One of the employees called me names and followed up by threatening me with violence. I was there for the third time too see if my chainsaw had been serviced. The first two visits the promised that it would be taken care of right away. This time they said that the tag didn't mention what was wrong with it. The first time I visited they asked me to write my name and number on a tag. Nobody asked me to fill out the tag with the description of what was wrong. I simply told them that it was leaking gas. Second time I visited we also talked about that it was leaking gas, and they promised to get on it right away. I guess they were getting tired of me asking about the saw. For an employee to escalate personal frustrations to the point where the customer is called names and threatened with physical harm is not only unpleasant but illegal. The fact that it is illegal is probably why the business owner has chosen to deny everything with references to security cameras that only he has seen. Let's hope that changes are being made behind the scenes so that future customers won't be exposed to that kind of behavior.

It is sad when a reputable business grows old and has new management who do not have the same…read moreservice standards as the old hands. This is the case with Shaul's in Johnson City, NY. I have been a customer more than 30 years and I am disappointed with the service on a 10 week old electric stove I just bought from them when I called the store for help. Part of the stove door cracked and when I tried to explain the problem the manager cut me off and said to me "You broke it." But he has not even seen the broken stove. Then he went on to explain that the manufacturer, Whirlpool, would not cover the repair under warranty. But I didn't break it. It really is a manufacturing defect or a design defect in my opinion as a retired professional engineer who has evaluated many electrical equipment problems. The manager offered to send his service man at my cost, but I found out that they are not a certified service shop for Whirlpool. I smelled rotten fish at this point and called for Whirlpool service, who were responsive. My experience and opinion is that this store wants to charge for their service when its free from the manufacturer and they do not help the customer with legitimate warranty service. Shaul's blames the customer without even looking at the problem. Not good at all.

At that time, most mechanics were closing up for the day, and my only alternative was to get a tow to a tire shop and hope they could fit me in before they closed. Dennis came right out even though I was a bit far away from Conklin. Once he was there he had me fixed up with a new tire and ready to go in less than 15 minutes. Not only had we blown a tire, but we were concerned about a second tire on the same side and didn't feel safe towing our camper any farther. To make matters worse, we couldn't easily leave the campground to get help. After calling multiple tire companies and roadside services, we either got no answer, voicemail, or promises of callbacks that never came. Then we called Wilson's On Site Tire. What a difference. He answered the phone immediately, understood exactly what we needed, and was at our campsite in about an hour and a half. He came prepared, inspected the situation, and replaced both tires right there at our site. The price was extremely fair, especially considering the convenience, the urgency of our situation, and the fact that he came directly to us. What impressed us most was his professionalism and reliability. When you're stranded with a camper, every hour feels like a day. He did exactly what he said he would do, showed up when he said he would, and got us back on the road safely with zero drama. If you're in the Binghamton or Conklin area and need mobile tire service, especially if you're towing an RV, camper, trailer, or boat, don't waste time calling around. Call Wilson's first. Reliable, responsive, professional, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. He turned what could have been a trip-ending problem into a minor inconvenience, and for that we're incredibly grateful. The lady at the desk was very friendly and helpful and said they would call when repairs were completed. When called a week or so later, I picked up my cleaner and was told the problem was with the cord... that it had been fixed and a new filter had also been installed. The cost was around $200. I didn't have a problem with that, all things considered. When I got home and plugged the vacuum in, it ran for about five minutes, then quit, so I returned to A to Z to see what was going on. Left the machine for a second time, they called in a few days and said the problem had been resolved and that there would be no charge this time around. Picked up the cleaner, got home, plugged it in, and this time it ran for about a minute before it quit. I was so frustrated with this experience, I decided to just give up on them as a repair service. I did not take the cleaner back. They are great when it comes to selling a wonderful product, but repairs do not seem to be their specialty. After searching elsewhere for a repair service, I found none. This past week, the cleaner was disposed of as recyclable. What a shame. I am so disappointed with A to Z. I will not be a returning customer.
