Not only was the Boardwalk Bullet a blast and a half to ride, but my back and neck were A-OK after I got off. No problem with whiplash whatsoever! One of the smoothest wooden rollercoasters I've ever been on, in fact. If you are 100+ years old, frail, barely able to walk and such, but yet you're trying to decide whether or not you should try a ride on the Boardwalk Bullet, I assure you, you'll be fine! Just make sure to wear your Depends, though.

How about this: #1000, I'm the first one to write a review on it, and one of the great rollercoasters in the country. The Boardwalk Bullet opened in 2007 a few feet from Galveston Bay. It's a woodie, and it's a crazy one. I had heard that the Texas Cyclone was relocated here from Astroworld, that DID NOT happen, these are two very different coasters. From a distance, it looks like it would be a lot of fun. The reality is much greater. First, you're waiting in line, and when the train zips under you, the entire structure shakes. Second, there is a place to put your hat, purse, phone, etc.; loose articles are prohibited. If you're nervous about riding, simply step through the train and leave, although you just lost $6 by doing so. If you do sit down, you're in for a thrill. I rode near the back, but I don't think there's a lot of difference between front and back. The Bullet never slows down from the first drop to the finish. There are three big drops, and they're all gnarly. The big feature, indeed is speed: although it barely goes over 50mph, the turns are tight, the drops are sudden, and you have only a split second to prepare for anything. The Bullet packs a lot into a small space, which makes it more intense than 80mph on a 200-foot drop. Its high noise level increases the excitement level. It's like a smaller version of the Ghost Rider in California's Knott's Berry Farm: smaller, shorter, but the same out-of-control feel. Some coasters are yawners. Others have you say "hey, that was pretty good." The Boardwalk Bullet is one of those that you'll want to ride again and again and again.

Then we took our 8- and 9-year-olds and their friends to the Aquarium for the stingray experience, which was easily one of the highlights of the day. They absolutely loved it! We also rode the boat and had a blast--the crew was so fun, energetic, and engaging. We finished the day riding all of the rides, many of them multiple times, and the kids could not have been happier. Kemah Boardwalk has been part of so many memories for our family over the years, and getting to experience it now through our kids' eyes makes it even more special. And then, sometime near the turn of the century, the Kemah Boardwalk changed all that. Out-of-town visitors by the -- give or take -- tens of thousands pay a visit every spring and summer, making Kemah a necessary item on any Houston travel itinerary. As a lifelong resident of the Houston area, I've been to the Boardwalk quite a few times for that rare opportunity to fine dine or show relatives from afar around. In my latest visit, my older brother, my eldest cousin, and I took our cousins visiting for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary here for a good hour or two on a comfortably warm day. While I'm not that thrilled that the Boardwalk is under the Landry's corporate umbrella, I still feel it's a landmark worth treating your guests to. The nearby Clear Creek and Galveston Bay look spectacular when the weather is cooperating, providing for an ideal backdrop for selfies and group pictures. Continuing on the subject of pictures, train your phones or cameras on the place's piece de resistance, the amusement park area. The famed Rattler is the most visually striking feature of the complex in my book. My poor health prevents me from getting on the rides except for the train, but I can't pass up a chance to take snaps of them. The six of us took the train around the Boardwalk. It was a great, quick way to catch a glimpse of the premises. Two tunnels, with one that's attached to Saltgrass Steakhouse, are a part of the short trek. If you're capturing pictures, I recommend that you do them in bursts . The train may move at a slow speed, but things tend to go by really fast. I almost forgot, there's a row of games that you would find at a traditional amusement park along the water. Highly recommend if you have kids. The Boardwalk isn't exactly for me, but it doesn't stop me from giving it close to high marks.

