I was craving a nice big burger after having run the Marine Corps Marathon earlier in the day, so I stopped by here for dinner. It was conveniently within walking distance from the Crystal City Metro Station. The place was pretty packed and busy for Sunday evening. Once I knew what I wanted I got in the line that was set up in front of the kitchen area. When it was my turn, I ordered their Big Stuff Bacon Meltdown and a Milky Way Malt Shake. After paying for my food, I was given a pager to notify me when my food was ready. The burger was a hearty sized, delicious, nice and beefy. The bun held up and did not fall apart. The only slight issue that I had with it was that the patties were a bit overcooked for my liking. I suppose next time I can tell them to cook it medium instead of well done. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but that malt shake was a nice dessert to go with the burger. Overall this was a nice spot to enjoy a burger with a lot of TV's all around the restaurant. A Co Worker was raving about this place. It was pretty busy and had a fairly simple menu, but for some reason, the service was slow, it was at least 15 minutes for our burgers to arrive. Food was tasty and portions generous, but it wasn't by any means life changing. Since it was close to where we were, it was solid, but I would never drive out of my way for this place. This place is located on the Crystal City strip. They have a lot of interesting burger choices, but I decided to go with the Obama burger. It tasted okay, but the bread was very soggy. The fries were good and my Key Lime pie milkshake was delicious. I highly recommend their shakes. They have a few exotic flavors to chose from. My food was made fresh and I did not have to wait long. The restaurant was very clean and they have an awesome dipping sauce bar for your fries. I had a tough time deciding so I got a sampler. My favorite was the crab seasoning one. They have a few TVs around the restaurant and their is limited metered street parking in front of the restaurant. There are however, a few parking garages in the vicinity that you can park, for a fee. I would have liked to have given them 4 stars, but the bread was the soggiest that I have ever had. This is so average and average is fine Iif they advertise like "we've got *decent* burgers!" But they advertise like they have this super special beef and meat and my omni friend said the only thing that aaved the burger was the toppings. She wasn't impressed at all with meat quality. I ordered the Shroom Burger aka "vegetarians are people too" burger. It was a fried portobello mushroom. Just OK. That's the only vegetarian option. Kinda behind the times. After several minutes perusing the menu, we step into line to order at the register. I added slices of avocado to my Michelle Melt and the other options stick to the menu ingredients. Truth be told my chicken sandwich was DRY and im not saying oh a little dry I mean VERY dry and hard. Had lunch here today for the first time in FIVE YEARS and things have certainly changed! This quick-service restaurant still serves good food, but now you have to do everything. Go to a counter to order your food (not a problem). THEN when the pager goes off, YOU go get your food (also not a big deal). THEN, after you finish eating (I expect to do this part on my own anyway), YOU have to clear your own table (also not a big deal). But if you're doing everything except cooking the food, WHY THE &$%# would they ASK FOR A TIP when you order and pay? UPDATE: The owner contacted me immediately after I posted this review and assured me that our latest experience was out of the ordinary, and I believe him. The situation that prompted my second review came after a kid at the counter openly solicited a tip, and apparently didn't follow the owner's guidance about tips. I feel kind of bad that the owner's fortunes are tied to employees who don't follow procedures or who are only there part time and might not fully invested in the success of the business. (I'm very much of the impression that this particular counter person was an exception). As I've said before, the food here is good. I ordered the Michelle melt and it was DELICIOUS! There's a great selection of sandwiches (burgers/ chicken sandwiches) as well as vegetarian options. I love how there's tons of sauces to choose from, which come in its own mini serving so that condiments are not being shared amongst customers. There's ample seating here, and it uses a fast casual service system using a Pager, so you know when your order is ready at the front. Good Stuff has awesome burgers, fresh fries, and shakes! Ate lunch here today. This was my second time here. Both times I had The Lunch Bag. Comes with a cheese burger, fries and a fountain drink for $18.65 (total price with tax). The