Skeeball not working
Lawrence B.

This place is a disaster! We are a family of five that visited today. Initial impression gave off a "rundown" but worth a look vibe, kind of like a shopping mall on the verge of being overrun by zombies. The staff couldn't be bothered to even pretend to like working there. I think they wanted to shout out a warning to run for it, but they needed the job. I think there were three restaurants on the website, one was open for business. We left for a local restaurant (a very good choice) and came back to see if we could make this Funplex fun. We couldn't. We each got a $29.95 card that promised three hours of unlimited arcade. There were a lot of broken games (see the pictures). We played a few that worked. There were kiddie rides working that we didn't opt for. The go cart looked operational but no one was using it. It was like the place had potential, but they gave up. Kind of sad. We were so bored that we could only force ourselves to play for about 45 minutes and we were done. My three sons were also done. Shock. I usually have to drag them out of an arcade. Too many other places to have fun in Houston. We will it see the inside of the Funplex ever again. Don't say I didn't warn you!

Best part of the whole thing!

Well if i could give this place negative stars I would. Decided to begin my birthday weekend with a little skating - got there before 9- was told it would 20.00 before 10, and then i would have to pay another 20.00 for the adult night skating. That was HELL NO for me - food was over priced and easily accessible at your grocery store freezer section. Lots of games not working - last visit. Maybe they should tear it down, and start over cause this ain't it. However they should keep the bull.

The great bartender

I'm at Funplex right now it wasn't my first choice because I was going to the southside sports bar and Grill off of 59 in West Airport but it was ridiculously so many cars trying to get in there even though I had a reservation, I couldn't get in. So, of course, my second go to place which will now be my first go to place was flex on Highway six and Beechnut. There were no crawls. The food was really delicious and the drinks were good and the people in the bar made the ambience in this restaurant, just great no no yelling just watching the game and having a great time. The bartender is spectacular. He's the only one in here and he's able to fix drinks for the clientele inside the bar and for the people that are in the next next building bowling so if you want to have a good time even when it's not football season, I recommend FunPlex it's family oriented. The kids can go on the ride they have for them, they have skating or they can come up in the pub and have a great time with your parents. So check it out. You really have a great time.

For this, you paid $19.95

You would think that they used the pandemic shutdown last year to clean the place up, paint the dings in the walls, and fix all the broken rides and games. But no! The place is still run-down, dirty, dusty, filthy, a real germ city. And probably 1/3 of the rides and games are STILL broken! What a rip off. Do not waste your time or your money or your health. Do not come here.

The have food, beer/seltzer and waiting area for all racers to be until their name is called. They should definitely have a few more games to keep customers busy, I walked in and one guy was sleep on the bench and nearly missed his turn. The only issue I had is the employee mentioned that the next race for my son would be "in about 15 minutes" so we bought several races on the premise of thinking that we'd have enough time to do them all in one night! Well, she lied! We ended up waiting nearly an hour! I was pretty PO'd. However, you can keep the races you bought until next time you visit. Sucks if you don't live close though. The staff on hand clearly hates their job and couldn't be bothered to look into a simple problem I encountered. In my 1st race some asshat hit me at almost full speed in the back of their "very expensive" go karts. I brought up the issue when I passed by the flag dude and he didn't seem like he even had a singular fuck to give. He said "just keep racing" which is pretty hilarious because on their wall in bold font it clearly says NO BUMPING. The party that bumped on me faced 0 consequences by staff because as I said prior they have 0 fucks to give. I understand with go karting there is a risk but no one goes karting and says I hope I get to rammed today! If you are going to have rules maybe try enforcing them? Now I have pretty bad neck and back pain. Do better K1 Speed this is the 1st and last time I will ever visit this dumpster locale.

I really loved that even adults can join in--sliding, jumping, and just having a good time right along with the kids. Because it was a Tuesday night, it wasn't crowded at all, which made the experience even better. There was plenty of space for the kids to run around and enjoy themselves without feeling overwhelmed. The party itself was great. There were lots of kids, pizza provided by the venue, and a variety of treats like cake pops and other sweets that were made by the birthday girl's mom--everything was nicely done and enjoyable. The pizza was actually good, which is always a plus at kids' parties. The staff was pretty decent--nice and friendly--and the restrooms were clean. My only small complaint is that the restrooms didn't have paper towels, only hand dryers, which I personally don't love. Other than that, everything was good. The boys went home full, happy, and satisfied. All in all, it was a great way to spend a Tuesday night, and I'd definitely recommend Slick City Action Park for a kids' party or just some active family fun.

That was my fault because I thought it was adult night since the times were 830 to 1030 neon night. To my surprise, I walked into the venue to see many children and adults . They do have adult nights, but it wasn't the day that I went. Pro - I really enjoyed riding down on the slides and surprisingly it wasn't a long wait time, despite the large number of people in the venue. A by the end of the night I definitely got my 10K steps. Con - I hate that we had to pay full price for entry despite waiting in line for almost 40 minutes. The second con is enforcing the policy to where their specific socks versus any grip socks. Overall, it was a very great time! They do have other activities available: basketball, dodgeball zip lines. I didn't really participate in those areas except the mini zipline , but it's nice to know that they have other options available for people other than slides.

