I went to see this Dr for a root canal. Dr DID NOT use enough Anesthesia! Very painful procedure. Did not finish process here. Got a letter in the mail my acct would be headed towards collections for $12!!! Which is what was left after my insurance finishing paying. Extremely unprofessional dentist and office. I accidentally went here because my insurance company had him on the list and I assumed he was recommended by my dentist. This office is outdated and the staff are young and inexperienced. The registration forms are outdated as is much of the technology and communication in the office. He ran 50 minutes late for the appointment with no apology. A patient came out in pain/distress and was given pain meds in front of everyone. Dr. Smart spent more time talking about his "credentials" and accomplishments rather than reading the patient's history and obtaining appropriate medical records to properly assess the patient's history. He was hostile and rude. He seems to live in his past glory speaking of his past accomplishments. The office is run-down and his bedside manner is extremely poor. There is something wrong with this office and dentist. When I spoke to my dental office, they said that no one refers to him. I should have followed the referral list from my dental office and not from my insurance company. He seems to have little compassion and is more concerned about payment and his reputation. Very paranoid dentist insisting that he had to do things his way so no one would report him to the dental board. He seemed preoccupied with not losing his license. Very odd behavior. So glad I left midway through the appointment as I felt I couldn't trust his bedside manner. read more

I am, like I suspect many people, very apprehensive when having any dental work done. However, I was put at ease very quickly by Dr. Short and his staff. Dr. Short thoroughly explained the work that needed to be performed and my options. He allowed me to ask questions and patiently answered each question. He performed a retreatment of root canal ( a redo of old work). I was somewhat fearful of the novocaine injections that I suspected that would be needed for the roof of my mouth, but much to my surprise the 2 shots that I needed involved zero pain! Dr. Short also makes you as comfortable as possible during the procedure and even has a TV to watch overhead. He also explains what he is doing throughout the treatment, so there are no surprises. Victoria, his assistant, was also very nice and checked in with me during the procedure to see how I was feeling. Afterwards, Dr. Short asked me to call if I had any issues and even offered an after hours contact number. I had my retreatment done on a Thursday and had no serious problems. However, I was amazed on Monday morning when Dr. Short personally called me to check on my progress. I usually don't write reviews, but I honestly have been so impressed with Dr. Short and his team that I wanted others to benefit from my experience. read more

If a higher rating were possible, I'd rank Dr. Short even higher! Wow. He took the fear and malpractice out of root canal. First, he more than carefully and adequately explained the process using top level radiological technology. Showed me my hurting root that a previous endodontist missed two years ago. Then he explained what he would do. I came back a month later and he performed it all, again showing me what was going on. I felt no pain prior to or during the surgery. Of course, there is some soreness afterwards but he gave me pain medicine versus a prescription to go buy my own. Highly competent, outstanding patient care, latest technology, staff is so welcoming and kind and always helpful. Dr. Short worked with focused intensity on my tooth. I had a very pleasant experience from the time I walked in the door, to being taken back for an x ray. Dr Short was so helpful during the consultation that I got a thorough understanding on what needs to be done for me to move forward with my dental care. Honestly, everyone was helpful in every way possible. I felt really welcomed, it was a professional and informative consult. I finally feel like it's hope for me! I was referred to the office through someone on Facebook which I was a little hesitant because I didn't know the lady who suggested I should go see him so I put it off and went else where( Big Mistake) but I didn't know. I recently was referred to Dr. Short by my dentist Dr. Paige because I needed a root canal on a tooth supporting my bridge. The level of service was extraordinary and exceptional. I paid for my consultation and was given a complete treatment plan. It was so detailed and understandable that I elected to have the procedure same day. I went to Dr. Short on the recommendation of my dentist to determine if I needed a root canal. I started having bouts of extreme pain from a tooth being prepped for a crown the week before. I ended up needing the RC and Dr. Short performed it at the same appointment. He explained the process very well and put my mind at ease.