cheese burger is small, like snack size. I am not sure if asking how you want your burger cooked is an option (I failed to ask, they didn't ask), but both times I didn't, both times it was medium. If you're someone who likes your burger well done, you should definitely let them know. As far as taste, it was really good. They give you a generous amount of fries. The first time I ate there, I ate in. I did like their dining room. They are able to fit fairly good groups, if you like to dine with your coworkers or just a good size friend group. I ordered the Nashville Hot chicken; it was a fried chicken sandwich with Buffalo sauce. That's not a Nashville fried chicken sandwich. Even then, it was re-fried chicken, lukewarm, and not even spicy. My son Tends to order burgers plain. He liked it a lot but I think they may do burgers better than chicken. Fries are tasty, but the sea salt versions are not very salty. Unlike the burger, fry order size is decent. Shakes are smooth and wonderful. When I say the burgers are tiny, they are smaller in circumference than a McD basic burger but a little larger than a Krystal burger (the mini-burger place). They are like squares, as they are as tall as they are wide. I'm torn. Do I really need a bigger burger like the ones at Holy Cow (my favorite burger place)? I am in town for a few days so gave it a try based on a recommendation from a local. I ordered the Farmhouse Cheeseburger and fries. This was the best burger I've ever had! Cooked perfect, 1/3lb of beef with a perfect meat/cheese/bun ratio. Fries were delicious and on the table was a bottle of malt vinegar. There was also an area designated as a DIP BAR!!! stopped here for a quick lunch. I was greeted by Good music -AC/DC, Motown, & Paul Simon. There are a variety of burgers. There were meat, turkey and vegetables options (fried green tomato or mushroom). I choose the farmhouse cheese burger. They come with lettuce, pickles, raw onions and "sauce" if you get "everything". Being an adventurous eater I did not ask what the sauce was. Then there was the fry decision. There were plain fries, fries with rosemary and some other options. You get a lighted pager to notify you when your order is ready. This took about 5 minutes for an early lunchtime order. The fries were amazing. Heavily covered with herbs, which was great. My burger was good, but not outstanding. It was a little rare, see photo. I am sure they would have fixed it if I had brought it to their attention. However I was not that hungry and just sort of ate around the outside. Gender neutral bathrooms were clean and well stocked. I often comment on bathrooms. We were in the area and had recommendations to check this place out, and I'm so glad we did! The staff was super friendly and helpful as I looked a little intimidated by the menu. They have a decent sized selection of burgers, sandwiches and other things. But don't mind me, I'm indecisive by nature lol. Like I said, the man who took my order was more than happy to help me out. It's been awhile since I went so I don't remember his name, but I'm sure the experience is similar with many of the people that work there. I was convinced into ordering the Coletti's Smokehouse burger, the Salty Caramel kiss mini moo (I know lol), and Spike's Village fries. They also have an impressive selection of condiments already prepackaged in little plastic cups with labels near the drink machines. Most of the things you've thought of, they got it covered. So under impressed and overly disappointed. Strolled in here kinda late on a Saturday evening looking for a good bite to eat. As soon as we entered we were greeted by the gentleman behind the counter who told us to take our time deciding and to let him know when we were ready to order. After dissecting the menu we decided on the Michelle Melt and the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich coupled with the Spike Village Fries. I was excited that everything is made to order so of course we received a pager and found a seat and commenced to waiting on our food. After about 15 minutes or so, the buzzer lights up and we retrieve our food from the counter. The fries looked amazing as they danced in the brown paper bag leaving greasy fry prints all over the bag. The fries were dressed thyme , rosemary and sea salt were good. They would have been delicious if they were hot, even after waiting 15 minutes they were not hot. Lukewarm at best. The Michelle Melt looked amazing but it was cold too. The bread was so hard that the plastic knife would not even cut it. No dents, no dings, nothing at all. No action. Firmer than a freshly minted penny. It was actually unbelievable. The irony of it all was the cheese was completed melted and running down the sides of the turkey burger but it was cold to the taste. The Nashville Hot