We tried rinsing the kids off before leaving but were grossed out by the bathroom. The curtains had mold and as a mother with a little one who has sensitive skin and allergies, that was a no for me. The place seems rather small compared to an amusement park like Six Flags, but it's just enough. Kids can easily spend 30 minutes - 1 hour in just one location so I really like how they can enjoy their time and casually play without parents feeling overwhelmed to get everything done to maximize the amount of money spent. We didn't host a birthday party here, but there were other parties booked. I don't know how much it costs, but let me say that the decorations were beautiful! I'm not sure if it was included or if the parents decorated themselves, but if you wanted to go all out for your child, you certainly can. The staff were also ALL super sweet and friendly! The place plans for everything, like rain. They had numerous umbrellas for patrons to use within the grounds. When it started to rain, all the staff were asking if we needed umbrellas, and one even was willing to run in the rain to get us one! Seriously, I've never seen such hospitality in an establishment from everyone! It was a mix of pop/rnb/hip hop. Perfect songs to skate to. I actually enjoyed that the rink was empty. The price for skating was a little over $30 for the two of us and included rental. That was a little steep to me. Refreshments are also expensive. A bottled water is $5. It it is 2023 so was to be expected but still a little disappointing. The skates are definitely old and several pairs are missing stoppers. I did see the attendant cleaning the skates so that was impressive. We decided on Funplex because it was the only place that was available for open skate. Other rinks have limited hours or lessons during the week.

They have hamburgers, hot dogs, corn dogs, chicken tenders etc. There are several food options close by and an easy walk to get to. Those places may be more to your liking (Bubba Shrimp, Chick Fil A etc) CONS -Two of the big rides (The roller coaster and the water ride) were closed during our entire visit, which was disappointing. I feel they should at least list on a board or tell you what isn't working when you arrive. TBH, if they told us those were not working, I would have still gone because there are other things to do. -I thought the 5D attraction was OK, but not great. The mine ride was fun, the shark attack less so. RECOMMENDATIONS -Check weather first and get there when the park opens. -Before buying your pass, ask if any rides are closed. A couple closed isn't a big deal but if 5-6 rides are closed you will want to know. -Get the unlimited day pass if you are planning on being there for more than a couple hours. -Get the unlimited refill souvenir drink cup. It pays for itself after a few refills and if you are there all day on a hot day, you will want it. It does not hold that much liquid. You can refill sodas, water or slushies. No alcohol. -If you decide to do the 5D attraction, bundle that + the park pass to get the best deal.

Because it's not the best waterpark we've been to, but it did the trick…read more --- --- --- We visited on Thursday, July 2nd and are very glad we opted to go on Thursday instead of Friday, as we noticed Galveston was a lot more crowded on Friday, which was a de-facto holiday for most people. We were walking in at 11:10am, just after they opened. We set our stuff down on a table near the entrance and headed to the first set of slides. Because we were there early on a weekday, there were no lines at all. We would talk up to the top of a tower and go right down a slide. As it turned out, it was pretty much a waste of money to grab the express passes because we only needed them on one tower (two slides). And had we known that, we would have gone to this tower first and really not even needed them at all. Every other group of slides either had zero wait, or didn't have an express lane. And unfortunately, MASSIV was closed, and as far as I could tell, that would have been the best ride. We did every slide in the park in the first two hours and then hung out for a while in the lazy river, which wasn't so lazy. I really enjoyed it, especially after climbing 40-50 stories worth of stairs to do all of the slides. I don't know that we would need to come back to Schlitterbahn again when there are other closer waterparks to us, but we were happy to try another new one that we hadn't been to before. One thing I'll note: we attempted to walk around barefoot, but the concrete was absurdly hot. I am no concrete engineer, but it seems like a waterpark should do something about that. Paint the concrete? Treat it? Add more shade? I don't know, but the answer shouldn't be: leave it all natural and 100% exposed to the elements. At the very least, leave little stations at the base of rides for sandals, because you weren't allowed to take your sandals on the slides, but there was also no place to really leave them, so we just kind of dropped them at the bottom of the stairs and hoped they would be there when we came back.

And i looked at her surprisingly. She then commanded me, " pour it back..!" like I was stealing something from the store. It was very humiliating in front of a bunch of customers staring at me. I reported this to the manager and they said they would send someone over. I still enjoyed the park later on but it was just unexpected and bad experience to be treated with disrespect.
