Good Karma Cafe is a small cafe inside the Wilma Theater. I happened to be seeing a show at the Wilma and waited in the line for a glass of sparkling wine and a bottle of water for the show. They also have a large menu of food and drinks. They get very busy before a show (so if you want a bite before a show, go early), but it also seems like a place people will sit and work or read while enjoying a coffee or lunch. We came here for a quick breakfast. It was located down the street from our hotel. There seemed to be a good amount of college students and locals here. It was rush hour before work so mostly everyone was grabbing food to go. They had a decent breakfast menu. I ordered the Classic which came with scrambled egg, bacon, and cheddar cheese on an everything bagel. To drink I ordered an iced coffee. It came out quickly and we brought it to our table. The meal was underwhelming. The bagel was dry and not crispy at all. The egg was rubbery and felt as if it was reheated in the microwave. The coffee was not good and had a bitter after taste. For around $15 total I expected something a lot better. I would probably end up going to a Wawa next time I am in need of breakfast. read more

I really like this spot. Lots of options for seating and big windows that look out to Broad street. They have a board of seasonal specialty coffee drinks that are pretty good! They have some options for eating and sweet treats too. I like that it's connected to the Wilma Theater because it gives it a nice vibe. When I was here last, it was a cold and rainy day and was excited to order the Irish coffee but learned that the alcohol options are only sold when there is a show! Pretty good coffee, ample seating, not much beyond though. Came by here for my daily caffeine fix. Servers were attentive, put in my order and was asked how strong I wanted it. Got a double shot of espresso and no flavors. There was plenty of seating and the seats themselves were comfy. The breakfast sandwich menu seemed extensive but the baked goods looked lacking. We walked to the end of the block our hotel was on to check out Good Karma Cafe. It is priced too high for what they are selling. Having said that, I know prices are high everywhere and staying in the food service industry is hard, hard, hard. I wore my six lb Chihuahua in her wrap into the cafe. No one said anything. They have ample seating inside and out. The cafe is located in the lobby of a theater. I had a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on sour dough toast. But it was as dry as the desert. Nothing on the toast. I ordered an extra side of bacon. It was a good serving size, hot, and on its own plate. The bathrooms are very clean. The coffee is fine. We came into Philly to watch Stomp at the Miller Theater. As we walked towards the theater, I noticed this cafe and the welcoming, green colors, large open feeling as well as the offering of sandwiches. So when we arrived at the theater across the street before entry was permitted. I suggested we try this place out. We timed it well as others had the same idea. They have bagels, sourdough and multigrain bread on which to build any of their offerings. I enjoyed the Lox sandwich that came open faced. It was a good portion and good quality. The meal was prepared within 10 minutes from ordering or less. The cashier was also making the drinks which my companions confirmed were equally delicious. Grabbed a ice coffee and usually I only enjoy one place for my icy coffees but theirs wasn't half bad AND they had simple syrup. Great mid-day stop-off in our travels on our only day in Philly. I had the veggie delight vegan sandwich on sourdough - very fresh and as expected. My companions got the bagel and lox with an extra bagel and shared it. There was nice citrus water available. Service was friendly and efficient. My colleagues swear by this cafe. They go at least 3 times a week and always get bagels, coffee, and hot chocolate. I'm never hungry around the time they go and have usually reached my caffeine limit. However, I wanted to join in on the fun, so I got a Karma Chameleon smoothie. It was good! This coffee spot is really spacious and has a lot of seating. The iced latte I got was delicious. The mocha flavor was so rich and the coffee was bold-- a great combination in my opinion. The baristas were friendly. This is a good spot to study since it had plenty of tables. However, it is also the lobby for a theatre, so it may get loud prior to the show/performance or during intermission. However, it's quiet during the show/performance itself. With a name like good karma cafe, you can't go wrong. The cafe is outside a theatre, and with ample seating space, and a roaring fire, it has nice ambiance. When it's 6 am on a Monday morning in January, any coffee shop would seem appealing, but when the space is so bright and the employees are so friendly at that ungodly hour, it's hard not to keep returning here. A volunteer group I am a part of comes here every Monday morning after we are done. They also allow us to have our monthly meeting in here, which is very gracious. This is my to-go place to study. The place is very spacious and if you end at the bench area, there are outlets you can use. It wasn't too hard to get a table near an outlet. It does get crowded sometimes especially if there is a show since it's connected to the Wilma theatre. Likewise, it might get noisy. When there was no show, there was music playing in the background and light chatter. I just plugged my earphones and I couldn't hear anything. The food is not bad as well. I'm a big Good Karma fan, and I also frequent the Wilma, so naturally putting the two together makes me really happy! The space, which is settled in the Wilma's lobby, is warm and inviting (there's a fake (?) fireplace) and plenty of seats to either study, chill, or wait for the show to start. There's also outlets, so yay. As with all of my Good Karma reviews, I can't recommend the Pumpkin Spice Latte enough because not only do you get to choose what kind of milk you want (and there's enough to choose from), but you also get real pumpkin spice and not that lame syrup pump that the Other Guy has. It takes a little more time that the Other Guy, but the quality far outweighs any other pumpkin spice I've ever had, and it's consistent across stores. read more
