The place has potential but seems like management and staff do not care. For $50 per person for unlimited half the games were down and half the rides were down. Employees give such an i don't care attitude . I don't think the AC works in there. It has the potential but needs more effort. And a good cleaning for sure. The credit system is confusing but the things to do for our 5-year-old are great. We really just hung out in the play area that we really wish we can just get an all-day pass with unlimited entry/exits instead of only getting to enter again if you're back in 30 minutes. That did not give us a lot of time to eat or try other things. Our son especially liked the skating rink with training walkers. Overall some staff are nice but the staff at busier rides/attractions were unfriendly. If I could give zero stars I would. Only the bowling section is open right now and it's by far the worst bowling lanes I have ever used. The bowling balls were all dirty and disgusting. It smelled like musty mildew at the ball return and the lanes have probably never been waxed. Half the bowling shoes were falling apart and didn't have the right sizes. No wonder there is a sign at the counter saying "no refunds". I wanted a refund right after I bowled the first ball. We ended up leaving after 30mins when we paid for 2 hours. read more

To be honest, I came here with low expectations based on word of mouth. Despite the negative reviews, I decided to come and see for myself what this place was or wasn't about. Unlike many others, my first time here is as an adult. Despite my older age, I was excitedly impressed with the lights, music, and decor upon entering. It reminded me of Vegas on a more kid friendly level. I was disappointed in the lack of customer service and staff. It was rather difficult to find employees to ask about drinks (water) and the bar. When we finally found someone, we were told that the bar doesn't open until 3 pm. Okay, fair enough. We return to the bar at 3 pm with no one to end to us until about 20 minutes later. I don't recommend the drinks here BTW. Now, the activities. The roller skating rink is nicely decorated with music and videos. There's a huge disco light that unfortunately wasn't turned on. Just keep in mind that there are no lockers or place to put your belongings. I left my shoes in the open under one of the benches. The go-karts were decent speed, but be careful to not bump into anything or anyone as 2 strikes, you're out. Also when one go-kart is stopped, ALL Go-Karts must be stopped which could put a damper in your experience if you have a poor driver in your group. While the glitz and glamor were nice to look at, and it was an overall fun experience bc it is what you want to make it, I am not likely to return due to the lack of staff and lateness to open. Well it was so hot that the girls stopped skating 20 minutes in and the rides were all out of order as well as most of the arcade games. It's super nice and impressive a artist could do a music video there is a grand venue for parties. I was invited to family night during the actual day of thanksgiving and we won. I felt so blessed. My so played the arcade games and we rode rides. I think I want to try and go skating next time we go there. Worst service. Non-attentive workers. Waste of money!! We spent $64 for non working bowling lane. We tried to explain the workers that it wasn't operating normally but they keep insisting that it was. They justified it by giving us a few extra minutes but it continued to mess up. It wouldn't have been hard just to give us a new lane, the place was empty. The kids were just as frustrated as us. We decided to play games instead. There was about 30 minutes until closing so we just bought a small amount for the kids. The workers were not helpful with getting us on the rides so it was closed after we only rode one ride. STAY AWAY-I was here Saturday (4/22/23) for my 4yo niece and 6yo nephew, 98.5% of the arcade games DID NOT WORK, the other's didn't work properly. When my sister and brother in law went to speak to someone, they stated they couldn't provide a refund on give more points to use towards games (which didn't work) or for activities. They could have a least given the service fee back; our host we had to go and look for several times she said the pizza would be ready at 5 and she didn't come back with it till 5:30. So we had a bunch of hungry 4-6yo and she didn't know how to hand out the pizza, instead of taking the box around, she handed it out slice by slice-which we had to help her do that. I came in on a Wednesday during spring break, when purchasing the card I specifically asked the girl at the front services if I was able to use it for the rest of the day (given it was an hour or two before they closed and she said yes. I played the arcade games for less than an hour, after playing for less than an hour the card said it needed to be recharged, I went back to the front desk to see what was going on. The girl was very rude and unprofessional with her response on how she treated customers. I requested the manager where she was able to give me an additional playing card. This facility in all needs to be renovated, half the games don't even work. Employees need more training, they clearly are teenagers that don't care about working or helping. I cannot come back here and torture myself in this place again. I came here thinking this would be a great all-day place to be with my kids but the staff just seems to really hate coming to their jobs and get upset when paying customers want to get in a ride...true story! First of all, the place is a little older and run down, some games do not work and the rides have so many restrictions (which I get it) But I wish their website had all the height requirements so no one would have feel left out. I also did sign the waivers to only get there and have to re fill them out since their wi-fi was down (Yes a little frustrating) Since only 4 go-karts can go at once and had to wait awhile to get on it. The place has a foul smell, the carpet is old and since a lot of the guests do not know how to pick up after themselves, the staff would just let the trash accumulate and only intensified the smell. The cashiers