Despite vapor shops on every corner nowdays, these country-bumpkins are still sucking their cancer-sticks, fouling up the public airways, and truly ruining my good time. When all the bars inside Houston proper are now smoke-free, why is La Porte still so backwards & behind the times that Nonsmoking patrons need gas masks to last a mere hour here. Also strange and dismaying is that every night at last call, the staff starts spreading rumors that "2 to 3 cop cars are parked outside across the street," waiting to pull us over and entrap us. Is this a ploy to scare us straight or get us out of there more quickly come closing time? Because every tine (3 or 4) that they've done this, we've never seen cops outside anywhere-- we scan the street, eagle-eyed, before heading home. It's too bad we have to drive all the way inside the loop to enjoy oxygen on a night out, but it seems we still have to.
