This was my first time in this Goodwill and I didn't have anything in particular I was looking for. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was that it smelled clean and fresh. That is the first time I've ever experienced that in a Goodwill. This location is larger than most I've been to. The staff were pretty friendly. The dressing rooms were blocked off with carts and signs. I asked an employee if it was available to use. She stated I could use one of the first rooms. So I'm not sure why it was ALL blocked off. Great first time visit on a Sunday afternoon. The store was kind of busy but I had no issues parking. The inside of the store was pretty organized. I found the inventory to be slightly limited. I did find some nice pieces and some cute booties. I got three items for $18 plus tax. One of my clothing items was 50% off so that was unexpectedly awesome! Super rude workers. Most will ignore you when you speak to them, especially on the outlet side. I have enjoyed my shopping trips here but it's sad to see people be so cold. Goodwill must not train or treat their employees right because they seem very unhappy compared to other locations I frequent. read more

This is a very organized Goodwill store. As you walk into the store, the shoes are organized in the Boutique section. The clothes are organized in sections. I showed up twenty minutes before closing to donate 1 box of household items. There was a man inside in his phone not paying attention. I walked around to the other doors. For the donation center and he still did not raise his head from his phone. I went back to the donation doors and waited again. At 6:54, he came walking through the parking after leaving out some sort of back door. He looked at me and said that they were closed so I would have to come back on another day. I mentioned that it wasn't even 7:00 yet, but he simply said," yeah, we're closed". I went to another donation center who was happy to receive the items. I've always been told that Goodwill was an "expensive" secondhand store, that's why I never shopped here until this past week. I attended a lunch & learn here then decided to take a look around since I learned a lot of good thrifting tips. This store doesn't look too big on the outside, but once I came inside it was huge! As part of the lunch and learn, I got to look at the warehouse portion of the store too. It was huge! There were so many items back there! When I got to the store portion, I tried on some Athleta leggings and lots of cute dresses. I ended up buying two dresses for only $6.99 each! I love both of them! Most of their items are at a set price for all items no matter what brand the item was. Like $6.99 for all dresses. Some high end items might have been priced higher though, but not by more than a few dollars! Hi I recently visit the bins often. After conversations with several familiar customers I just felt the need to make things aware to others. Long story short as a retailer the best time to get the best shoes are after 3pm. The worker tends to load the table with the best shoes you can think of. Especially for this particular customer and her husband. Be ready to literally grab when the worker pushes the table out. Because it's specifically for them to get it's so obvious. Throughout the day yes shoes comes out but the best untorn, name brand etc all of a sudden comes out. And these particular customer has 2 carts filled. How is that possible? Another thing that's noticeable is how this worker half rechange the items such as clothes, shoes, and books. Is it certain days when that is allowed? Because I thought everything should should be freshly rotated. Not half done. Other than these things it's an okay place to shop read more

Main store is the best part; selection was minimal though. It is otherwise very neat and one of the cleanest good wills I've been to. Outlet portion though was super disappointing (hardly anything there) and the environment was slightly depressing. read more

Went to this location and my kids picked out a large stuffed animal. When we went to check out there was no tag and they told me they had to keep it and couldn't it sell it to me. My kids were really sad and we went home empty handed. Shame on the managers at this location. read more

Compared to the Goodwills in Athens & Madison, this one is great. I found a good bit of stuff & could've left with even more.

Disappointed. For such a large space, little to no product to shop.The items (clothes) they had were well color coordinated organized well. As most thrift store have "that smell". If you like thrift stores, this is one of the best in Birmingham. They have a wide selection of clothes, furniture, and other items. The staff is friendly and helpful. Also, some days they will have specials and you can get things super cheap. My sons and their roommate were looking for furniture for their rental house. They are college students and with limited funds, this was the perfect place for them. They were able to get a Lazy Boy sofa that was in excellent condition, a recliner and a wooden desk with a chair for a few hundred dollars. read more

Good hidden gems! Found a few name-brand items. And there were a lot of sale items still with the colored tag sale.

Super easy to drop donations off with your car (just follow the signs to the drop-off area behind the building). Someone will be waiting there to assist you. I don't come here too often to browse, but when I do, I'm always impressed with their selection. They always seem to have home goods (furniture, towels, wall art) from Target! Be sure to look closely...you might just find a steal! read more

If you like things from target for cheap come here!! they must get in shipments from target. they have lots of cat and jack kids clothes from target and merona sweaters!! goods prices but it's the first time i've ever seen the sweaters be cheaper than dingy tshirts. kinda messy. good prices. lots of furniture and scrap booking stuff from target. read more

If you need some furniture, or home type things, I would say this is the thrift shop to hit up. Their back storage area goes on for days (you could get a good game of hide and seek going in there). So greatest strength is home type stuff, men's clothing is sparse. I don't really care about women's. They do have 3 or 4 fitting rooms with no locks. A bathroom for public, and some friendly people. I use to not care much for Goodwill, but I went the other day and it's much more clean and organized then it has ever been before.

On a thrifting run with the family we stopped by this Goodwill first. It's not the cream of the crop, but it's not a terrible spot either. It's dimly lit, the racks are closely packed, and the quality selections take some time to track down. Prices, however, are pretty good, and assigned to items by rack. If you go to the back left of the store and through the room there with kids' clothing, there's a larger, warehousey space with easy chairs, mattresses, dressers, other bigger furniture pieces and random paraphernalia. read more

Pretty good. I wish the more goodwill stores around Hoover or somewhere in AL not far away from Bessemer. This is a small store. They do have great things to but though. People are sweet here. Will be coming back! read more