Chicken was in no way hot, flavor or taste. Again a cold chicken sandwich that looked good on the outside but cold as a dead fish on arrival. I was flabbergasted since we had to wait for the food to be made and yet it was still cold. How does that even happen? I was super disappointed because I recall eating here before, pre-yelp days and it was fabulous. So imagine my surprise when I dined here and there was no nostalgia at all. Obama burger was the business. My Obama burger came out a bit oily and the bun was unattractively dented, but the flavor is all that matters right? It was scrumptious! The burger is under $10 and if you've read my reviews you know I love my humble prices. The hot chicken on the other hand, left much to be desired. We ate here because we live in the neighborhood. There is a bunch of other restaurants nearby as well - Sweetgreen, We the Pizza, and Chick-Fil-A. Because this is located in Crystal City downtown, it is your typical parallel street parking and some nearby paid parking garages. Good Stuff Eatery is a local restaurant chain with several locations in Crystal City, Georgetown, and Capitol Hill. I looked for fun on their website and looks like they have a location all the way in Egypt. LOL. I have tried the milkshakes at Georgetown and found the quality between these two locations to be pretty consistent. Today, we decided to go all-out and get burgers, milkshakes, and the village fries. I opted for the meal - a farmhouse cheeseburger with the classic vanilla milkshake and village fry-- the cheeseburger itself was $7.50 and the add-on $7.25 so it was a total of around $14.75 not including tax. The cheeseburger is a solid burger-- although proportions are a bit smaller than I thought for a $7ish dollar burger. The milkshake is a solid dessert item that is also worth to grab if you're in the area just looking for a quick dessert (and you want something other than a Chick-Fil-A milkshake). The fries were GENEROUSLY SEASONED with thyme, rosemary, and sea salt -- our car still smelled like it days after bringing home the fries!! Opt for the village fries vs. the hand cut fries if you want some extra flavoring with your fries. I have to say what takes the cake is the VARIETY OF DIPPING SAUCE THEY HAVE!!! I highly recommend the old bay mayo -- I don't think I've had a sauce like this before. Other notable sauces include mango, chipotle, sriracha mayo, horseradish mayo -- and you've got your good ol' mayo (if you wanna try to be a European, always try dipping your fries in mayo - don't knock it 'till you try it), ketchup, etc. etc. Maybe this is because of COVID-19 precautions, but the sauces are already served in small covered dipping containers.... so we might've helped ourselves to the sauces to try 'em all out. In conclusion, this is another solid burger, fries, and milkshake place if you want try something different than Shake Shack, Chick-Fil-A, other burger joints in the area. read more

It's a level above Five Guys / Z burger / etc. because they do the little things well like serve fresh toppings, the beef if flavorful and the toppings are much better. Every time I order a beef or chicken burger I order it with a fried egg. The burger size is everything you'd expect from an All-American burger joint. The burgers are always fresh and juicy. The fries are probably no different than the competitors I mentioned considering how they are prepared. The regular serving of fries is probably large enough to feed 2. I've visited this location a few times and I think my best takeaway is the consistency in the quality of food. My biggest concern is the few times I've visited the dining tables were filthy. They have hand sanitizer at each table however it serves no purpose if the tables are filthy from the previous diner. Please invest in continuous table-cleaning. It's not hard or challenging. I'm not sure what their special sauce is at this place, but I couldn't taste any difference. I had high hopes for the fries thinking they were going to be awesome. The fries had A TON of seasoning literally caked on. It was awful. I had to put my bag outside of my hotel room because it stunk so bad. To top off this fiasco, I paid for a bottle of water which they forgot to put with my order. I don't visit DC too often, but this won't be a place I'll return to when I do. read more

Best bang for your buck. Got two burgers, the big stuffed bacon meltdown double patty and the steakhouse burger. Came to 20$ total with tax. They were very greasy. It was very messy to eat so I suggested grab a bunch of napkins. I thought it was very cool that they have a dip bar that you can grab all kinds of sauces if you want. Reminds me of a little better then a fast food place. They have an outdoor patio seating area. They also do deliver but charge a 3$ delivery fee.