were not as nice, they were too busy carrying on their conversations that I had to raised my voice so one of them could lead me to the restrooms. The redemption center is a joke! They make it so hard to get any kind of prize that aren't tattoos or stickers. My kids left disappointed without a prize and the only ride they were able to hop on multiple times, was the bumper karts. It is a baby's FIRST birthday party that many many little children attended and she completely ruined it. At about 9:20pm on Thursday I decided to stop by to catch the game.... Walked into the bar/lounge and it was completely empty. No patrons..... no bartender. As I walked around to the bowling alley to find someone I saw that there were 2 lanes going. There was a young lady speaking with one of the lanes and when she was finished she walked towards the back while looking at her phone. Never once did she look up and scan the area to check if there were any new customers. I watched her stand there for a few minutes on her phone then she walked further back and out of sight. Assuming she was going to the bar area, I walked to the other side.... But no one was there. The music was so loud that no one could hear me calling for assistance. I stood at the bar for about an another minute or so and still no one came. I walked to the end of the bar where the door to the kitchen is and seen 2 girls dancing.... Looked like they were doing TikTok videos . I gave a loud "EXCUSE ME IS SOMEONE WORKING HERE" So they could hear me over the music blasting. They separated quickly and one came out to the bar. I asked if I could get a beer and can she change the TV to the game. There was not a single TV on sports... they were on various random channels. The girl tells me that she has to ask her manager if about changing the TV. Which was shocking because this was never an issue when the other bartender was here (Sheltric). The girl then asked me if I wanted my beer now or when she got back from talking to her manager. Surprised that that would even be a question I told her to go ask him and I'll run to the restroom. When I got back she said that she texted him and was waiting for a response. She finally serves me the drink I ordered and I asked is there an issue with having the TV on a sports channel. She stumbled over her words because she clearly didn't know what to do or how to do it. By this time it's almost 10pm and I know that's when they close.... So I basically waited over 30 minutes for nothing. As I sat there finishing my drink she tells me that the manager said that the TV will not be changed because it's 7 minutes till closing. What does the TV have to do with closing? Paid for my drink and left. I have about 15 years of experience in restaurants and bars (hospitality) and never once have I EVER seen or heard of not being able to change the channel because it's almost time to close. I'm not sure why they changed bartenders but this move is not a good luck. The bar has gnats, spots on the bar top that were smeared with whatever someone ate and instead of taking a wet rag to clean it they probably used dirty napkins. When the other bartender , Sheltric, was there it was ALWAYS clean and inviting. I had been in several times when it was busy and he made sure to at least speak or gesture to me that he'd be with me shortly. This place has gone to pure crap. I came here with my cousin last week ( to the bowling alley) and i was debating if to do a review or not but i decided i should. we spend $50 on a hr for me and him. When we first got there it seemed like the girl had a attitude for no reason we had just gotten there i get it some people have bad days okay that was fine i let it slide like wtv i came to have fun so i wont let it affect me, until our lane started acting up the thing that picked up the cones would pick them up and drop them all so it would just pick them up for like a second and just let go had to complain that it would close on its own and wont bring the pins back. I went to complain like 5 times and they got tired of me i even apologize and i should not apologize but they were tired of me complaining but if im paying them at lease help me out . The last time i went to complain was that the balls got stuck they wouldn't come back i asked the people next to me ( we were sharing the bowling balls) i was like "hey can yall please go tell them they are tired of me complaining" and they said " we have complained like 3 times already" I was like wow so its not just me complaining so i went. Also the reason i went again was because the thing started to smell like it was burning . Once i was getting close to the girl or lady she got mad cuz i went AGAIN. I was like "hey im sorry but the balls got stuck and it's starting to smell like something is burning" Once i said burning she ran to take a look and called her co workers. She ended up moving us from that lane. when we had like 10 minutes left . The only reason that im giving it a 2 stars was because she gaves us a extra 10 minutes and she apologized when i went to take the shoes back. I think this is probably a great place for bowling. It was one of Houston's first, if not THE first, for computerized bowling (when the scores come up automatically, computized, and such on screens) in the Houston area. And now? Yes, it's gone downhill from its glory days when it was known as Fame City. Now, Funplex offers cheap entertainment, ghetto style, to the kids who would love to have fun and for parents who can hardly afford Houston's more expensive entertainment venues. And still, I would come here for bowling as it is cheaper than anywhere else when I was there during weekday nights. It may have been a special price. There is also a 99 cents menu in the bowling area - I recommend the cheese sticks. There's still putt putt golf, bumper cars, arcades, roller skating, a small water theme park, and a movie theater that shows Indian movies (testiment of the growing Indian community in this part of Houston). It's still a fun place to go to with friends on the cheap. It is also great location for a kid's birthday party. The only thing that is holding up its stars is its affordability and the variety of activities. Don't expect glamour here. read more

