Tried to make an appointment with this place and was cutoff off before being even able to just talk to them about what was going on with my pet. I get the fact that people must love this place, but to not listen nor give at least some kind of recommendation or even an I'm so sorry would've been nice. Almost felt like because they are so busy it warranted her to be rude. I even asked if in the future they might have openings for new pets and she said nope I don't ever seeing that happen. Okay then bye bye Karen and here's a review for ya! I am part of the holistic care movement and this is NOT how you treat people. I feel very upset after that conversation!

The prices are also very competitive and are a great value when you consider that your pets get a full Western and Eastern examination. Last October, we lost our golden retriever. When we had to make the difficult decision to put him to sleep, the compassion and care shown by everyone at Whole Pet was such a comfort. It was clear that they truly cared about us and our dog. I have also recently taken one of my dogs to see Dr Whitstein for acupuncture and he, too, did an excellent job with my shy girl. You truly cannot get better care for your pets anywhere!

Dr. Burright gave us a clear treatment plan along with some tips about what to feed and not to feed him for his diet. She was incredibly accommodating, thorough, and willing to answer my many questions. She and her staff followed up with me every day to check up on Cooper's progress. Unfortunately, our little guinea didn't make it, but we knew we could count on Oak Hills to let him rest in guinea heaven. In our first visit, Dr. Burright assured us that if the time did come, that she would personally supervise Cooper was asleep before he was put down and that he would have company all along. She was very compassionate, as was the rest of her staff. BUT THIS IS WHAT MEANT THE WORLD TO ME... After Cooper was taken into the euthanasia room, Dr. Burright returned to tell us that it was indeed the right and humane decision to let him rest for good. She confirmed all of my suspicions about his progress not being enough to kick his illness and ensured I felt good about what was undoubtedly a very tough decision. Words can't explain just how much that means to hear from a professional, especially at a time of such heartache. Letting your pet go is never easy, but I felt at total peace knowing Dr. Burright and her staff were looking after Cooper until his last seconds. If they hadn't already done the world for him, they also sent us a flower arrangement the next day to express their condolences. We were touched. I can't recommend a veterinary clinic any more than I do Oak Hills, they are First Class.

Never thought I would use a mobile vet but Im glad I did. Such a convenience for my nee pup and I. The Van was spacious enough for weighing and procedures. The staff were phenomenal and handled my pup well. So much so that the technician received lots of licks and love lol! I was able to get all of my procedures and microchipping done! Also love that the technician and doctor were both engaging and welcoming! They even showed me what they were doing at all times. 100% will be back for routines of course lol! Cons: no fault of The Vet, however, the app has some bugs. I had an appointment scheduled for today with email confirmation and it didnt show up in the profile. However, the Dr. Was able to squeeze me in and get Sir'Toto seen!! Once that app is up and running, Im sure things will pick up even more!

When that is no longer the case and tough decisions need to be made, we had an excellent experience with Compassionate Care to say goodbye to our pup. Let me start by saying that every administrative and customer service interaction was timely, clear, and concise. The last thing you want in this situation are delays and confusion. Once I reached out through the contact link on their website, the email response with details about their different services happened within 10 minutes. An intake call to make arrangements for a euthanasia visit at our home was answered by a human and only took a few minutes. They recommend making a reservation 48-hours in advance, but we were put on a wait-list and we moved up our reservation when things opened up. I appreciate that you can reschedule (with four hours advance notice) as well. They have a variety of services, Eco-friendly cremation, and memorial pieces. Everything was arranged in advance, including payment through their web portal, so when the vet arrived for the appointment it was all about our boy and his (and our) comfort. Dr. Wilson clearly walked us through the process, gave us time to say goodbye, provided options, and was a wonderful partner in the process. Cremation is done at a facility in N. Portland, but they have the option of picking up the cremains in Oregon City which was more convenient for us. Having gone through this experience with another pet where we took them to the vet's office, I would highly recommend this option for the pet's comfort. It just felt better saying goodbye in a familiar space surrounded by love.

And an even longer two or three weeks before that fighting to get him to eat. Like others here, I consider pets like family. I was busy with the doctors in ER so my partner called in to make the appointment to ease my stress. He said I was primary contact, but it was difficult to make that clear all the way until the day so communications were continually going to him. Not a big deal in the overall picture, but it didn't make the experience any easier. This was my cat and while he loved my baby, I was the one with the lifelong bond. The doctor showed up within the time window allotted. We both found her a little cold. I felt like we were just a job and everything was done by number. My BF picked up my cat and took him to me, but the doctor said we should do paperwork first. I was emotional and crying. This really should somehow be handled before the visit. There were corrections to be made on the form. I was about to lose my baby and this only made me aware that I was filling out his death warrant. I am utterly heartbroken. I know holding your baby until the last minute is catharsis and closure, but I found it traumatizing. His passing was peaceful at least. Everyone's goodbye will be unique, and my example will not necessarily match what others experience. Everyone we spoke to was professional. I just wasn't feeling the compassion.

My 8 year old very active Kitty became lethargic, stopped eating, and was very warm on the eve of the 22nd of December, on the 23rd when he was no better I contacted the Salem, Emergency Vet at approximately 10: 30 p.m and was told to bring him right in. Only to receive a call about 15 minutes later telling me that the ER had to stop accepting patients as they were over run with emergencies. They suggested the Corvallis Emergency vet. Sadly, I had to drive my very ill Kitty the 50 plus minutes in the pouring rain to Corvallis where I remained until 5 a.m., hundreds of $$ later, some RX's, and no diagnosis. I left with a still very sick kitty. By the end of the day on the 23rd Kitty was not better. I again rang Salem Vet ER and was told to bring him in. after a couple of hours I received an estimate for tests, IV's, and an overnight stay so he could be watched and remain on an IV. The estimate was far more than I could afford. Kevin was very accomodating and willing to work with his team to have the estimate fine tuned leaving only the most urgent and efficient tests and treatments to be conducted. This did bring my bill down somewhat. The final conclusion was to leave my Kitty overnight so he could receive antibiotics and hydration via IV as he had a bacterial infection. I picked KittyB up at approximately 10 p.m. Christmas Day. with a couple of antibiotics and an appetite stimulant, he was already much better and has improved daily. Though all in I spent over $1200. the experience was a thousand times better than the Corvallis ER I must give special praise to Kelly Marie and Kevin, both have the most compassionate and soothing approach to both humans and pets. Also Lisa at the front was terrific as was Hailey.
