Prior to the adventure, the owner, Bobby, met with me and my dog in person. He took the time to learn about my dog's personality and behaviors, and answered all of my questions. After meeting him I felt very comfortable letting him take my fur baby out and had confidence that it would go well. (I don't easily trust anyone with my dog, so this is saying a lot) Bobby was professional, kind, super knowledgeable about dogs and supportive. He took some great photos of Leia having a blast on her adventure which I loved. I would highly recommend this local business to anyone who wants their dog to go on adventures with a company who cares about and has experience working with our canine companions!

Took our 20 yo cat in for an exam. First, they made excuses about accepting the "First Exam Free"…read morecoupon. At first we were happy with the care, mostly due to the nice young vet tech, Damien. The Vet discovered a cardiac problem which we complete unaware of and had never been diagnosed. We took Mango in to address an issue with lack of appetite and were prescribed some pills which are now working. We were given the list of options for bloodwork - and we passed on 2 of the items - the Silencio injection ($51.00) for her arthritis pain and the cardiac blood workup - ($87.00). A week later after we were sure the appetite booster was working (yay) we went back for the Silencio and the cardiac blood workup...guess what? The Silencio was $130 - and they added a vet tech exam - which we were NOT told about - and the blood work up was..wait for it..$225.00! As you can surmise - we will NOT be going back. I left an outraged VM as soon as my hubby returned with Mango. Their explanation of why the prices had changed - you have to make the decision during that exam to have all the work done right them, which is absurd as in all fairness to the pet parent - some of these procedures need to be discussed with your partner and decided in a rational manner - not be put under pressure to "do this right now, or else" - which of course was NOT disclosed to us when we made the decision to hold off. Vet care is expensive enough even with ethical practices - but when you come across unethical behavior in a practice - it just gives veterinarians a bad rap. Shame on you VetCo! Is this how you treat returning patients?

I believe they were remodeling the clinic and had cubicle walls in the center of the store set up as an alternative and I was terrified my cat would leap over the walls and run away or something. The staff were so friendly, knowledgeable, and had a very confident and calming demeanor, which I believe contributed to the ease of the appointment. They gave her the vaccines so quick I doubt she even felt it and even did a quick exam. Somehow, they got her back into the carrier without a struggle and before I knew what happened, we were saying goodbye and paying the cashier. I would absolutely recommend this Vetco location to any cat parent needing vaccines!

My 8 year old very active Kitty became lethargic, stopped eating, and was very warm on the eve of the 22nd of December, on the 23rd when he was no better I contacted the Salem, Emergency Vet at approximately 10: 30 p.m and was told to bring him right in. Only to receive a call about 15 minutes later telling me that the ER had to stop accepting patients as they were over run with emergencies. They suggested the Corvallis Emergency vet. Sadly, I had to drive my very ill Kitty the 50 plus minutes in the pouring rain to Corvallis where I remained until 5 a.m., hundreds of $$ later, some RX's, and no diagnosis. I left with a still very sick kitty. By the end of the day on the 23rd Kitty was not better. I again rang Salem Vet ER and was told to bring him in. after a couple of hours I received an estimate for tests, IV's, and an overnight stay so he could be watched and remain on an IV. The estimate was far more than I could afford. Kevin was very accomodating and willing to work with his team to have the estimate fine tuned leaving only the most urgent and efficient tests and treatments to be conducted. This did bring my bill down somewhat. The final conclusion was to leave my Kitty overnight so he could receive antibiotics and hydration via IV as he had a bacterial infection. I picked KittyB up at approximately 10 p.m. Christmas Day. with a couple of antibiotics and an appetite stimulant, he was already much better and has improved daily. Though all in I spent over $1200. the experience was a thousand times better than the Corvallis ER I must give special praise to Kelly Marie and Kevin, both have the most compassionate and soothing approach to both humans and pets. Also Lisa at the front was terrific as was Hailey.