If this location was located more towards downtown, it would be jammed packed everyday. Located on the back of Beechnut more towards Hwy 6, it's a far drive if you live anywhere else in Houston but the Southwest. Nevertheless, this is a one stop shop for all fun and games! From skating, to bowling and their Ferris wheel located in the middle of the food court, it's enough to get me driving to celebrate any occasion life has got to offer! I came here on a Sunday for a birthday party, and walking in, I felt like a kid again. It's been newly renovated and revamped. The arcade room has new games for teens and up and scattered around seems like an indoor carnival. The lights are neon and mesmerizing leaves kids in a trance to expel all of their energies in a frenzy that only the young can relate to. Needless to say, I did enjoy the ambiance and vibe, and the kids loved it. I will definitely return and hope that one day, they open something like this closer to the city! read more

There are plenty of games and activities to do for kids here but everything you see is dirty. Half of the games are inoperable because they are broken. The toddler area has duck tape on all the equipment, the carpet is just littered with trash and stained. Do not pay full price it's a rip off, just get a Groupon. Came here around 9PM to roller skate, but the rink was locked in preparation for adult night at 10PM. Which was fine. We killed some time playing at the arcade. 10PM comes so we get in line to enter the rink. However, they only accept cash or card. Unfortunately, we had already loaded our Funplex card with the cash we had in order to enter the rink because that's how it usually works. But, no problem--we'll pay with card. Then the employee says the register currently only accepts cash. She was very nice and sweet and I hope nobody gave her issues over what Funplex is responsible for. Since we used most our cash to load the card, we didn't have enough to cover the charge. FYI, adult night charges higher than usual. In the end, we had to turn around and go home. It was not worth withdrawing cash to get in. It is evident there's little maintenance going on here. Not only were there issues with the register, there were a few machines either defective or shut down. Defective as in some 2-player games only had one player actually working. Poorly maintained. You won't get the most of your money since some things don't work. Not recommended. read more

I came here for a skating date night on a Saturday night which was an HORRIBLE IDEA...on my part. There were entirely too many kids on the rink and there was no way it wasn't over capacity. After getting my skates and I was going to put my things in a locker only tho find that the lockers were missing locks, I was over it by then I asked the manager what could be done he said that i could place my things in the unsecured locker and I asked him if there was anyway i could just get my rental and skate time back on my Funplex card he then said that there are no refunds and all sales are final. I explained how that is understandable but putting the activity back on my card isn't necessary a refund when it can only be redeemed at the Funplex he then said he could not help me. I went to the Funplex on a Sunday night with 7 other people to celebrate ending a long week of work. We went there hoping to enjoy a chill night of games and activities. Even though there were a lot of arcade games that weren't working, as well as some limitations on what we could participate in because we are all adults, we were making the best of it. Now, we got there a about 8:30 because on their website it says that the activities are open until 10pm and that skating and bowling were open until 11pm. (We figured that was plenty of time for us) Fast forward to 10pm, we start heading to the skating rink but were told it was closed. So we head to the front desk to ask why it's closed when it's supposed to be open until 11pm. Anyway, while we were all still at the desk they told us that although the skating might be closed, we could still go bowl because it was open. We head to their bowling alley and as soon as we got inside they told us they were closed. There was also another group that was told the same thing. (We now had allies) There was quite a back and forth between one of the members of our group and the person at the front desk. Everyone working there seemed to be teenagers except for the women we were speaking to. The other employees were getting rowdy and she just did not want to help us at all... To cut this story short, the cops were called on us because we refused to leave without a refund- We ended up leaving without one anyway. Just don't waste your time/money. read more

The place itself has a lot of entertainment, which was pretty awesome. My boys (ages 6 & 4) had a great time. We attended a birthday party and I was a little let down after playing 3 games and running out of points on the play card given to us from the host. It wasn't explained to us how it worked. The two employees that were over the party weren't very attentive and one of them seem new, she had a very heavy accent and didn't seem to know much of how anything worked. Luckily we were given another play card as there was some left overs and we were more careful with our points and the boys really enjoyed the rides. As far as having a party at this location, it seemed great but I didn't like how the employees assigned to our party lacked professionalism and party etiquette. I think one of them assisting with cutting the cake was behind the birthday girl in all the pictures and just stood in the way. They just weren't the best helpers. The place itself once again had a lot to do! They had a skating rink which was included in the play card and we just had to pay for the balancers which was about $5. There was also a gamer room with computers for older children who like to play video games. There was also another area for smaller kids, they had a slide and kiddy toys upstairs. We found it a little later but the boys enjoyed themselves and even my youngest (1y/o) was able to play in this area. We went on a Sunday which was pretty empty and worked great for us. No over crowding. It's a great concept but seems like the employees need better training. They charge 16.24 to skate with your own skates they may be the most expensive rink in the world. The floor has gotten so bad they require a waiver.
