I could see plenty of tables empty but they must all have been booked as she said they had a table we could have but would need to be finished by 7.30. I know im a fast eater but come on ! The set menu is well priced and the waiters will allow you swap dishes you dislike for anything you fancy at no extra cost, and authentic Asian beers are available on tap. Inside, there's an elegant, romantic feel generated by the easy-listening soundtrack, lush red décor, themed lanterns and meticulously folded napkins. The waiters are all friendly, the turnaround is impressive, and unlike other independent restaurants, the staff don't try to rush you or give you a set time to vacate your table. Thanks to its great food, intimate set-up and excellent staff, this local wonder is one of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever visited in Birmingham.

Street parking is available outside, the waiting area is always relaxed and quiet and the speed of the service is always of a satisfactory level. On my recent visit, I purchased some sweet and sour ribs and a chicken chow mien. Both tasted great and were ready as soon as I arrived to collect the order, just 10-15 minutes or so after phoning through. The staff here are welcoming and polite, the atmosphere is friendly, with a hint of Chinese authenticity thanks to its lush décor and in my experience, the food is excellent.

A generous portion containing plenty of tender fresh chicken pieces, the curry sauce was thick and spicy. The dish was piping hot even after the ten minute journey home.
