I had my vehicle towed there due to a battery failure. I asked them to assess for other needs. They came back with a quote hundreds of dollars more than other places are now telling me but the worst is that they tried to give only a 3 month warranty on new parts and labor. Parts that typically come with a 12-24 month manufacturer's warranty. They want to proudly display a piece of paper on the office wall citing they are a minority owned business but they are predatory. I wasted an entire day and money on having my vehicle towed to them plus the $80 for diagnostics because they are a auto repair business that lied to me when I questioned them about offering a 3 month warranty. The receptionist said she was told to tell me that 'IL state law allows them to reduce warranty' . A place like this has no business operating in any of the 50 contingent states as FEDERAL LAW does not allow a repair shop to modify the manufacturer's warranty. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which applies in all 50 states including Illinois, a manufacturer cannot void or reduce their parts warranty simply because an independent shop (rather than a dealership) performed the installation. This is a federal consumer protection law and it is very clear on this point. Unfortunately for them they documented this revised warranty on the invoice emailed to me and even getting the invoice was a trial. The receptionist tried to have me 'come in to get it' but I refused as I had already been there to talk with the mechanic when my vehicle was dropped off. I insisted the it be emailed and it eventually was. Don't waste your time with these predators. No one has time for games and scams. I would never trust my vehicle repair to them and hope they are not preying on the surrounding community and college population in the area. Just disgusting.

I pull over to call the shop to tell them the car was over heating. The shop said"just drive it and temp would go down". I drove it immediately back home the water hose broke. i let the car sit for life 6 years. I went to the shop and the thermostat housing were broken filled with a glue like substance that clogged the heater coil. Then I went to the shop again for a squeaking noise and guess what. They didn't do the sway bars, ball joints, or rods. This was dangerous to play with someone's safety. Then I had to pay them 2500 For repairs they say they did. At first I thought it was a really good shop but this is not a trustworthy repairman. They took all my money don't go here for nothing

10/23 - My oil light came on so I went to Jiffy Lube to get an oil change. They refused me service…read moresaying my new oil drain plug installed by Irvin's is leaking oil and needed rethreading. Brought my car back to Lionel and was told that the NEW oil drain plug he installed was faulty which caused the leaking and he would replace it. He then told me I had leaking Valve Cover Gaskets which was the cause of all the smoking. Mind you, Lionel never mentioned these leaking Valve Cover Gaskets the first time I visited the shop and spent $1,200 on repairs. After receiving ANOTHER $1,300 Quote for repairs, I took my car to a Chevy Dealership. I recommend that you only take your vehicle to this business IF you know about cars and the service hours it takes for your repairs. Otherwise, you'll be taken advantage of with extra labor costs and service diagnoses you may not need. Use this service at your own risk. Unfortunately, I will not return to this establishment.

I pulled around the truck and parked at the gate. When Rick opened the gate the man in the truck told Rick I butt the line which was not true no one was in the truck I thought it was abandoned. I was trying to explain what happened why I was parked by the gate. Rick hollered and screamed at me and said talk to all the people behind me, don't tell him nothing he doesn't want to hear what went on. He was saying he knew his friend for 30 years and he believes him. I was so shocked because I have been going to this shop for over 10 years and gave Rick a lot of referrals. For him to talk to me like he did was appalling I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I ask a friend I referred had he did that before and he said yes he does it all the time. OMG terrible I will never support him again. I am so sad because he was telling me to take my car somewhere else. All I was doing was trying to explain that I was not trying to butt that truck it looked abandoned and I pulled around. I know people have bad days but this was the worse. No respect, hollering constantly and no professionalism with this shop. I will never go back and will never give him any more referrals. He doesn't give women no respect he's terrible.

He explained that the computer likely reset itself, which he said is fairly common with Lexus vehicles. He told me to pick it up at no charge. He easily could have said they did work that wasn't necessary and I would have paid without knowing the difference, but he didn't--and that says a lot about their integrity. I always have great experiences here. I never question the cost because they consistently do excellent, honest work.
