Dental World Marietta: Where do I even begin?…read more If you have dental anxiety, are in severe pain, or expect to be treated with basic compassion and respect, I would think very carefully before going here. I arrived with a severely infected tooth and facial swelling so significant that my phone's facial recognition would no longer recognize me. I was in excruciating pain, extremely anxious, and scared. I had explained my severe dental anxiety both on the phone and again while I was there. I was literally sitting in the room crying from fear, anxiety, and pain. The dentist who came into the room never even introduced himself to me. I was told I needed an X-ray that I had already explained I could not afford. It was done anyway, and almost immediately afterward I was approached about payment. I was then told the infected tooth needed to be drained. The dentist came into my room multiple times telling me he was going to numb me, only to leave again without doing it. Meanwhile, my face was extremely swollen, I was in terrible pain, and I was becoming increasingly distressed. Eventually, after repeatedly waiting for the treatment I had been told I needed, I got up and went toward the front to ask when the dentist was actually going to help me. Instead of showing any compassion for a patient who was clearly frightened and in pain, I was told that I "didn't want help" and was told to leave. I was kicked out of a dental office while suffering from a painful dental infection and significant facial swelling after they had already told me the infection needed to be drained. They offered nitrous oxide for my extreme anxiety, but I was told it would cost an additional $150. What upset me most, though, wasn't simply the cost. It was how I was treated while visibly terrified and in pain. The final insult was having a staff member laugh at me during the confrontation as I was being told to leave. I came there because I needed medical help. I did not expect special treatment. I expected basic dignity, communication, and compassion from healthcare professionals. Instead, I left humiliated, still in severe pain, still swollen, and without the treatment they themselves had told me I needed. No patient experiencing a dental emergency and severe anxiety should be made to feel ashamed, cheap, inconvenient, or disposable for asking when they are going to receive care. I will never return, and based on my experience, I cannot recommend this office.

I went to a dentist office, prior to being referred to them, and was told they wouldn't even clean my teeth until I had gum scaling done! This apparently happens often. This group is not like that. I see Dr Richard Szikman and absolutely adore him! I get high anxiety going to the dentist and my teeth are extremely sensitive. He ensures I experience no pain, he's gentle, he talks you through what he's doing, and his work is outstanding. As a special note, let me tell you, my son had his two front teeth knocked out (almost) on a Saturday night. I called Dr Szikman's office the following Sunday morning. Dr Michael Szikman called me immediately and we met him at his office within the hour and he cared for my son like you wouldn't believe. No assistant. Just warm and caring. He pulled one and dr'd the other. They're the best.

They are very close to my home, so I thought I would go check out the office, staff, etc. Dr. Lu had a cancelation when I dropped by and spent a long time with me, answering my questions about a decent amount of work I was considering having done. She was super nice, very patient and super thorough with her answers! I ended up going to Dr. Lu today for the first of my procedures-a root canal. The procedure went extremely well and I felt great afterwards. I had to go to work after the procedure and Dr. Lu evened call me later in the afternoon to check on me and see how I was doing! I can go on and on and on about Dr. Lu and the staff at Lake Park Dental. They are professional, fun, helpful and caring. I was truly blessed by the man upstairs to have found Lake Park Dental. Do yourself a HUGE favor and if you are looking for a new dental home, give Dr. Lu and Lake Park Dental a call. YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY! Thank you Dr. Lu, Amanda, Carla and everyone for your wonderful care!

Let me start by saying that the actual procedures I have received here have been great. Wait times…read morecan be a little long but besides that it's a good clinic. Now onto to 1 star... every single time I come in here I end up with an extra bill MONTHS later for hundreds of dollars. This clinic already charges the very very top of the price spectrum for everything so when I pay $2000 for a crown (just the crown not the root canal), I don't wanna get an extra bill for $300 months later... The absolute worst part is they will tell you they accept your insurance then tell you they are out of network after the procedures are over. Very deceptive. Lastly. I went in for a regular cleaning and the hygienist told me she wanted to do a "deep clean"... this "deep clean" seemed a lot less "deep" than the regular cleanings I have gotten in the past. It took maybe 10 minutes and it didn't even include the fluoride treatment. So I think they are telling you they are doing some special treatment to charge you more (over $100 more typically) and they arnt even doing anything that "deep"... All in all I was in their office for maybe 2 hours and was charged over $2000.... Like what are y'all doing that is worth over $1000/hour Cuzz I'm about to change careers.

I had an infection above a root canal that needed treatment and my Dentist sent me to a specialist…read more That specialist recommended either an apicoectomy or a re-treatment of a root canal (aka redoing the darn thing), but when I asked questions I wasn't really given a good reason to do one over the other. It's always a bit unnerving when your specialist doesn't help you make a good decision and just leaves it up to you and what you can afford. Looking up their reviews after the fact left me even more anxious. So I searched around and decided to take a chance on doing a second evaluation. GLAD I DID! 1) Wonderful service over the phone. Andy got me scheduled quickly and helped me get it to impact my work schedule the least possible even explained how I could get a copy of my CT scan from the previous specialist to save me some money. 2) During the consultation Dr. Hidi helped me understand the overall situation I was facing and the pros and cons of each procedure and helped me understand the RISKS involved with both. The price was the same for both unlike the other specialist so I could make the decision purely on outcome and risk. 3) Bedside manner was A+. I understand this is a job for Dr. Hidi, and even if you love your job you don't need to put in the effort to listen or put someone at ease but she did. She even helped me once again schedule around my work so I missed the least amount of work days as possible. Curse not having PTO! 3) The operation: As a professional in a different craft you can always tell when someone knows what they are doing. There's a certainty to your movement and a slow is fast mentality. The surgery was efficient and at no time did I feel anxious about what she was doing. Yes I did still feel anxious about the surgery itself but that's normal. 4)Recovery was WAAAY less painful than I imagined. The infection was far more painful. 5) Office staff. Friendly sweet and all things nice. 6) Cost. I paid out of pocket (no dental insurance) It was a lot but in line with the industry standard. Didn't charge for anything I didn't need. In short: 5/5 hope I don't ever need it again but if I do I'll come here
