I was really excited to check this place out after seeing their cocktail menu online, and in some…read moreways it definitely lived up to the hype. The drinks were excellent--well-balanced, creative, and clearly made with skill. There was also a live musician performing during my visit who was amazing and added a great atmosphere and really elevated the overall vibe. Service, however, was a mixed experience. One of the bartenders (a newer female bartender) was very friendly, attentive, and showed a lot of potential--she made a great impression despite seeming a bit new. Unfortunately, the other bartender completely brought the experience down. He came across as rude, disengaged, and honestly like he didn't want to be there at all. I understand it was a busy night, but there was very little sense of urgency from him, and wait times felt longer than they should have been--even factoring in the crowd. That said, I do understand everyone can have an off night, and given how good the drinks and atmosphere were (plus the positive reviews I've seen elsewhere), I'd likely be willing to give it another shot. Overall, great cocktails and ambiance, but inconsistent service keeps it from being a top-tier experience--for now. I will be happy to update following a repeat visit.

We love stopping in to this cozy wind bar when we are in Ottawa. It has such a continental flavor!…read moreThe cocktail selection is innovative and changes when new ideas present themselves. Wine selection is varied and prices are reasonable for the quality. Art by local artists decorates the walls, adding to the atmosphere. Never disappoints!

Had the ABSOLUTE JOY of working with The Silver Fox for my daughter's wedding this past Sunday…read more They went above and beyond in helping make this a very beautiful and perfect day for all of us. This location was not on any of our radars but after seeing this unique venue and the Weber House & Garden they work in conjunction with, we were smitten. This building offers a beautiful walk into an earlier time, when beautiful woodwork and glamor was king. It is rare to find this type of craftsmanship anywhere. The venue was absolutely loved by all. The fact that they could host the ceremony too if need be if the weather didn't cooperate for the garden was a huge plus! It relived the worry factor. We had five states represented and coming in for this wedding. The location was a bit worrying at first but it actually proved to be a straight shot from Ottawa. Ottawa has great places to stay, we found at the Harbor they have several homes of various sizes so lots of family can be in one place and it worked out perfectly. The venue offered a beautiful experience to host the cocktail hour in its elegantly appointed lounge area. The appetizer display set up, fun pool table, the beautiful bar decor, lush carpets, sofas and grand piano all added to creating mystique and ambiance. Just loved the fact that guests could anticipate through the glass French doors the next phase to come as the caterers prepared. It was great that people didn't need to head over to other bars and find places to go in between photos at the garden and actual the dinner. It offered big spaces & rooms for getting ready yet being on site to oversee preparations being done. Had beautiful photo opportunity spots to take before shots. Utilizing the whole bar services from the Silver Fox also proved to be a great choice for us. Top notch Riesling, moscatos, and red wines were served. They did an absolutely great job of cleaning up empty bottles and glasses, none of that awful build up of empties that often happen after and during dinner. Yes, I would highly recommend The Silver Fox to anyone seeking a beautiful setting and wonderful people to work with .

Many of the rooms are already decorated, leaving very little need for additional decor -- however, there is a room upstairs (the pay-it-forward room) containing leftover wedding decor from previous weddings; seriously, there is SO much stuff in there. We did not buy a single thing to decorate our wedding/reception - it was all borrowed from this room! The Silver Fox offers a "Wedding Ball"-style wedding, straying from the traditional sit-down dinner (still offered, of course). We loved doing this style of wedding! We were married upstairs in the ceremony room and the party immediately began after saying "I do"! Highly recommend this style of wedding if you're looking for something a little bit different and less traditional. We used Mark Allen's American Kitchen for catering - they are familiar with this style wedding and provided the perfect food option. Kayla, the wedding coordinator, was fantastic! We can't say enough how essential she was to making our day run smoothly. There was nothing she didn't think of and she was willing to jump in and help wherever needed! Love love love her! We brought in liquor from Streator Drug right around the corner from Silver Fox. They did all of the work, doing ice and liquor runs throughout the night as needed. Silver Fox provided the bartender! We love this place so much, we're hoping to use it again for an anniversary! While it is a bit far from the city/suburbs, it's well worth the trek out there. ALL of our guests could not stop talking about how different and wonderful it was - best decision we made!

The menu was several pages but only one page with food, drinks were the remainder. We got the dipper appetizer and I had the Sassy Chicken Thighs. Both were good and the thigh was boneless. My wife had the loaded potato salad, asparagus, and broccoli which she enjoyed. My son had the Steak Sliders with the potato salad which he really enjoyed. I suppose when the chef can master a menu there's no need for multiple pages. I misjudged and would definitely come back if I'm in town again.

The Salty Caesar Flatbread was exceptional, romaine, herb chicken, bacon, tomatoes, mozzarella, and parmesan all piled on a flatbread, you just have to try it. The Shaved steak sliders were topped with a horseradish aioli and really didn't need the au jus but it was a nice addition. And leave room for dessert because the Blueberry Cobbler was also something that you have to try. Served perfectly warm with just a small scoop of ice cream. Kitchen was a little slow with some of the dishes but it was a great meal and a great experience.

Let me start by saying that I have never left a review before, but felt the need to hype this place…read moreup. Walking in, the ambiance and decor left such a wonderful impression. My friend and I got the ricotta fritters and stuffed mushrooms, and we loved both. The Pom soda was sooooo good, and my Italian Smashburger was one of the best smashburgers I've ever had. The soda bread as a bun was amazing, and the sauce on it was addictive. I didn't walk in expecting to order a burger, but I'm so glad that I did! The service was so nice, and I feel bad that I can't remember the name of the girl working on Tuesday night, as well as the guy who was at the front of house. They were both friendly, and I'd give them compliments by name if I could. :) I'm looking forward to going back soon!

Oh boy. We got sodas. Those were good…read more We ordered "soda bread" which was not soda bread-it was focaccia bread. It was suppose to have cheeses and such in it. The waiter said it was called that because of the name of the restaurant. Uhhh-soda bread and focaccia bread are two totally different breads. It's about expectations. Then, we ordered butter because the bread was plain-the butter tasted like chapstick. So waxy! Odd. Secret meatballs. The meatballs tasted like meatloaf (I like meatloaf). Nothing special there. But, the sauce was delicious! Best part of the meal. Pasta Carbonara-yuck. So greasy. Stay away from that. ($25) Four cheese ravioli-you could get the same thing with a grocery store jar of vodka sauce and frozen ravioli. Again, don't!. The Limoncello. Huh. On the verge of too dry. Not very much lemon flavor. I would have swirled some lemon curd on the plate to drag a bite through. Maybe some fresh lemon zest on top. Highlight the meatball sauce. That's it. Cute restaurant.
