Why not have something cold to balance out the energy LOL so here I am... They looked like they were closing for the day because all the chairs were up, but they weren't closing. I think they were cleaning their floors. Anyway, they weren't too busy at the time. I got my usual acai smoothie. Funny, I just realized the name Popeye Acai has Popeye in it and now it all makes sense why my acai drink tasted different than my other acai drinks from other juice bars. Because it has the famous veggie in it... the spinach LOL! Wow, I still get healthy when I don't pay attention... only in my case, huh? LOL I liked the acai drink and I love the spinach idea, but I prefer it to be a little bit sweeter. I want to taste more fruit than veggie. =) Staff was okay. Service was okay. There was only one other customer in front of me, but I felt like I waited longer than I should have, but then again maybe they were working on online orders... who knows. There were only 2 of them behind the counter. I would come back should I need a fruitty picker upper when I'm in the Claremont downtown area.

The Peel is a newer açaí shop that has become one of my favorite spots in the Claremont Village…read more This is the FIRST place I stop by every time I come to the area. Beyond the range of sorbet flavors and fruit bowls, I love that they have expanded the menu to include sandwiches and smoothies. I personally love the Shake The Date smoothie (with added cacao nibs) and the BBQ Smoked Beef Brisket sandwich. This little joint is so well-kept and aesthetically pleasing, with an earthy artisan vibe that makes you just wanna sit in and chill. The staff is always friendly and quick with orders. If you're looking for something satiating, refreshing, and yummy--especially during this SoCal summer--please check out The Peel.

They have kiosks here that take your order, which I appreciate. I enjoy being able to take my time and figuring out what fruit I want in my açaí bowl. The prices here are extremely reasonable, I paid only $10. I got the smallest size and expected it to be really small, but it filled me up! They're not stingy with fruits here unlike a lot of other açaí places. My order came out within a few minutes and I didn't wait that long to get my bowl. My bowl was really delicious and I enjoy how their texture is different than other acai bowls I've had in the past. They also only use fresh ingredients here which is something I appreciate. If you're in Claremont, I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a good snack! They also offer sandwiches and other fresh food.

First time trying Juice N Bowls and unfortunately it was also probably the last…read more They advertise unlimited toppings, which sounds great, except the bowls are made in the back and aren't build-your-own. So I'm still not entirely sure how the "unlimited" part works. My açaí bowl definitely didn't help solve the mystery. It was filled to the absolute brim with açaí base while the toppings looked like they were being distributed during a shortage. Unlimited toppings, apparently with limited access. Then came the smoothies. The mango smoothie tasted like straight orange juice. Mango may have been involved at some point, but I can't confirm. The strawberry-banana smoothie somehow tasted like vanilla. Not strawberry. Not banana. Vanilla. I checked my order mentally about three times. We didn't even finish either smoothie because they were that disappointing, which is saying something because throwing away a smoothie feels like giving up on happiness. The whole experience was just mid. There are also only two small tables, so seating is basically first come, first served, first disappointed. Maybe it was an off day, but for a first-time customer, this was a miss. The toppings were unlimited but missing, the mango was orange, the strawberry-banana was vanilla, and we left two unfinished smoothies behind as evidence.

We came on a Sunday after dinner and wanted to grab some coffee. This was the only location open. They do serve coffee but tea is their thing. They have boba too and you can smell the loose teas first before deciding what you want. There is a wide variety plus teas for a purpose. I wanted a digestive aid tea which they had. It was great

This tea shop's atmosphere is quaint, cozy, fun, and feels very much like a co-op (from the…read moreentrance and the tea-sipping area). The entrance is a little hard to spot as it's not like a typical store front, it's more of a hut, with straw walls that you need to identify to go in. The outdoors section is covered by an awning and the indoor tea-sipping area has deep set couch-like chairs. Several events are hosted here like poetry readings, and it's lovely to see the community that shows up here. The selection of tea is very fun to shop through--there are different sections like medicinal to mood-based teas (I've uploaded a few that I found quirky and delightful). You can buy a packet of the tea leaves, or find the flavor you want and then tell the counter who'll brew up a cup for you (hot or cold). My gripe here (and why I removed a star) is that they don't explain what the notes/composition of the tea are, and when I asked the server, he said he didn't know either (which felt odd given how expansive this tea shop is). I recommend parking anywhere in the Claremont village and then walking over, as it's a little hidden and few spaces in the lot adjacent to it.
