"IN" Accurate Home Inspections…read more Don the owner of this operation is a total SHAM!!! He was recommended/hired by our real estate agent, and personally did our home inspection for the house we just purchased. He missed many major things in his inspection including; the sinking and bulges of the floor on the back half of the house, much of the cracked wall patch/cover up work that had been done, a yard sprinkler pipe that was not installed to code, and exposed along the surface of the dirt on the side of the house, and an additional leak in that sprinkler system, that must have been leaking for years. If the above things would have been reported to us, we would have had additional inspections done, but we thought the house just had normal wear and tear going on. NOW WE HAVE FOUND OUT THAT THE FOUNDATION IN THE BACK HALF OF THIS HOUSE HAS SUNK OVER TWO INCHES, AND THIS IS WHAT CAUSED THE WALLS AND FLOOR TILE CRACKING, THAT IS GOING TO COST US $40,000 TO REPAIR. As I see it, this company is only there to close the sale for the real estate agent, so he can continue to get referrals. We are investigating legal action against "IN" Accurate Home Inspection and/or the real estate agents involved.

We retained Tom to do a home inspection for a home we were buying based on his experience and…read morequalifications. I hate to write this review, as Tom was a very nice guy, but overall his services were costly for us. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the service he provided and it has cost us thousands of dollars as a result. Upon arrival, Tom was accompanied by an "assistant" who was introduced as a apprentice to Tom. I was a bit put off that Tom was not the person doing the entire inspection, as his qualifications were what prompted us to choose him. Nonetheless, we continued with the process. Tom walked us through the house, noting things like outlet covers missing, leaky faucets, etc. Nothing came to our attention with any major problems with the house. Fast forward three weeks later, we closed escrow and moved into the house. Upon moving in we found that both furnace systems were not working and it was the middle of winter. We literally froze until a repairman could come out and fix it. He stated the furnaces had several major problems with them and that most likely the A/C units were not functioning as well. Ductwork in the attic was falling apart as well. We were able to repair the downstairs furnace for $500 and the upstairs unit was completely unrepairable! We also were told there were several code violations on the furnace wiring and some additional electrical in the garage, which was never caught. The fireplace wall panel was completely burned out and when we had a gas fireplace installer come out, he balked at its condition and recommended we do not use the fireplace as it is an extreme fire hazard. The upstairs bedroom window was completely broken and would not open. Several of the window locks were broken as well. Why didn't the inspector open and close every window? We are now in our home and having to come up with thousands of dollars in unexpected repairs due to the lack of proper inspection on our property. If we had known that these issues were present, we may have considered another property or asked for seller concessions. Now we are out our inspection fee and money on repairs.