During the party, the assigned table collapsed. The host informed us that, per the manager, guests affected by the incident could receive a complimentary beverage at the concession stand. When I went with a family member to request the drink, we were met with unpleasant and unprofessional behavior. The staff--who appeared to be a group of young employees--told us the drinks had already been "replenished," made dismissive remarks under their breath, exchanged looks, displayed attitude, and were confrontational for no reason. It was uncomfortable and unwelcoming. When I attempted to clarify the situation with additional staff, I was told something completely different. The lack of communication and the disrespectful demeanor from the concession team completely ruined the experience. Despite the nice facility, the customer service was frustrating enough that I left early and will not be returning. A business can have great amenities, but the staff's attitude makes all the difference--unfortunately, that's where this place fell short.

The one in Vegas has a different theme than Houston. I didn't know what to expect. I was feeling a wide range of emotions prior to going in, but luckily, it all turned out to be good. My overall experience was I felt like I was in a music video for Tool, Massive Attack, and Aphex Twin; it was excitingly confusing with a spark of wow moments. Get the glasses, it definitely intensifies the experience of the art. Without the glasses, the neon effects aren't going to pop out! A lot of mixed media and contemporary art that I can appreciate. I love how every room that you go into is very different from the last. The Comboy Hevven bar reminds me of listening to Midnight Burger podcast; a time traveling diner in an altered universe in another planet. Meow Wolf is a play on your own imagination. I had a ton of fun. The parking lot in front of the venue is paid; $11. Find one nearby that isn't. The gift shop is stupid expensive and IMHO, not worth it. A T-shirt was $75, a keychain is $15, a neon light $95, in this economy, that's wicked and wild just because it has Meowwolf logo on it. I can't wait, we're checking out the one in Dallas too!

I stopped by Meow Wolf - Radio Tove on a Sunday afternoon. The way their tickets work, you can get…read morea cheaper price if you do a timed admission (rather than getting a daily admission ticket where you can stop by anytime). I chose 3 p.m. One of the few things I don't like about Meow Wolf is that you have to pay for hourly parking in the lot close to the museum. It's a big parking lot so it's purely a money-making scheme. Luckily, I was able to find some free parking on the street a few blocks away. This might not be possible during a peak time like a Saturday. Meow Wolf is located right next to St. Arnold Brewery if you're looking for a one-two punch. Now, let's get to the good stuff. I've been a Meow Wolf fan for a long time. I visited their original location in Santa Fe over a decade ago. Since then, they've expanded to Denver, Las Vegas, Grapevine, and Houston. I've been to all fo their locations outside of Grapevine. It's tough to describe Meow Wolf since it's different than anything else out there. I'll put it this way. It's a trippy experience. Maybe what it would be like if you were taking psychedelics. It's creativity at its finest. That means that if you're looking for structure and direction, Meow Wolf is going to frustrate you. Think of it like the TV show LOST. There's plenty of mystery and intrigue and you may not understand everything that's going on but you can still appreciate the experience. And the incredible work that countless artists made to create this interactive experience. Here's a loose storyline for you. A group of individuals were working at a radio station in Houston. And then they disappeared. Were they abducted by aliens? Did the enter some sort of parallel or alternative universe? That's for you to figure out by exploring Meow Wolf and looking for clues. To help you, they have an app that you can download. It's not needed to experience Meow Wolf, but it helps. Think of it like the special features of a TV show. You'll have access to more content e.g. pictures, videos, and more. Will you come away fully understanding what happened? Probably not. But that's part of the beauty. Depending on how dedicated you are to the cause, your time spent at Meow Wolf can vary. I got pretty deep into it and it took me about two hours. I was pretty proud of myself for some of the dots I connected...hint hint, something you come across in the first room will later give you access to some special recordings in another part of the museum. That's all I'll give you. Some other cool aspects of Meow Wolf: there's a little stand selling boozy slushes and empanadas. And then a speakeasy dive bar with both food and drinks. Meow Wolf is a feast for the senses. It's weird. It's quirky. It's unique. And something I really appreciate is that they took inspiration from Houston and interwove it into the madness. You'll see Houston's rap scene represented e.g. DJ Screw, Lil' Flip, and Mike Jones. You'll see Houston sports represented e.g. the Houston Rockets. You'll see NASA represented. It's Meow Wolf with a Houston twist. My only other real complaint outside of parking is the prices at their gift shop. They have magnets that they sell for $15. And trucker hats that are $30+. It's a little obscene. Outside of trying to gouge you a little bit with parking and the gift shop, Meow Wolf is an incredible experience. The art is impressive. The experience is unique. I now need to visit their Grapevine location so that I can say I have visited them all.
