid shut them down). The employees don't suck either. They are ALL helpful and pleasant - I see them go out of their way to assist people on a regular basis- like genuinely trying to help.) And their goofy must- be-mandatory "welcome" greeting doesn't even feel too awkward. Always go through Tosh's line if he's there. He'll have you convinced that that purple spandex jumpsuit was MADE for you. And give you four different uses for that mini muffin pan you're on the fence about. Only complaint: I wish they stayed open later. Oh, And bathrooms bathrooms bathrooms! Having to abandon a cart full of treasures cuz nature calls really really sucks. read more

Goodwill on crack. This place is a joke, they massively expanded the store and raised prices on their (mostly) junk items. Who prices this stuff?? I've been there more than once so this isn't a "bad day" review. The new model for Goodwill (not just the 41st ave one) is to be a Dollar Store (read: new, crap Chinese items) with some overpriced, heavily used "thrift" items. It's not going to work. The worst-best part is the "boutique section" down below where No One was. I found a replica Kyle Korver jersey (An NBA nobody) with the letters peeling off for like $15.99. I love Goodwill but I thought this store was on the disappointing side. Stuff was quite messy and the clothing didn't seem that great. I saw way too many ratty tshirts for my liking. Most Goodwills do a better job of curating their clothing selection. They did have a lot of sewing patterns and sewing supplies to my amusement. Books were haphazardly placed. read more

This was my first time at this Goodwill, and it exceeded any expectations I had. I found some interesting items, and the staff was incredibly helpful. I purchased a mirror and some electronics. I asked the cashier if it would be okay for me to test the electronics on an outlet they had, and they said yes. I tested them; they worked, and an employee even helped me load them into my car. It was all under $50, so I'll definitely be coming here at least once every two months now. read more

This is the 41st street edition of the goodwill industry chain which has recently expanded more then doubling the retail space available. There is an a associated parking lot which always seems to have a spot open somewhere. It is one of those small one way cramped lots filled with confused parking lot drivers though, so look out. As far as the store itself, it's huge and filled with all the random junk/wonder that any goodwill has. Due to the expansion they've created a small better then usual fashion section (down to the right when you enter, mind the step) which has both brand names and less worn stuff. That section does cost more, but this is still a goodwill so nothing is really expensive. The expansion also means that there is more space for kitchen/household gear and well everything really. This is an especially great spot for Halloween costuming. I do note that some of the older reviews are a location that no longer exists, and was merged with this one for some reason. When it's all said and done this is a decent thrift store to get your bargain shopping done in with the occasional gem tucked in with all the stuff someone else wanted to throw away. read more

Buyer beware make sure you are completely happy with any purchases from this store, cause there ain't no returns weather u left the store or not. And my goodness just because they don't pay a penny for anything they have for sale in the whole store, don't think they'll be passing them savings on to you. Cause that's not happening... Ok I'm a Goodwill addict. I've definitely been a thrifter my whole life. As far as Goodwill's go this one isn't bad. The prices are kinda high compared to other locations but there's usually a pretty good find if you look hard enough. The employees at this location are all very friendly. Especially Tosh who is very helpful and always seems to be working really hard to make sure customers are happy. Highly recommend checking this store out. I saw a fishing pole, no reel, $80.00. Ya see, there's this new thing called the internet. On this "internet" you can find things to purchase. Virtual stores with names like "Amazon" as well as virtual stores for actual stores, like Target. Crazy right! It gets better! At these virtual stores you can buy items that are brand new, as in no one has owned them before you. And here's the real kicker, they actually cost less than the same item at this not so Goodwill location. Don't waste you time, energy, or money at this place. read more

Way too overpriced. Sad that the items that don't get purchased because they are too expensive will end up in the landfill.

I made a big purchase here. But when I got home I realized the time and effort I'd have to put in to restore the item was not worth it. When I called to ask about a refund the employee that answered was cold and told me "all sales are final." I told her I was not made aware of this policy to which she said "it's posted at the registers." When I was finally able to talk to a manager. (Had to call corporate for that since the employee would not allow me to speak to one). She was very sweet and said I could do a one time refund for store credit and that all the registers have the final sale policy. I politely said thank you and that I must have not seen it as I was in a hurry, while today I went in for my exchange and low and behold there is not a sign at ALL the registers which is against California civil code and section 1723 states that a store must refund the customer within 30 days if they do not have clear signs of the no return policy. I have been trying to get a hold of corporate to get a refund but have had little luck. I did file a complaint to California. But I'm sure that will take a long time. read more

So I found a pair of Men's Lucky Brand button fly jeans, they fit and I wanted to buy them. I took them to the counter and they checked in back and they should've been marked $26...and that was the price. First, I've never seen a pair of jeans there for that price. I was told by the manager that"oh yeah that's where they start, especially with the girls buying them all the time." I went back the next couple days and found Lucky Brand jeans in both the men's and women's marked $9.99!! I saw a pair of jeans that I used to show the Manager the price on the rack, still $9.99! But, the ones I originally wanted never showed up at ANY price. I think someone in back just wanted them, priced them so I would turn them down and took them for themselves. Cheats! Can you say PRICE GOUGERS? This Goodwill is unreasonably priced. I would rather buy a brand new top at Ross for $6.99 versus spending $7.99 on a used top. Not to mention, that Goodwill used top will have stains and smell like body odor. I have seen a dress in here for $99, and it makes me think...the NERVE!
